As Bowen was walking down the winding sand river, a huge hoof came out of nowhere. The wide hock flew right past her head as emerald eyes watched. Instinctively, she ducked and sprang backwards, getting herself away from the threat. Only then did she get a good look at her attacker.

A giraffe. A big ass giraffe. It was already running towards her and Bowen was backtracking. What could she do against a giraffe? Why was it even attacking her? Long tail tucked and Bowen tried to skirt around the leggy, necky beast. It was only then that she saw the rest of the group not far off. A fresh baby stood in their midst. Okay, so she could understand why this big guy would be mad, but she was just one little wolf.

The spotted behemoth flung its legs out at her again and Bowen snarled, coat bristling. Maybe if she gave it a bite, it would run back to the rest. So she bit it.

"Bowen"

Barghest trailed behind Bowen as they ventured out of her fathers territory, it was new and exciting after all. The sand river wound its way through the wilderness, and Barghest kept a watchful eye on Bowen, careful not to fall too far behind.

Suddenly, chaos erupted as a massive hoof lashed out from the undergrowth, narrowly missing Bowen's head. Barghest's muscles tensed instinctively as she sprang into action. She watched in disbelief as a towering giraffe emerged from the foliage, its long legs carrying it forward with surprising speed. Bowen reacted quickly, ducking and dodging as the giraffe closed in on her.

Barghest's hackles rose as she assessed the situation, her mind racing with possibilities. Why was the giraffe attacking? And what could she do? And then, Bowen made her move, sinking her teeth into the giraffe's leg - that took Barghest by surprise. The giraffe recoiled in pain. Barghest seized the opportunity, following suit as her jaws snapped shut around one of the giraffe's leg, trying to lend a paw.

Again Rhazien was out exploring the neighboring territories just for shits and giggles, this time returning to the desert where he’d fought the pack of hyenas with the boy named KD. He wasn’t necessarily looking for him, or anything in particular for that matter- but he had to pass through to reach the next territory. And so, he was following a well-beaten path through the sand river, stopping here and there to observe anything of interest.

And oh, did something appear. He heard the snarling before the battle came into view- a massive, long-legged creature trying to stomp on two female wolves. Time to put on his chivalrous charm. Charging forward he sought to aid the two- noting one was a small pup, and making sure to keep her in his peripheral at all times- lunging at the third open leg while the two girls but the others.  

"Speech"

Cadaver had been traversing the sandy terrain near the Sand River, his usual solitary exploration interrupted by the distant sounds of a struggle. Ears perked, he quickened his pace, his lean frame blending into the desert hues as he approached the commotion. As he neared, the scene unfolded before him—a giraffe, towering and agitated, lashing out at two wolves, with that familiar larger brute entering the fray.

Without hesitation, Cadaver sprang into action, his instincts driving him to aid. He bounded towards the scuffle, his focus laser-sharp on the giraffe's movements. Seeing Bowen and Barghest engaging the giraffe, he calculated his approach, aiming to support their efforts. With a powerful leap, Cadaver aimed for the leg opposite of the one Rhazien had started at- that seemed to be the popular move. How else do you fight something so leggy but bite its legs? Aiming to distract and disorient the creature, giving the girls an advantage. As he landed, he let out a deep, rumbling growl, hoping to further distort the giraffe's attention.

"Cadaver Nightwing"

The giraffe was pretty confused now. One wolf had turned into four. As Bowen bit down on one leg, more bites were distributed by mouths of those that she knew. Knowing that those around her had her back, Bowen felt more confident. She released her hold on the giraffe's leg and skittered away, emerald eyes searching for something... something... there!

Quickly, Bowen ran towards a fallen tree, running up it with agile little steps. Once at the top, she leaped, landing on the sloped back of the giraffe. Teeth bit into its long neck as the rust and snow fae stood on its back. She wouldn't be able to keep the hold for long, but she could keep it for now.

"Bowen"

As Bowen released her grip and darted away, Barghest felt a surge of admiration for her. Unable to hold herself back, she followed Bowen's lead, watching as the woman made use of a tree to jump atop the giraffe's back. Amazing. Barghest wasted no time in sprinting towards it, her young muscles propelling her forward with lightning speed. With agile grace, she scaled the trunk, her claws digging into the rough bark as she ascended to the top.

And then, with a mighty leap, Barghest launched herself into the air, aiming for the giraffe's back as well. She landed with a thud, her jaws snapping shut around the creature's flesh wherever she could with a ferocious growl. Together with Bowen, she clung to the giraffe's back, their combined weight bearing down on the beast. Though Barghest knew she couldn't maintain the hold for long, she was determined to make every second count.

Biting down on the chosen limb, Rhazien’s serrated fangs penetrated deep, sawing down until he felt the stiff pressure of bone against his maw. In his peripheral, he saw another arrive- a male he recognized from previous altercations with predators- running straight at the beast and grabbing another leg as the four wolves tried to disrupt the giraffe’s gravity and topple it down.

But the pretty woman let go, moving to encircle the beast before leaping onto its back and biting its neck. What the hell, she was like a damn cat. Still, he wouldn’t falter in his current position, shaking his head to and fro to try and make the giraffe lose its footing and fall over.

"Speech"

Cadaver felt a surge of determination as he joined Bowen, Barghest, and Rhazien in their coordinated attack on the giraffe. Together, they formed a formidable force, their combined efforts aimed at bringing down the towering creature. As he clamped down on the giraffe's leg, he could feel the sinewy muscles tensing beneath his teeth, his jaws working tirelessly to maintain his hold. With each shake of his head, Cadaver applied more pressure, his goal clear—to destabilize the giraffe and tip the balance of the battle in their favor. He could hear the grunts and growls of his comrades as they too fought fiercely, their determination echoing his own.

"Cadaver Nightwing"

The pack of wolves fought ferociously against the mighty giraffe and the long necked beast was realizing that he was screwed. With four sets of teeth in him, the giraffe began to turn in the hopes of running back to its herd. Bowen was fine with this. She didn't want to kill the thing. She just didn't want to get kicked in the head by it either. With her teeth latched into the giraffe's neck, Bowen had no choice but to let go and slide down the beasts back as it began to run. Like a cat she landed on all fours, emerald eyes staring after the retreating creature.

"Bowen"

She wasn't as graceful as Bowen, her attacks fueled more by raw instinct than precision. But she was just as fierce, her teeth sinking into the beast's flesh with savagery.

Barghest felt the giraffe's neck muscles tense beneath her jaws as it began to twist and turn in a frantic attempt to break free. She held on as best she could, her grip faltering as the beast's movements grew more erratic.

Suddenly, Bowen released her hold, sliding down the giraffe's back like a streak of lightning. Barghest watched with a mixture of awe and envy as Bowen landed gracefully on all fours.

Barghest shook herself out of her momentary daze and followed Bowen's lead, but she landed… a lot less gracefully. Instead the girl caught the giraffe's tail on the way down, and flung herself off into the dirt.

The leggy creature knew it was outmatched- being chomped on by four sets of jaws, starting to stumble to and fro as the women attacked its neck and back. Bowen decided to let go, sliding down the neck in a comical manner- Rhazien could barely see her, given he was biting down on a leg- but he did see her land on the ground near him. The pup followed, but her departure wasn’t so graceful- having been caught in the giraffe’s tail, flinging herself onto the ground beside her guardian. Rhazien released his hold and let out a laugh- their prey bolting away from them on unsteady stilts, trying to escape.  

"Speech"

Cadaver felt a surge of triumph as the giraffe, realizing it was outnumbered and outmatched, began to stumble and twist in a desperate attempt to break free. With Bowen and Barghest releasing their holds, Cadaver followed suit, releasing the giraffe's leg and leaping back as the creature bolted away from them.

As the giraffe fled, Cadaver let out a triumphant howl, his mismatched eyes gleaming with satisfaction. The battle was won, the threat neutralized. He turned to his companions, a sense of camaraderie and respect filling him. Together, they had faced down a formidable opponent and emerged victorious. The rush of adrenaline still coursed through their veins, a reminder of the intensity of the battle and the strength of their bond.
