Neptune had discovered a new continent, Boreas, the bird he had met called it. The songbird said that wolves dominated the lands though the stallion wasn’t worried about that. He felt confident in his ability to outrun any of the predators that chose to target him. His curiosities instead turned to the land that he had entered.

Hooves moved across grass as he stepped into the grove of trees. Willows, trees that he had only ever heard of before, grew tall with draping branches. They fell so low that by moving under each one you had a bit of privacy. They were interesting, Neptune thought. He sniffed at the leaves on one of the branches and decided to reach out and took a bite of the strange leaves.

There was regret in doing so.

They were strange, and there was plenty of the branch in the bite too. Making a face he used his tongue to push the mix. Nope, not for him! Ears twitched and head slowly turned skyward. So maybe he hadn’t found a nice snack, but this could be an okay place to sleep for the night. The sky was clear and stars lightly twinkled overhead, giving the area a calm feel. Here and there the soft lights of fireflies lit up before fading again.

“Wonder what this land is called...” He mused to himself.

Willows were a pain in the tail for a creature with antlers. The long tendrils of tree wrapped about Asa's antlers, catching and tearing the curtains of branches. Chunks of leaves flew through the air and the rosette covered mare grumbled in annoyance. Eventually the willows would thin out as she came to the older growth of the interior. Then she'd be able to breathe and her ire would lessen.

The dark lady gave her obsidian mane a shake, flecks of green leaves fluttering down to the ground. After that, she moved towards one of the many streams, lowering her velveteen nose to the cool water to slake her thirst. Once she lifted her head again, that was when she saw the galactic marked stallion standing near one of the willows. Interest sparked in the mare and she moved forward.

"Don't eat these," she spoke to the man, one antler slicing off a tendril of willow. "Sour. Not good for you. The bark though... White willow. Good for pain." Fiery eyes squinted slightly as Asa took another step forward. "Who you?"
