The sky was clear, and warm sunshine cascaded from the heavens as Rivin stepped off the boat with the lunch she had prepared for Jack and herself. Some fish, seasoned with some fragrant herbs and some boiled seaweed made up the meal. She had carried it in some cloth, wrapped up and placed in her bag. Padding further onto the shore, away from where the waves kissed the sand, she would set everything up. The cloth was unfolded like a picnic blanket, the fish and seaweed separated into two portions. There were also a couple blue flowers she had brought too… mostly just to make things look nice for when Jack arrived. She felt her heartbeat quicken.
Jack had saved her life. Literally and figuratively. She owed him everything. And now… her cheeks burned. Boyfriend and girlfriend. Not that Rivin could have possibly considered anyone else. She trusted Jack, he… he was her best friend. She sat down on one side of the cloth. She had told him she’d call when things were set up, but had asked if he would wait until she had. The plan for the day was to have lunch together… a walk on the beach, maybe some swimming or collecting shells. It was simple, relaxing… and she was sure they both needed it. Especially now that she felt more secure with the plant she had found to fight off that side of herself.
She felt better… but she would only feel whole by Jack’s side.

Rivin has two companions - a bobcat and a wolverine. Unless otherwise mentioned IC, assume that they are close by.
Rivin had planned a day for them and Calico Jack excitedly waits for the summons. He had taken the time to bathe and straighten his fur but the salty brine of the seawater still hangs onto his coat. Idly he wonders if the scent has simply just become a part of him. Waiting in Fern Gulley, the young man had painstakingly plucked a little bouquet of different colored to present to his special lady. Smoothing down some errant fur, the young man hears her summons and he eagerly moves to meet her.
The wonderful smell of cooked fish greets his nose even before he spies the picnic and soon, he trots into view with the bundle of tulips gently clutched in his maw where he joins Rivin. Lowering the flowers to lay them by her paws, Jack then reaches up to catch her lips with his own. A gentle rumble of happiness vibrates his lips and, when he pulls away, a huge grin splits his maw. Backing away slightly, he allows his icy gaze to sweep the set up and he proudly says, “Wow! This all looks so amazing!”
Settling in with her, Jack leans into her side and pulls his portion to him, picking up a small piece, Jack asks, “So, how has my Little Flame been fairing?” With that, he pops the piece of meat into his mouth and makes yummy sounds, his eyes fluttering at the exquisiteness of the fish. Until now, Jack had not realized what an amazing cook Rivin is. Wiggling happily, he picks up another piece and readies to eat it while listening to how his girlfriend has been doing.
It doesn’t take Calico Jack long to reach her. The patchwork colored male had always been part fish it seemed, able to glide through the water with ease. Seeing him only makes that heat on Rivin’s cheeks burn hotter, her tail wagging back and forth behind her as he approaches. “Definitely tried at least. Took me a few tries to get the fish right.” There had been some practice fish… a lot of… overdone practice fish. She laughs, for him the task hadn’t been any problem at all. If anything, working on her cooking for this day was just part of what made it more special.
“I’ve been faring well,” She says softly. “Although growing plants in the sandy soil of the island is proving more difficult than I would have liked. I think I’m going to need to make a garden section of transplanted earth. It will take me forever to get enough soil to properly grow all the things I want over there… but if I start with one flower in particular that should be enough for now.” She grins.
“I’ve also been working on learning amputation. Given that we are raiders, it is a possibility and I want to make sure I don’t kill anyone with my treatments. Not sure the critters appreciate losing a limb, but I’m pretty confident in treating them now. My stitches are getting better too.” She picks up some of her own food, wrapped in some fresh herbs, and pops it in her mouth. Hell, practicing paid off. This was pretty good!
After swallowing it down she tilts her head to the side and turns the tables on her boyfriend. “What about you, Jack? Doing anything exciting?”
