The morning sun filtered softly through the clouds down on the God's Garden, casting shadows across the verdant landscape as those clouds moved across the sun. The air was crisp and fresh, filled with the sweet scent of blooming flowers and the gentle hum of life awakening around her. Ellara stood near a small clearing, the remnants of dew still clinging to the leaves underfoot.
Before her, neatly laid out on a flat stone, were the dried Ghost Pipe Mushrooms she had carefully prepared over the past few weeks. Their once translucent stalks were now brittle and black, alongside a bundle of Valerian Root and collection of Willow Bark, all ready to be ground into a fine powder and steeped into a potent tincture. Beside the mushrooms, bark, and roots - she had also gathered a few simple tools: a small stone mortar and pestle for grinding, a clay pot for boiling, and a woven leather waterskin to hold the finish product.
Ellara took a deep breath, her heart filled with anticipation for the work ahead. She had learned so much through this process, and now she was ready to put it all together. But! She wasn't about to do this alone. Lifting her head, she let out a clear, melodic howl, calling for her dear friend, Atreyu. The sound echoed through the garden, carrying her invitation across the peaceful landscape. Hopefully it didn't attract any unwanted guests!
As she waited for Atreyu to arrive, Ellara couldn't help but feel a deep sense of connection to the world around her and the friend who had shared these experiences with her. This is where they met! This was not just about the tincture; it was abou tthe bonds they were forging and the knowledge they were cultivating together.

Atreyu made her way to the God's Garden, anticipation for the day ahead giving the spotted yearling a giddy feeling. Her mood was light and as a result, so was her companion's. Bigs trotted alongside Atreyu as she walked, his faithful little steps sure and quick as he picked his way through rocks and brush. All she waited on now was for Ellara to signal that she had arrived, so to pass the time, Atreyu picked through the herbs of the garden, getting familiar with what grew here and what could maybe be planted here to thrive later. Perhaps, one day, she could turn this place into a home of sorts - even if only for a short while. Maybe when the plants were all coming back in the spring, though Auster seemed to have a totally different climate than Boreas.
It wasn't long after she arrived and began to take stock of the plants here that she heard a call in a very familiar melodic voice. With a smile, Atreyu sang back to her friend to let her know she was close by. With a happy waving tail, Atreyu trotted to meet Ellara, Bigs running along behind the massive woman. Upon her arrival, Atreyu stops just a couple of paces away and sat back on her haunches, her forelimbs splayed open for a hug. "Ellara! I feel like it's been forever." She said playfully, though for her it had been ages. Then she pulled out the mushrooms she had gathered and prepared according to Ellara's direction, her satchel also held lavender and sage, which she also pulled out. "I'm not sure if we could use these here, but I brought them anyway. They are both relaxing herbs." Her youth shone through for a moment, a hopeful smile on her face.

Ellara’s heart warmed as she heard Atreyu’s familiar voice echo through the garden, a bright smile spreading across her face. She could already feel the lightness and energy her friend brought with her, and it lifted Ellara’s spirits even more. As Atreyu approached with Bigs in tow, Ellara stepped forward, meeting her halfway with a warm embrace. "Atreyu! It’s so good to see you," she said, her tone filled with genuine joy.
She stepped back, her eyes sparkling with excitement as Atreyu presented the carefully prepared mushrooms and the additional herbs. "These are perfect!" Ellara praised, her gaze shifting to the lavender and sage. "Lavender and sage will complement the Ghost Pipe beautifully. Lavender for relaxation and calming the mind, and sage for its purifying properties; it’s an excellent combination."
Ellara gestured to the stone slab where she had laid out the tools and dried mushrooms. "We’re going to make a powerful tincture today," she said, her voice filled with anticipation. "With these added herbs, it will be even more effective. Let’s get started!"
She carefully took the herbs from Atreyu, laying them out beside the other ingredients. "We’ll grind everything together first," Ellara explained, picking up the mortar and pestle. "Then we’ll steep it all to create a potent mixture that we can use for both pain relief and calming the mind. Your additions will make it even more versatile."
As she began to grind the mushrooms and herbs, Ellara couldn’t help but feel a deep sense of gratitude for this moment - working together with Atreyu to create something healing and strong. "Thank you for bringing these," she added softly, glancing up at Atreyu with a warm smile. "This is going to be something truly special."

Atreyu listened to her friend, learning all she could and copying her motions when asked. She was always there with a helpful paw to help make the process easier for the both of them, having fun with it as though they were pups making a witch's brew. The moment with Ellara took her back to her puppyhood, Atreyu smiling as they worked even as tears sprang up in her eyes. "It already is something special, thank you for being my friend." Atreyu said, watching as Ellara ground the ingredients together.
She readied a pot for boiling then, gathering sticks from close by and setting them up in a teepee around some dried grasses. Atreyu then took out a flint stone and struck it with her blade, as she blew the fire finally grew and she watched to see what Ellara would do with the herbs next. She was pretty sure they needed to steep, if she wan't mistaken. Bigs watched it all silently, simply in awe of how the two wolves worked seamlessly together. It was amazing to see such good chemistry between friends!
