T he dark stillness of the Soulless Forest was quite a pleasant environment for Requiem. He enjoyed being alone with his own thoughts, and the warmer climate made for a good starter home for him and Lurid while they got their feet under them and she recovered from her mystery illness. Tonight, Lurid had gone off to have some time to herself, leaving Requiem to wander and explore their new home alone. The assassin was out looking for familiar poisonous herbs he could scavenge to add to his growing garden, but the dense fog that was beginning to roll in was making it difficult to see. Squinting his way through the dark, Requiem pushed on, sniffing about while trying to keep his bearings about him. Getting lost here would do him no good.

Three wolfish borzoi stand before you, shifting with anticipation. Their glowing green eyes flitter and dance with an ethereal excitement. To your left, a pale and excitable wolf beckons, their tail wagging fervently behind them. In the center, a mournful wolf who's coat is such a pure slate, it seems as if she's tinged blue. To your right stands a dark abrasive looking wolf who's eyes are barely visible under his furrowed brow as he impatiently awaits your decision. In fact, it seems they are all waiting for you to make a choice between the three.

A long his walk, Requiem came across three strangers out in the dark forest. Brows raised over silver eyes as they all met gazes. He had no idea who these three borzoi were, but they all kept looking at him expectantly, as if waiting and wanting something from him. There was a generally eerie vibe around all of them, something unnatural and unsettling. Who the hell were these strangers and why were they just... waiting and watching him in the middle of a dark forest? They made Requiem feel surprisingly uncomfortable, which was not easy to do to the quiet professional.

R ealizing they weren't going to go away or stop staring him down, Requiem's expression tensed as the situation continued far longer than he would have liked. Were they waiting on him to pick one of them to talk to? That's what it seemed like to him. Turning his head to glance back over his shoulder to make sure his escape route was still clear, Requiem looked at the borzoi again with a crooked smirk. "Three creepy wolves waiting for me to make an enigmatic choice in the middle of the haunted forest? Yeeeeeah, how about no." With a chuckle to himself, Requiem just shook his head and turned to walk away from the trio. He wasn't a superstitious wolf by any means, but there was no way in hell he was getting mixed up in any paranormal bullshittery.

You turn to leave, wanting no part in these wolves shenanigans. No, you know better. Behind you, you hear your company grow restless.

A s Requiem went to leave, he heard the muttering behind him. The sounds of restless paws shifting in the grass, almost sounding like a swarm of insects buzzing with energy. He didn't dare to look back. Only an idiot would subject themselves to whatever strangeness these three promised. No no, he was going to go back the way he came and forget any of this ever happened. He wasn't about to become some final girl in a cheesy horror movie. Without so much as missing a beat, Requiem continued back the way he came. Unlike some others who might have participated in these shenanigans, he wanted nothing to do with this.
