Marrow

Marrow scooted forward on her belly, trying to hide her snow white coat amongst the grass and shrubs of the gulley. Ahead of her a grizzly bear was eating a bison. Whether it had taken it down itself or chased off the original hunter didn't matter. Marrow was hungry, Marrow wanted a taste and she wasn't going to be scared off by a big old bear. She scooted up opposite the bear and began to eat, wolfing down bites of meat before the bear realized its meal was being vandalized. Marrow looked up, locked eyes with the bear and shot off a grin before it leapt for her. She ducked, swiftly avoiding its claws only for its paw to smack her to the side and send her rolling. She yelped, knowing she'd be dealing with some serious bruises but her sturdy bones were unbothered by the swipe.

The original intention had been to gather some herbs in her bag and return home when the scent of blood, meat, and the stink of bear filled her nose. Great, the beasts were pissy at best if you were in the vicinity and would cause nothing but a headache if you didn’t take care of them. When she happened upon it though, the damn thing was already after some other wolf. Maybe someone after the meat, or the original hunter… it mattered not. If left alive the bear would only serve to piss her off as she gathered more of what she needed. A nod to her Bobcat, Lark, and Rivin lowered her head. As she charged she heard a yelp. Shit, did the fucking thing get a hit on the other wolf? She’d slam her antlers into its side, digging into flesh and fat as Lark spun around toward the bear’s front and spat and swiped at it, keeping the bear’s attention so it wouldn’t turn to the red streaked girl as she dislodged her weapons.

Marrow

Marrow committed to the roll, letting it carry her through back onto her feet and then she sprang back into action, taking only a moment to realized she had a fellow fighter on her side. With the bear focused on the bobcat as well as the other wolf, Marrow went around behind and dove for the bear's left hind leg, her fangs sank in deep and it roared, twisting around toward her but she simply dug in her heels and held on. For at the bear pulled around to get at her the force ripped its flesh from her jaws. After all, she had terribly strong bones and her teeth were part of that skeletal system. Marrow leapt out of the way of the bear, noting that it stumbled as it moved. She still had the bit of flesh in her mouth which she quickly wolfed down. Spending so much of her life starving she wasn't going to waste any bit of food.

Gah, bears stunk horribly! Rivin wrinkled her nose and ripped back, the tines of her antlers tearing through flesh as gore and blood decorated them. Seemed the other wolf was back on their feet because no sooner had she removed her antlers was the beast spinning to face the third attacker. Rivin wasted no time in attacking again, this time her fangs latching onto the injury she already causes and tearing off flesh. The bear roared in pain as more blood began to cascade down its exposed side and it continued to swipe toward it's attackers, never managing to reach either wolf. The last threat had made his pounce and was climbing up the bear’s body with the intention of reaching the neck. Once the beast was dealt with his mistress could get the herbs she needed.

Marrow

Marrow's keen eyes hunted for another weak spot. As the bear turned to get the dark-pelted wolf he left an opening that Marrow couldn't pass up. She went back in for the same spot she'd ripped flesh from before. It was easier to dig into an already open wound than create a new one and this time she was certain she'd cripple the bear. Marrow timed her attack, fangs sinking in deep to the tendon. Her fangs lactched in and with a twist of her head she severed the achilles tendon. The bear's foot immediately went flat as it groaned in pain, trying to shuffle back away from her. She let it go for now, watching the other wolf for cues.

The bear was wearing down, heavy breaths leaving it as it continued to try and chase the wolves off. Pain was a bitch, however. Rivin noticed how it seemed more concerned with the other wolf as she went for it again, and moments later cMe crashing down on one side. A heartbeat later Lark chopped down on its neck. He didn't have the strength the wolves did to do enough damage to a beast of this size but that wasn't the attention. The bear tossed its head back and left its throat open. Rivin dove for the opening, teeth clamping down and coppery blood filling her mouth. She pulled back, dragging the bear’s head back down. She didn't stop there though… she tore the flesh away and stepped back, watching the beast gargle as blood filled its throat. It was going to choke on it's own blood.
