Round One. FIGHT!

Maybe she'd gone looking for trouble today. There was a nasty little pain in Siduri's head that was prompting her to be combative. The girl was surly and she wanted to do a heckin' bite on something. She hadn't expected a full grown ass bear to be the biting item in question, but there she was. The brown bear stood up on hind legs and roared at the significantly smaller wolf. Sids ears tipped back to ward off the sound for a moment, but once the echo ceased, the pale child roared in return. The bear flinched, not having expected this manner of return fire. Sid took this advantage and flew towards the bear as quickly as she could. When she reached the standing creature, the wolf dove, planting all four paws against the bears big belly and pushing with all of her might. The ursine toppled with a comical sound of surprise that left Siduri rolling with laughter. Unfortunately, she was the only one laughing. Now the bear was pissed off. Ah well... not everyone had the perfect disposition, Sid supposed. Fight tiiiiiiiime! |

Kaija didn't tend to travel nearly as far these days as she used to. Of course, being completely stagnant wasn't her vibe, though island life was proving to be pretty damn decent - especially at the height of summer. Today she'd chosen to head a little further away from home though, unsure where her paws might carry her. Only when she came across the scent of a familiar enough wolf did she redirect her course a little bit. Siduri wasn't someone she knew well by any means, but she definitely knew of her.
That wasn't the only scent that caught her interest though. Not far off was the distinct scent of a bear. Oh, here we go again, Kaija thought glumly to herself as she drew closer. Loping across the plain, she was surprised that Siduri was already grappling with the beast. Or... something like that. It had toppled over, though looked quite pissed at the predicament it was in.
She wasn't really the type to feel inclined to help, not really, but the Raiders were growing on her and she didn't really care to drag a kid's corpse back home. That sounded like a real bummer. Hoping to catch the predator by surprise, she lunged forward, aiming for the side of the bear as she hoped to land a bite on the side of its flank. She wouldn't linger long though, trying to give her head a good hard shake before darting backwards, hoping at the very least it would distract the bear for a moment.

From behind the bear, a grey and russet shape appeared. Oooo, it was a Raider! The girl's multi-colored eyes lit up triumphantly and she even giggled as Kaija lit into the bear with her tusks and teeth. "Reinforcements have arrived, ye joyless, jumpy, jealous jackanape!" Words! It brought a little surge of joy to the girl and she laughed into the wind. It was cut short with an "Ope," as she ducked beneath a swinging paw. With the attacks coming from either side, the bear couldn't put its full attention on either wolf. Sid, almost her full height but still quite lanky, was no match for a grown ass bear. She was a Raider though and never shied from a fight. Darting in and out, Siduri delivered quick, devastating bites to the bear from all angles. It was getting pissed off, but it was also getting tired and annoyed enough to consider leaving. |

For a kid, Siduri sure was a spicy one. She'd expect a normal pup to be, y'know, cowering and crying or something - not that Kaija had a whole lot of experience with normal kids, and she certainly hadn't been one - but Siduri was laughing. Like she was amused at being in such a predicament. Maybe she was a little slow, or maybe she was just really fucking brave, or maybe a little of both. Not unlike Kaija, if she was being honest. "Yeah, somethin' like that," Kaija managed to spit out as she jumped backwards.
The bear wasn't distracted by her for long at all before swiping at the smaller girl. It was obvious it was already growing annoyed, not quite fast enough to take either of them out. Kaija had the slightest misstep where the bear's paw swiped her leg, and she immediately felt pain blossom there, dull at first but slowly ebbing out. She didn't have time to stop and assess the wound though, immediately turning back to the task at hand - charging the bear and trying to land whatever attacks on it she could before ducking and dodging away from it's lumbering movements.

Again the bear swiped at Sid and again she dodged, dipped and ducked. This would almost be fun if she wasn't, y'know, at risk of dying or something. Thankfully Kaija was there to help keep the heat off of the young wolf. The tusked fae did her part, biting and whatnot. Sid frowned for a moment as all of the attention was off of her. Well that was no fun.
The ursine lumbered towards Kaija and Sid watched its big body swaying back and forth, its pace slow as though it hadn't a care in the world. The girl noticed the big, furry balls of the bear and made a blech noise before and idea struck. With a giggle at her own audacity, the pastel girl ran forward and delivered a flying headbutt directly to the bears testicles. Never in all her life (extensive as it was) had she heard a bear make a sound like the one that came out of the grizzly's mouth. It was like a squeaky wailing mewl and laughter bubbled up from Sids's throat as the bear's knees buckled. There was no lasting damage, but gods, it had to hurt. The bear turned and shakily began to shamble off, having more than enough of wolves for the day. "See ya, suckerrrrrr!"

Kaija wasn't really a cruel wolf, not compared to some, but the idea of having to drag this kid's dead body back home just because she hadn't been fast enough to help fend off the bear didn't really settle well with her. That'd really put a damper on her day. May as well put all she could into it and kick this beast's ass as best as she could, and she was doing a damn good job at it so far, if she had to pat herself on the back.
This time when it recovered from the attack, moving forward slowly to aim to strike again, Siduri attacked first. Brave idiot, she thought to herself, though as soon as she realized she'd aimed a headbutt to the bear's balls she let out a garbled chuckle. The attack seemed to work perfectly, immediately making it back down from the two of them, aiming to flee. Kaija wouldn't bother to follow it, not caring enough to antagonize the clearly-hurt beast any more than it was.
The worst of its injuries was no doubt the blow it had suffered to its manhood, by a kid no less. Kaija was amused. Shaking herself off, she noted the wound she'd suffered on her leg from the bear's claws. Nothing serious though, she'd walk it right off. "Jesus christ, kid, you're a feisty one," she commented with an amused snort. Siduri sort of reminded her of how she'd been when she'd been that age - she couldn't help but feel some sort of way toward the girl. "You all good, yeah?"
