Her warm-up jog around the perimeter of the battlefield already had Ophie out of breath, though even calling it a jog was rather generous. It was sort of a speed walk? Kinda, there was a bounce to her step and everything jiggled uncomfortably, but she was moving faster than her usual plodding pace so it was progress, right? She stood there, sides heaving as she tried to slow it down, wanted to seem as though she wasn't unfit or anything. It was just hot out that day, the sun baring down and making the grey of her coat feel extra warm.

Still, it was quiet out and no one had shown up yet. If they would, folks sure liked fighting but Ophie didn't think the battlefield was a prime hang out spot or anything.

Speech

Now that she was a free agent, Calliope was ready to take on the world. Her first stop? The Battlefield. Word had been given to her that that was the place to go if she wanted to prove herself. And for Calliope? That meant everything. To be the biggest, baddest cunt to ever live. At least in her childish young mind that was the goal, for now. Hopefully? Who knew. She was a loose cannon and ready to sink her teeth into some bitches.

Except what she found was... not anything she thought should be here. A rather rotund older gal who looked rather lost. With confidence, she marched up to her, stopping a distance, keeping that dominant stance about her. "You sure you're in the right place? Don't think a fat girl like you could really hold yourself here, do ya?" Calliope calls out, her lips pulling up at the corners to show her teeth in a baring grin.

Ophie made a face, her expression smushing in discomfort. Was she really so chicken that a kid could get away with bullying her? Yup, obviously. She'd always been soft around the edges, emotional and sensitive and just-well any number of her siblings would have slapped a bitch, as they say, but Ophie sort of floundered. Not really sure what to say or do, her five hadn't given her much to work with when it came to situations like this. She was just awkward and tubby.

"I uh- I'll do my best. You don't have to be so...mean." Not even a remotely witty or sharp come back, but oh well.

The woman's response nearly deflates her eagerness to draw blood. She really wasn't going to stand up for herself? Calliope can't help but laugh. A hearty chuckle that echoes over the deserted plateau. "Mean? Oh, girly, you haven't seen mean yet," her words are sharp, angular almost as she lowers her head to shoulder height, tail lowering to do the same. She shoots forward at the scared little baby as her ears fall backward and the fur along her ruff bristles. Except, she's the baby in this scenario, but still, we get the point.

Once Calliope is within range, she lunges. Quick, striking out with a ferocity that a nearly one-year-old shouldn't have. Reaching for Ophie's smaller form, Calliope attempts to grab around her thick neck. Head tilting back, jaws opening wide, she dives back in, using the momentum to try and aim for a bite to Ophie's cheek or neck.

Ophie frowned, not really sure what was wrong with this kid. She didn't even really have time to stew on her mean words because the pup was already on the move, rushing in with teeth bared. And she meant business, those teeth weren't about to nip or graze, Ophie could see she fully intended to grab and rip. Tear if she had the chance. Ophie's heart fluttered in a panic, her reactions weren't quick or snappy like the smaller, more nimble Fatalis' of her family, but at least she'd sort of perfected the art of bapping really hard with her front paws.

Which was to say, it had somehow was enough to win some fights she'd gotten into.

To Calliope's surprise, the older girl bapped her. Right as she was coming in to bear hug the shit out of her (literally), a paw was streamlining directly for her muzzle. Pulling back quickly, Calliope puts on the brakes. Slamming her paws into the ground, teetering forward inches from the plump gal, she is smacked and smacked hard. A yelp leaves her as her head is tossed to the side. This causes a fury to rise in her as she releases a deepened growl.

"You'll regret that, piggy," Calliope seethes. Her teeth flash, lips rippling in that all too familiar snarl of her's. Raising her own paw, she aims to strike Ophie back. It had worked once before with that runt of a wolf, it should work now. And who didn't like a good bitch slapping fight anyway?

She hadn't meant to hit the girl that hard, found no satisfaction in it either. She'd just sort of flailed and happened to make contact, her paw thunking down against the stranger wolf's muzzle as her kitty claws flicked out without really meaning to. The snarled words that slipped from the dappled girl's maw had Ophie blinking in alarm, a blur of white flashed across her vision as she raised her own paw to box her right back with just as much, if not more force and certainly more malcious intent.

Any of her other siblings would have probably reacted with a speedy counter, but Ophie just sort of...continued to flail. An awkward, one two if you will.
