Everything keeps getting better

Something about this place called him back on occasion.  It was different this time though, everything had changed.  Last time he had come here to hunt elk and he might do similar this time by the smell of deer on the breeze.  Looking about though he saw what was no longer here.  There used to be paths made from the many footfalls of wolves regularly walking through certain spots in the grass.  Further down was the old meeting area, a spot where there had been no meetings for years.

When Kotori had lived here before he’d been a willful, stubborn, arrogant child with a chip on his shoulders that not everyone acknowledged him to the extent he felt he deserved.  The last time Kotori was here he had already created his own pack and the chip was gone.  Now things had changed even more.  Kotori was not only Sumatar of Valta but he was finally no longer a bachelor.  He had found the perfect mate, one of noble birth and noble demeanor.  She would help him create wonderful children who could take on the best of both their traits.  He hadn’t waited so long on the perfect mate for no reason.  The Fatalis legacy had to continue strong and his children would make it happen.

The boy who had started his life here had grown up.  Still arrogant, but with the skills, knowledge, and experience to back it up.  Now he was also happy.
