All in how you see things
Dominus

Thyrus lay on a bed of pine needles in the speckled shadows of the giant pine trees. The boy seemed focused on a spot farther off in front of him. To the world, nothing was there but in Thyrus' mind he was watching a fox walking along, searching for its next meal. He had seen a fox corpse yesterday and now he got to see the actual fox. IT had one eye left when he’d seen it and Thyrus had eaten the eye later, hoping for just this. Hoping the eye of the dead would let him see the ghost of it.
The little boy was a tiny thing, with horns on his muzzle, his tail had two sets of spikes growing out of it. The imaginative pup was perfectly captured in his imagination, paying little attention to what was going on around him.

Big, busy, brawny, for a boy of his age. Dominus is all of those things, perhaps unfortunately for everyone around him. Imitating the things he saw his father doing, walking the paths that the patrols took, pretending to be just like the adults. For as much pretending as he was doing, maybe it's not all pretend. The boy's senses are keen, and he should deter at least some predators... right? An osprey chancing a landing among the pine trees-- a perfect challenge. Dom's eyes alight, he can't help himself. A great bout of noise, barking and snarling, erupts as he throws himself after it. Shattering the serenity of the afternoon with all the excitement he can. The bird isn't on the ground for long, taking one look at the boy, deciding that it really isn't worth it to stick around. After running full tilt at the raptor, he's admittedly winded. Crashing against a nearby tree with a heavy lean, laughing at the spectacle he'd managed to cause, Dominus catches his breath. |

The silence was broken s a lot of barking was heard. Then the cause of the sound came closer and he could hear the running and snarling that came with it. The thump of someone suddenly whacking into a weight was heard with laughter. The small pup watched the bird as it flew away.
Looking back to where the ghost was he realized it had left. Dang it!
The tiny pup huffed and headed to the source of the noise, irritation at losing sight of the fox turned into curiosity as he looked at the stranger. It was another pup but one that was older and considerably larger than Thyrus.
“Hey,” Thyrus moved in closer, “you chased off the fox I was watching!” Ghost fox, he left that part unsaid at the moment. “So, what exactly where ya doing anyway?”
