Riv had stayed away from this battlefield for the most part. It might have been smarter to stay in auester but he wanted to see what this place had to offer. Blood stained the earth and the heavy scent of fighting obviously meant this was their official battleground. Fluffing up his tail he gave a deep breath.

Cocking his head back Riv let out a summoning howl. Perhaps someone of his own skill would show up. Then again, if he managed to beat up a seasoned fighter hed be so proud of himself. He lacked in training and it was time that he turned that around. His paws eagerly kneading the ground.

She needed more training. Especially after her failure in the raid. Brida made her way to the renowned battlefield, the place where she knew others came to test themselves. It was then that she heard someone calling for a spar, and with all the eagerness of a warrior with something to prove, she sought them out. Within minutes, she found a younger male with a strange tail, and of course with all her hotheadedness, she went straight for him. With a battle cry, Brida aimed to close the distance, not waiting for introductions or pleasantries. She wasn't the sort, really. There really wasn’t much time for him to react. His eyes widened for a moment with that wide smile across his face when he felt a chest hit his own. Well he couldn’t blame her and who knew what she was going through. Oh gods what if someone pissed her off, a break up perhaps, lost a loved one. Focus! He told himself, then his head snapped back lowering his jaw trying to avoid those teeth. A scratch and pulled fur from his cheek sent his muscles rigid. Riv pinned his ears back, raising his hackles and narrowing his eyes well he could thank her later and he’d be happy if he’d help someone blow off some steam.

Riv attempted to keep them in close quarters. Pushing his own weight forward his jaws opened aiming for the right side of her face. While inexperienced he’d try his best because his opponent didn’t want some wet rag. Lifting his right front paw he aimed to slam it down on one of hers. Wasn’t the point to pin and disarm your enemy?

Brida snarled as they collided, her teeth missing the intended mark and grazing his cheek instead. She pulled her head back, readjusting her stance as she swung her head toward his jaws, seeking to headbutt his face at the cost of lacerations all in the effort to potentially force his jaws shut or throw his head back. His paw did make contact with hers, and instead of lifting the one he struck, she used the opportunity to raise her other one and aimed a heavy blow toward his shoulder.
