All and all she was fairly pleased with how well-received her lessons were. Of course, Logic was a bit of an abstract concept to talk about. But she wanted to teach things beyond just hunting and fighting. This was a scholarly pursuit after all. “Next, I want to talk about good communication skills.” She began, offering her friendly grin once again to everyone who would check in with her. “Good communication skills are crucial in all aspects of life in regard to personal relationships and social interactions. They form the foundation of how we connect with others, convey our thoughts and emotions, and navigate the complexities of ongoing interaction.” Talyssa paused, allowing the topic to sink in before continuing. “Understanding the elements of effective communication is essential for building strong relationships, resolving conflicts, and achieving success in various areas of life.” She didn’t make a show out of looking for Nimue’s eye contact as she mentioned conflict resolution … but she did hope the volatile girl was listening.

Arachne listened intently as Talyssa began to discuss the importance of good communication skills. The topic resonated with her, as she understood firsthand the value of clear and effective communication in building relationships and resolving conflicts. She admired Talyssa's approach to teaching, focusing on topics that went beyond the basic skills of survival. As Talyssa spoke, Arachne reflected on her own experiences within the pack. She thought about the times when misunderstandings had arisen due to poor communication and the efforts she had made to improve her own communication skills. Ah, communication. Once more Quill listened to Talyssa's dulcet tones. She laid out the intricacies and importance of communication to the rabble and Quill nodded. He'd gotten quite comfortable just listening to her speak and had placed his blocky skull upon one outstretched foreleg. Mismatched ears shifted to catch her words and a small rumble sounded in his chest. "Communication is also important so that you can properly relay your wants, needs and desires to others." One brow lifted and he canted his relaxed head slightly as though silently asking Talyssa if she agreed.

Barghest listened intently as Talyssa shifted the focus of her lesson to that of communication skills. Despite the warmth in Talyssa's tone, Barghest remained composed, her mind already analyzing the implications of each word rather than melting into a puddle like her older brother was.

The importance of effective communication in personal relationships and social interactions – or at least that’s what Talyssa had said. Barghest's thoughts turned inward, thinking about points of her own interactions with her packmates, harmony right? A quick glance to Nimue, and her eyes were back to the golden woman, one side of her lips curled upwards in a smirk. Calculation danced in her eyes as she thought of the potential impact of Talyssa's teachings on Nimue's behavior, however brief it may be. Barghest herself was not one to act rashly or impulsively. She preferred to observe, to analyze, and to strike when the moment was most opportune.

One session turned straight into another, this girl was intent on oversharing knowledge for whatever freaking reason. In truth, Nimue was a little agitated; not enough to drive her off, though. She was a glutton for knowledge, if it could benefit her in some way. But communications skills? What could this girl possibly teach them that she didn’t already know? You used your mouth, made words, and combined them with body language cues. Hell, even she knew all that.

Still, Nimue would listen to Talyssa, and how she talked about forming foundations with others and connecting with them. Yuck. Quill chimed in, being gross and trying to flirt with her again. He needed his balls chopped off. A little grumble left Nimue, but she’d sit quiet and listen nonetheless.  

"Speech"

Talyssa's warm and engaging tone filled the room as she continued, "Good communication skills are not just about speaking. They also require active and empathetic listening. By truly listening to others, we show them respect and understanding, which builds stronger relationships." Her eyes scanned the audience, searching for signs of comprehension. "And let's not forget about non-verbal communication. Our body language and facial expressions can often speak louder than words and greatly influence how our message is perceived." She smiled knowingly, her hands gesturing to emphasize her point. The air hummed with anticipation as everyone waited for her next words.

Arachne absorbed Talyssa's words like a sponge, nodding in agreement as she spoke about the importance of active listening and non-verbal communication in addition to verbal communication. She could relate to the idea that listening was just as crucial as speaking in effective communication, having experienced firsthand how misunderstandings could arise when one party failed to truly listen to the other.

As Talyssa emphasized the impact of body language and facial expressions on communication, Arachne became more aware of her own posture and gestures. She made a mental note to pay closer attention to these subtle cues in future interactions, recognizing their significance in conveying messages effectively.

Quill remained silent once his innuendo was made. He appreciated the pretty woman and her pretty words. While the rest of the group interacted, the big man was content to watch and listen. His gaze was all for Talyssa. The brute's pale tail swished back and forth languidly in the grass. He was comfortable in all situations and this one was no different. His posture, demeanor and general aura spoke of quiet confidence. Quill was a master of his own world.

Talyssa went on to explain her thoughts on communization skills further; giving more details, as she spoke about active and empathetic listening. What the hell did that mean? Oh. Actually listening to others, and showing respect and understanding; all things Nimue didn’t like to do, especially if someone didn’t deserve it.

She went on to talk about non-verbal communication; so basically, body language and facial expressions. Admittedly, Nimue was pretty abrasive most of the time, both in the way she carried herself and the expressions she made. Was she aware of it? Yes. Was she going to change? Probably not. But Talyssa felt compelled to teach them all about it anyways.

Barghest absorbed Talyssa's words, her analytical mind processing each word with careful consideration. Of course, she was already ace-ing this lesson. She might not have always shown it, but she was an amazing listener. She knew how to watch for social queues, knew when to speak and how to read others. It was why she kept her mouth shut when she needed to, and exploded when she needed to. She wasn't a slave to her emotions, and being a Princess meant she had to maintain control and a level head. At least until pushed too far, of course. The girl briefly looked over to Nimue, wondering if this was a lesson meant for her. She had been giving their teacher a lot of mouth.

Yeah, all things Nimue needed to learn, unless she just chose to act the way she did. Frankly, Barghest didn't have anything against the girl. Her father had taken kindly to her, and she hadn't any issues with the girl herself. But she was just so... uninhibited. Barghest subconsciously wished to be the same.

Empathy, understanding, connection. Not hard concepts to grasp, her mother was a very soft woman after all. And taking care of her siblings had left her with the skills to maneuver conversation and social life with ease. Barghest was better for having it all put into words though, so she gave an appreciative nod to the scholar in return.

She felt Quill and Barghest staring at her; both of them scolding her in their own, silent way, because she was being so ornery for no good reason. A little huff left her, shoulders rolling forward as she kept her gaze on Talyssa; if she looked over at the others, she might start glaring at them. Talyssa continued on, talking about empathy and its role in communication. Wait, didn’t she mention this in her other lesson? Shaking the thought from her head, Nimue resumes listening; Talyssa going on about practicing empathy and using it to understand the perspective of others. Hmpf. Why would she care about how others felt? They certainly didn’t seem to care about how she felt.

Still, Talyssa seemed quite passionate in her discussion, wanting to teach her impromptu group about the importance of communication. She even ended with a challenge- be better communicators, to enhance existing relationships and open the door for new ones. Nodding to Talyssa, she confirms she’s heard the woman’s lesson; but that didn’t mean she was going to put it into practice so willingly.

Nimue was such an ornery ass. Talyssa continued to speak, touching on empathy. Hmm, Quill couldn't say much about that. He was pretty self absorbed and didn't often care to think about how others felt. He understood empathy though, and that was a far cry better than Nimue.

Once Tal was finished with the lesson, she bestowed that bright smile upon the group. Quill melted a little. Hmm, he was such a sucker for pretty girls. Ignoring his sister and adopted... whatever Nimue was... the cloudy coated brute went up to the blond and white fae. "Speaking of good communication. I wonder if you might like to join me for dinner," he purred to the lovely woman, pink and cerulean eyes brimming with confidence and desire.
