That afternoon was nice, sunny, and Sulfur had made himself quite proud by gathering a collection of bells on the beach. It was something he’d seen his older sister Rivin do, and looking at his own pile of bits and pieces of shell his tag wagged with delight behind him. They needed some cleaning off, but he was excited to get his own collection going. Wade was finding cool things, so he should start collecting cool things too, right? Right! But… Sulfur frowned, gaze falling to the pile of shell bits on the beach as he looked toward the resort. If he cleaned them here they’d just get sandy again… and he couldn’t carry them all at once back to the dens by himself. He hadn’t seen his father or Rivin either… hmm.. Oh dear… now what? Ears falling with disappointment, he decides to try and call for them. Sulfur tilts his head back, the… “howl” sounding more like garbled yelling than a proper call. Would they hear him? Would they come? The boy frowns with uncertainty as he looks back at the shell bits, moving them a bit with a forepaw.

The yelling was enough to wake the dead, particularly if you were sprawled out belly up sunbake snoozing, probably drooling and snoring, just the other side of the nearest dune.

Ken rolled to his paws with a start and a snort, sending sand flying in all directions. Front paws spread wide, holding onto the earth beneath him, butt half popped in the air while his head whipped one way and then the other, he finally relaxed enough to yawn and shake his head, his back end collapsing back against the warm sand. It wasn't a call for blood, there wasn't a raid upon them, it was just one of Ig's kids looking for a hand. Well, she supposed he could help.

Rising and shaking the worst of the sand from his fur he sauntered over to the young pup that seemed to have a gathered a small pile of shells in front of him, far too many for one wolf to carry on their own. "Need help gettin'em somewhere?" He hollered out, tail waving a welcome at his back.

Sulfur waited, tiny ears pricked as he hoped for a family member to come and help him. But the wolf that showed up wasn’t his father, sister, or one of his siblings. Instead it was a yearling, a molted boy who thankfully spoke loud enough for Sul to hear him easily. The dark-furred boy gave a bunch of eager nods, his tail wagging back and forth wildly. Yes! This new wolf knew exactly what he wanted help with! He smiled brightly, grabbing as many of the shells as he could and held them awkwardly in his maw as he turned back to the stranger.

Sulfur would reach out with a forpaw, tap tapping the rest of the shells before tapping the sand in the direction of the other yearling. If he was willing to help move them then this would be easy! His red eyes were bright, happy as he beamed up at the other wolf. His childish innocence was clear as he padded a couple steps away and paused to look back at the other boy. He didn’t want to go too fast after all!
