Come down, come down sweet reverence
Jynn enjoyed spring in the northern lands. There was still a coolness in the air but the warmth of the sun and the longer days more than made up for it. As each day passed by the warmer it got but it was not yet the sweltering heat of summer. It was a perfect time to scout the southern lands before it became to hot and humid, not that the heat was all that difficult for Jynn to deal with. She struggled in the cold but her large ears and long, slender limbs were well suited to keeping her cooler during hot weather. Today she wandered the dark shores of obsidian beach, not looking to do anything in particular though her sights soon settled on a flock of sea gulls.

Tarnish new his father was interested in expanding the pack into the Obsidian Beach and taking back some of the land that had been part of the pirates under Sparrow's rule. He couldn't quite remember who Sparrow was but he'd always been fond of the beach. It was black, like him and made for excellent hunting territory for he could blend in absolutely. He was using this camouflage to hunt seagulls. The pesky birds had stolen a few kills from him now and he was more than ready for revenge. As he was about to spring though a strange creature appeared on the opposite side of the gulls. Well shit… he'd have been more interested in the odd wolf if she weren't interfering with his hunt.

Come down, come down sweet reverence
Jynn's large ears twitched as she eyed the noisy birds, debating if one would make a worthwhile breakfast. Alas, she wasn't nearly so well camouflaged and the seagulls noticed her immediately. They watched her quietly, golden eyes gleaming as they eyed her and assessed whether or not she was a threat. Jynn pretended to ignore the birds, her head dipping down as she sniffed lightly among the rocks before settling down on her belly and yawning loudly. Her long front legs stretched out in front of her but her hind legs were coiled neatly beneath her, ready to spring the moment her quarry dropped the guard.

Tarnish held his position, watching the gulls carefully as well as the woman. Should he spring now? Wait and see? He kept still for as the woman moved he noticed the gulls focus shift to her. Ok, now that was most excellent. Birds were tricky enough but if he could get a surprise attack in then maybe he could actually catch one and finally get to see what one of those beach buzzards tasted like. Tarnish continued to slink forward, getting closer and closer until he felt like he dare not wait a second longer. His attention zeroed in on the closest gull and he sprang forward, racing toward it as the gulls exploded into the air, sending sand spraying up into the air.

Come down, come down sweet reverence
From the corner of her eye she watched the pup slink forward, a dark little shadow against the ebony beach. She kept watchful eye over the seagulls, waiting for the boy to move and give her her own shot at prey, she just hoped he didn't stumble and mess up both their chances. Thankfully, he got close enough that when he leapt the seagulls scattered wildly into the air. Jynn leapt for the nearest bird, her long limbs uncoiling and propelling her skyward, her long neck stretched out, teeth snagging the base of the seagull's wing. She pulled it down to earth and in a moment had broken its neck. Panting she settled down to eat, glancing back to see if the boy had managed his catch.

In a flurry of wings Tarnish did his best to focus on one bird and one bird only for fear of getting so overwhelmed by the sheer number of them and the mess of motion. He sprang toward the nearest one and realizing that stretching out his neck wouldn't close the distance he instead smashed a paw into its back, claws out, batting it down out of the air. His hind legs kicked off the sand and snagged it in his jaws. Tarnish thrashed his head back and forth, sending feathers everywhere before the bird stopped moving. He set it down and looked for the woman, wary he'd have to defend his kill but he was pleased to see she'd snagged her own meal. Good. With prey this small he didn't want to share.
