His travels around Auster were slowly taking him farther and farther north. The land was beautiful here, but crowded with wolf packs. Too crowded if anyone were to ask his opinion. If they intended to truly build a life for cats all over Boreas and Auster, they would need to find open terrain with neighbors that wouldn't spook easily or no neighbors at all. Not that Raumr disliked wolves, he was actually quite fond of the toothy canines, but they... weren't always so trustworthy of felines. He understood to a point, but wished more weren't so prejudice.
He skirts around the berry grove with clear pack scents, trying to find a good path across to the other continent. It doesn't take long for the Bifrost's bridge to appear before him. With the heavy amounts of rain lately, the bridge was thinner than he expected. Swimming wasn't exactly his strong suit. Cursing under his breath, he pulls together his courage and begins to head across the sandbar. Cautious with slow steps, he is surprised by the sudden appearance of a sea lion emerging from the watery shallows. His eyes widen as he freezes. The creature blares a trumpeting call at him, clearly upset about something.
"Just trying to pass," Raumr announces, puffing up his chest as his tail flicks anxiously behind him. He steps forward, closer to the sea lion and the sea lion takes it as a thread. Teeth bared and blubbery body begins lumbering toward him as it bellows again. A growl rises in Raumr's chest as he bares his teeth, head lowering and ears flattening. Flexing his claws, he takes off to meet the sea lion at full speed in an attempt to knock it into the water rather than actually engage it into a fight.

Perhaps it had been the distance that muddled the sea lion's vision. For when Raumr approached, paws slipping slightly on slick sand, the expression of the watery beast began to change. No, Raumr was not just some mild mannered and weak cat that would stand down and take the bullying. He was large, larger than most, and could confidently take on this creature. Well, mostly confident. He wasn't quite sure what it actually was, but nonetheless, he wasn't doing anything but traveling.
As his claws reach out to dig into the sea lion's blubber, sharp teeth and whiskers meet his shoulder. A stiff and thick flipper whacks him abruptly against the side, forcing him to stumble into the water. Droplets splash up over his body, dampening his coat. Frustration courses through him as he shoves back, teeth biting down once more as his arms try to find purchase around the slippery skin of the sea lion. If he had seen the small cat and her companions approaching, he might not have engaged in the fight, but now it was too late.

There would be no denying the surprise on his face as the penguins came in to assist. Since when were penguins aggressive? His brow furrows, distracted so much that the sea lion lands another slap to his face. A yowl of anger releases from his mouth, jaw opening wide before it lashes downward and onto the sea creature's face. Blood fills his mouth as his sharp teeth find purchase. The sea lion screams in response, bucking and twisting to now get away from him and the penguins. Fighting one large cat was far easier alone.
Raumr could sense its urgency to get away. He hadn't wanted to kill the beast anyway. Releasing quickly, he gives it hefty shove with his shoulder to launch it back into the waters. Drenched to the bone and exhausted, he turns to the penguins, hoping they too take the hint that the fight was over and the sealion wouldn't be bothering them. A smile lifts upon his scarred lips as he turns to the shore, spotting the orange kitten looking rightfully terrified.
Slowly, Raumr trudges up onto the land bridge, peering down at the orange furred cat. "We should leave the vicinity. Which way are you heading?" He inquires, head canting, extending a paw in offer to give the cat a ride upon his shoulders if she so wished.
