The group followed Modesty away from Raider lands and across the Bifrost. Once they neared the border of The Hallows, they split off from the Raid King to start their own quest. Obtaining the body of Gilgamesh was important, dead or alive. Even if the others didn't care for it, Scald wanted to give his father a proper burial or at least ensure he would live... Hopefully live. His confidence about his father's life is thin, but there just enough that it helps propel him forward to Ethne borders. Finding the lands where Ethne resided wasn't difficult. The boom of the waterfall could be heard from the outskirts of the trees. A few feet before his paws cross the territory border, Scald tips back his head to alert the members of Ethne that they have arrived. Without waiting for an escort, Scald moves through the forest. Kenway's directions were fuzzy at best, but from the sounds of it, Ethne had not allowed their father to go far into their territory. The stark scent of healing supplies and blood alert him to a small clearing. Slowing pace, he glances back at the group, giving them a stern glare before entering the space. There a small hut crudely built over his father's body stands and he's not surprised someone is there either guarding or tending to his wounds. Coming to a stop, Scald glances from the Ethne member to the weakened body of Gilgamesh. Surprise crosses his features, unable to speak for a moment. Clearing his throat, he turns his attention back to the other wolf. "We've come to retrieve Gilgamesh. He should be stable enough by now to be moved," Scald is direct and stern, there would be no arguing with him. Turning to look at his group, he nods his head toward where Gil lay. "Sakana, I want you at his head. Make sure we don't kill him in the process of getting him up. Everyone else, just uh pick a part and lift carefully," his muzzle wrinkles slightly with uncertainty, "I'll get the sheet under him so it'll be easier to get him up into the cart," he says, voice trying to stay confident as he takes the tanned skin sheet out from the cart and begins to carry it over to Gil. |

Not a violent wolf by nature, now his growth spurt had ceased, Sakana felt more himself in his bones. He had accompanied his age-mate not-siblings, (though they felt even closer to him than some of his own blood had at times) on this fools errand to retrieve Gilgamesh's corpse, for surely that was all they would find after all this time. The Raid King was not the sort that would be kept from his family if it was within his power to return.
That Scald sent out a call at all caused a brow to arch, but he was quickly distracted by a familiar medicinal scent. Not waiting for Scald's direction, and halfway to the leaders head before the order was given, his lips pulled tight as he gently assessed the damage. While the others got in position, he reached into his saddlebag and dropped a bag of herbs beside the shelter. He wouldn't be in their debt for any of this. Keeping him alive this long wouldn't absolve them of this sin. He retrieved a ball of floral scented gum (it had taken him a very long time to collect even this much, thus he only used it for emergencies) and he told Gilgamesh gently, “Open up, I bought the good shit for ya.” He forced a cheeky smile and supported the leaders head while the rest bought the skin underneath him.
It would take far longer to get home than it had taken them to get here, but the sooner they were gone, the better.

Deluge was no politician. Had she had her way, they would have bottled up Kenway's latest batch of undrinkable liquor and come in with intent to burn the place down. She had plenty of bottles slung over her hip, her hat pulled down over her ears, her movements were purposeful, and her stride didn't cease when her brother tipped his head back to call. Deluge didn't hold any of Scald's optimism, so she remained silent on the journey here, sombre for the usually brash and abrasive girl.
The patchwork wolf could have eaten her hat when the scent of herbs hit her. Gil looked terrible, to be honest, she wasn't even quite sure he actually was alive until Sakana was shoving something in his mouth. She helped Scald to get him on the skin, moving along with her brother while Sakana supported his neck. They shouldn't be jostling him about in a cart like this, they'd have to find another way home, but that could be discussed once they were clear of the borders.

It's a recovery mission, and Dread knows how to keep his mouth shut and do his job when he needs. Equal parts muscle and moral support, hanging close to Deluge's side. His gait long, gaze keen-- head on a swivel. Maybe there's a paranoid edge to him, maybe there has been since they came back. Being vigilant is the right answer, the only answer, if they're going to be treated like fucking criminals at every turn. To be honest, he's surprised to find the raid king breathing. Looked like hell, but breathing all the same. A steady, intense look to whatever Ethne creatures didn't have the good sense to scatter-- it's all they'll get from him. He'd been a lackluster politician, but at least now, Dread can call unhinged like he sees it. His first mission as a politician had been to Ethne, what felt like a lifetime ago. Supporting Gilgamesh's weight as they lift in time, Dread puts the thick-corded muscle beneath his coat to work. Standing opposite to Deluge, they'd be able to work together and get him moved just fine. Shit, this is probably the easy part. Shifting him onto the sheet, and then they'd get him up into the cart. They'd need to sort a way to pack him in so he didn't jostle around, but clearing the borders is the most important part. |

He followed the small group to Ethne's lands to collect Gilgamesh's body. Dead or alive, they were going to bring him back home. He didn't particularly care for the beef the packs had for each other, his beef was with Bellamy. Always with Bellamy. It had been for years, and that was unlikely to change, if ever. He was here to fuck shit up if Bellamy happened to show up, and perhaps he'd consider taking her little pet with him. Though he supposed the main goal here was Gilgamesh...and as much as he wanted to make Bellamy hurt by taking everything she loved, Gil was priority.
He crossed the borders with the others, finding Gil lying there and alive. Barely, but he was breathing. He snarled at those tending to him to back the fuck off as he circled around to help get Gil sorted out and ready for transport back home.
Ignis is unpredictable and may become violent with little or no provocation due to his "demon"
*Ignis' tail is docked, and his left ear has been torn away and now resembles a Battle crop style.
With Sakana at Gil's head shoving whatever the fuck he was shoving in there, Scald moves to help the others. Taking as much care as he can muster to pull and shift the hide so they could maneuver Gil, he feels the importance behind it. One wrong move, one large bump, and it could literally mean death to his father. To the Raid King, to... everything he'd really known. If Gil didn't survive the trip home, what would happen? Refusing to think of the potential risks now, Scald focuses on getting Gil up and into the cart. Just a little more push and gentle shoving, getting the tall and lanky man just right so he can't fall out the moment they look away. Stepping back, he glances around the small clearing once more, a single side eyed glance toward the Ethne member before he turns to address the group. "The trip around might be too risky. Mu-uh Modesty mentioned," was it appropriate to call her mother? "that there's a raft down on Shimmering Shore we can use if that will be safer," Scald's gaze turns to Sakana for approval before they get the cart rolling. |

Sakana did his best to support Gil's neck as he was hoisted onto the cart, packing more pelts around his body to prevent him from bouncing clean off the thing. It was going to be an incredibly uncomfortable experience for the patient, and the risk of getting bogged in the sand crossing the Bifrost was high. That there was a raft conveniently stashed on the Shimmering Shore would make their trip... if not smoother for Gilgamesh, at least a little shorter. He nodded his agreement as they set out, not bothering to unclench his jaw as they headed North. While he was sure the Hallows would cause them no problems, across the water was the shortest route home, and they'd all had plenty of practice rafting when they lived on the islands.

They hadn't come waving a white flag and the girl was itching for someone to open their mouth, to step a toe out of line so she'd have an excuse to tear it off. When no contest came, she snorted her annoyance, shaking some of the tension from her body, pale fur floating and glinting where the late afternoon sun pierced the canopy overhead, before she turned and fell in step alongside her brother. They'd only come here for Gilgamesh, that was the whole point of this little excursion, and she would leave it at that. No matter what she wanted, while she called herself a Raider, she would tow the fucking line like the rest of them, and wouldn't attack without provocation (while on official pack business anyway).
