Dorian walked to the clearing around the Lazuli Falls and paused at the edge of the pool with a slow sigh, peering down into the gently rippling surface of the water for a moment. He turned his head so he could see the scars that marred his cheek a bit better. He had gotten used to the sight of them, but the fact that they were there at all and the events that lead to them still made him uneasy. He had spent the last several days doing everything he could to prep his father's garden and mourning it in his own way. Everything that could be harvested and stored had been and it was in a state now that even a novice gardener could pick up where he left off. He hoped that someone would, but he couldn't keep using that as his excuse to stay.
Stepping back from the edge of the water, he turned to face the tree line and lifted his head to call for Saga. He had been rehearsing what he was going to say and convincing himself one way and then the other over and over. It was going to be hard whether he stayed or he left, but at least one of those options would give him a chance to find out who he was away from all of the things that just kept reopening old wounds. Stepping away from the water a bit, he settled onto his haunches to wait, forcing himself to take a breath to try and calm his nerves.

Her brother was calling for her. Which was unusual to her because he seemed to keep to himself and was often quiet. Or...maybe it was just her, she wasn't sure. They hadn't spent much time together, and even less so after their father's death and everything after that. She felt bad, but one thing just kept happening after another and before she knew it, more time had passed than she thought. Still, she wouldn't leave him hanging. If Dorian was calling her, it was for a good reason, no? She made her way to the Falls and spotted him near the edge of the water. He looked...concerned. Or perhaps like something was weighing heavily on his mind. She had seen similar looks on the faces of their sister, Lyonesse, and their mother Bellamy. She suspected what he was calling her for, but she'd wait for him to speak it first. "Dorian, what's the matter?" She asked gently, her voice gentle as she moved to sit beside him. |
