He had succeeded in knocking the other male down, and although his teeth missed their mark, Finan would take that small win for now. His opponent hit the ground hard, but it only took mere moments before the white male managed to get back up and face him again, lunging at Finan with tooth and claw. Luckily for him and his extra perceptive vision, Finan was able to react in time and so he met the alabaster wolf with equal force, rising on hind limbs as he sought to equally embrace his opponent with his forelimbs seeking either side of his opponents shoulder. Jaws snapped open and he aimed to wrap them over the white wolf's top jaw. He wasn't seeking to seriously harm him, but rather to grapple him and twist his head into an uncomfortable position in an effort to make him submit.

Spider’s strike finds its target, drawing a sound of pain from their opponent, but it only seems to aggravate the horse further. it’s hooves rain down on them, fast and wickedly sharp, urging them to duck for cover or else risk further injury. tucking their chin into their throat, Spider flattens themselves to the ground and attempts to scramble out of range, skidding across the earth as they make a hasty retreat. panting heavily, the armada heir watches their opponent through wary eyes, searching for weak points as their heart slows. unfortunately, there doesn’t seem to be any further openings through which to exploit - not if they want to keep their head on their shoulders. body tense, Spider stalks a slow half circle around the horse, keeping an eye out for even a hint of weakness in their defences. they might not be able to attack again yet, but the moment the horse stumbles, they’ll be there to take advantage.

Mortis was here for the sake of his sons. Ge watched them as he stepped carefully through the range. Oleander engaged with an Avalon wolf, and as he watched Wylan started one of his own. He would keep a close eye on them, and seek out an opponent for himself.

A wolf stepped into the field, their eyes worried. He recognised this wolf by description, and the worried eyes puzzled him. Basilisk had told them this raid was friendly, and planned.

He stepped closer to the wolf, bringing his wings in as he aimed to shove his shoulder into hers. He moved carefully, doing just as much needed to engage. “Everything alright?” He asked her, voice soft as his moves brought him closer.

Wylan was so ready for this raid. He was watching fights break out around him and silently cheering for his teammates as they fought. He knew one of the pack healers has set up camp just outside the pack lands. The perfect place to meet up once each warrior's fights were done.

A white and black wolf had just finished a flight with his cousin, and Wylan saw his chance. He spread his wings wide and dove in, attempting to bring their fight into close combat. He grinned at the white wolf, friendly and welcoming even as he tried to slam his shoulder into theirs.

As his 'companion' Krakarak may enter any of Wylan's threads without warning

She had come into the raid with lots of hopes and not many expectations, but when she managed to best her first opponent her confidence shot way up. As she disengaged from the older male and gave him an appreciative nod for a good fight, she went looking for another opponent. She was still feeling good and had plenty of energy to go again! Just as she was turning and looking around this temporary battlefield for another wolf, she spotted one that seemed to be sending Casimir packing. Well, what a better use for her next fight than to avenge her pack mate? Bounding over to the slightly taller man, she made a bit of a loop so that she could approach him from behind. Meanwhile, she glanced up and signaled for her magpie to join in on the fun, the bird swooping down toward Finan's face and dancing above his head to keep him distracted while she ran in from behind to try and grab his back, right ankle between her jaws. She could tell that he was a heavier build than herself and that coupled with the extra height he had would make pulling him off of his paws pretty difficult, but she hoped the element of surprise might aid her as she made a hard tug to pull his hind leg back and hopefully off set his balance.

"Wynter Fatalis"

He had managed to pull one over on his smaller opponent, and as soon as they were done, Cloud disengaged and took a moment to shake out his ruffled fur before his companions alerted him to the approach of another. He looked up to find a larger male running toward him, only this one had wings outstretched. He would've been more surprised, but truthfully, he wasn't. With as old as he was, he was sure he had seen it all at this point, and he recalled seeing a small winged wolf once upon a time. It was a rare sighting, he was sure, but fighting a winged wolf at least was something he could cross off his bucket list.

The Armada wolf came at him, grinning as he closed the distance. As the winged wolf closed in, Cloud moved to meet him, however, he'd step off to his right, avoiding the slam as he sought to come up on his opponents left side, jaws open as he sought to grab that wing in his mouth and pull in an effort to unbalance the other, maybe dislodge a few feathers, but nothing seriously harmful.

He had succeeded in defeating his first opponent in this raid! The white wolf had been subdued, and so Finan took the chance to take a quick glance at how the others were doing. So far, it didn't look too good for Avalon. Oh well, they were a much smaller pack and likely didn't have the amount of fighters that the Armada had. Not to mention half the packs members were either really old, or really young. Oh well, he'd still do his best to send the next one on their way, too! Only, before he could seek out another target, it appeared as if one had already sought him out first. A bird came swooping in around his head, taunting and chattering at him. Who did this bird belong to? The answer came soon enough as he failed to detect the approach of his opponent and his right ankle was nearly yanked out from under him! He snarled in surprise as he whirled around, putting as much force as he could into his tight turn as he sought to use the motion to drag whoever it was closer. Glowing eyes caught the sight of a yearling girl on his heel, and instead of giving her a kick to the face to dislodge her, he'd seek to reach for her scruff instead with obsidian fangs in an attempt to drag her off and try to subdue her. His tactic worked against the small wolf. He had forced them to retreat, and in the end, Balian had come out victorious! He let loose a victory cry before taking a chance to observe the rest of the battle, noting that Avalon wasn't looking too hot, but that was to be expected when it was a larger pack going against a smaller one. Still, he still had some fight left in him, so he set his sights on those not engaged and rushed in.

Crystalline hooves thundered across the ground (as silence wasn't his strongsuit) as he barreled down upon his next opponent. When he felt close enough, he thrashed his hooves forward in an attempt to catch the wolf with sharp crystalline hooves, or force them to retreat, too. All the while he fiercely snorted and stomped and thrashed his head in an effort to look more dangerous.

The large, winged wolf that approached was frankly fascinating. He wasn't the only one the Armada had fielded, it seemed, but she'd never seen even a single wolf with wings before now. It was enough to pull her gaze from the other battles, even if he hadn't also been attacking. A kind wolf, though, he seemed concerned even as he went through the steps a raid required of them. She flashed a quick smile at him as she leaped sideways just enough to avoid the initial impact. "No, nothing's wrong. I just always worry when my wolves fight," she assured him, before snapping at one of his wings where the primary feather's trailed behind. Not aiming to injure the wing, she just sought to pluck a feather out in a gentler representation of a real bite.

The smile of his opponent was reassuring, and he returned it with a natural gentleness. She leaped back, out of his initial strike, and he followed her. Moving forward, still attempting to close the distance between them. “I understand that” He said, risking a glance towards his children - a sparing glance that managed to flick across all three of them.

She went for one of his wings, and he used the distraction to snap his other wing over top of her. Aiming more to surprise than injure her as he attempted to flick the edges of it against the top of her head. He didn’t stop her from taking a feather as he made the movement.

Wylan flew towards his opponent. Excited for the raid to begin proper for him. He’d seen Oleander win both his fights! And was keen for his own time to shine
Seeing the other wolf attempt to move to the side, Wylan raised his wing and attempted to smack the other wolf on the head with the momentum of his dash. It was hard to avoid a wolf with a wingspan. As he did that, he attempted to bring his shoulder in against Cloudburst so that he would have the reach to aim his teeth against the shorter wolf's scruff. He wasn’t really trying to hurt the other wolf. Just try to gain control and win the match

Her plan worked nearly flawlessly as her magpie kept the man’s attention long enough for her to swoop in and grab the guy’s ankle, but before she could fully topple him he spun around, pulling her along with him. She could have let go, but the maneuver caught her off guard enough that she didn’t quite process what was happening until she was already scrambling to keep her footing and maintain the hold on his leg. She did stay standing somehow, but then the man twisted himself around to grab at her scruff, locking them together in some sort of weird grappling, pretzel shaped stand off. Well, the only thing she really had going for her here was the fact that all four of her paws were still firmly on the ground where his stance was very compromised. Deciding it was worth the risk of his teeth tearing further into her scruff, Wynter doubled down on her previous move by trying to pull up on his leg once more while also attempting to throw her shoulder into his hip to push him at the same time. One of them was falling down one way or another!

Gossamer waited patiently for her turn to to take on an opponent, not wishing to overcomplicate things by initiating a melee. As she readied herself, stretching her limbs she half hoped she wouldn't be attacked at all. It was a strange thing to think as a Lieutenant of the Armada but it had been on her mind for awhile now. The Armada was currently short medics and healing had always been a love of Gossamer's. Her experiences fighting had been so tangled up lately, not to mention her back to back illness. She didn't believe in any god or anything but some days she wondered if the universe was trying to tell her something.

She didn't have much time to think further for a stallion started charging for her. Oh great, she got the horse. Gossamer snarled as the massive creature charged her. She leapt forward and to her right to try and avoid the hooves while seeking to stay close One hoof caught her left shoulder, leaving a noticeable laceration. She twisted her upper body in toward the stallion's left hind leg, seeking to position herself perpendicularly while she attempted to seize his hock in her jaws.

He had to admit. He was absolutely not sure how to fight someone that had extra appendages, much less with wings. His bite missed(?), and so he had to readjust his tactics as he saw that wing come for him. Ducking his head, he felt a wing clip the top of his back instead. The winged wolf was taller than him, and so as his shoulder came in, Cloud grunted on contact, almost losing his footing but not quite. Instead, he kicked more power into his charge just as his osprey came down and sought to harass the bigger wolf by diving at his face to give Cloud a little breathing room. Zeroing in on the the larger males left hind leg, Cloud's jaws opened as he sought to grab onto the thigh while his own shoulder made to jab into Wylan's side. Okay, he clearly was still inexperienced. Practicing with his elder uncle was one thing, but truth be told, he hadn't had too much practice or experience fighting anyone else. He'd been in a few, but clearly not enough. The Armadans seemed well trained, especially the yearlings. He was a little jealous. Despite his uncles efforts, there was only so much the old hunter could teach him due to his age. Wisdom he had, but his uncle was reaching his physical limits and couldn't quite move as fast as he used to, and Finan was constantly worried about hurting him in his ancient age. Glowing gaze looked down at the yearling he now had clenched between his teeth, and he had hoped that she would've let go, but it was clear she decided to risk further injury in an effort to topple him. A bold and brave move in his opinion! He grunted as he did his best to keep his feet on the ground, but with their awkward position and the fact she decided to pull up on his leg while he was already unbalanced was the deciding factor. Gaze widened as he felt himself falling over onto his side with a hard thud, and the only thing he could think to do was try to pull her over him as he sought to straighten out. If he were lucky, he'd get enough force to toss her just over his head. If he were unlucky, and didn't get enough force, she'd end up landing right on top of him and make his situation worse. Through the thrashing of his hooves, the wolf managed to avoid the brunt of his attack, though he felt a crystalline hoof catch the Armadan wolfs shoulder before she managed to get past him. Before he could turn to face her again, the more agile wolf managed to catch his hock in her teeth, which sent the stallion into a frenzy. Bellowing in pain and fury, he lunged forward with his body, lifting both hind legs in an attempt to drag her off her feet and throw her off balance as his opposite hind leg aimed a kick at her body to dislodge her. He was used to fighting wolves, and could often keep them at bay enough because they didn't want to get kicked, but it had been some time and had forgotten to better defend himself against those teeth! Perhaps he'd been growing too relaxed in the pack, and this was certainly a wake up call to keep training and working for situations like this.

As he sought to dislodge her with a kick, his howler monkey jumped from his back and aimed to land on hers, hands seeking to grab her scruff and drag her down to the ground.
