Her mother had tasked her with checking out the nearby Willows to see if they'd be worth expanding to. Medusa trusted Rue's judgment, and so the Bone Princess obliged. She was to bring along a few others to get their opinion as well, though considering Rue had been rather reclusive for most of her life, she wasn't familiar with most in the pack other than her own siblings. At least not on a first name basis sort of way. While she was sure she could do this herself, she figured maybe having a few more heads to discuss the pros and cons wouldn't be a bad idea...so when she arrived to the Willows, she called for a few others to join her here, and pronto! It was sweltering hot out, and she wanted to hurry up and get back to her cavern in the Gorge and resume her plans of potentially making a mushroom garden. She sat beneath a Willow, tail flicking behind her as she waited (im)patiently for the others to arrive.

There had been talk of expanding and although Tazzy wasn't doing much around the pack besides bothering Enki or making comfortable things, he promised his mother that he would help his sister with scouting out the willows and potentially expanding into it in the future. He couldn't say that he was excited to hear her call though, as his day had been already been long and he was eager to get back and take a nap in the arms of his boyfriend.
But, he'd promised. So he turned around and headed towards his sisters call and once she came into view, offered her a smile before taking a seat somewhere in front of her to wait for everyone else to arrive.

Willow branches brushed Identifications coat felt wonderful to the woman. Two of Medusa's children set out as emerald pools watched Rougarou followed by Phantasm. Medusa was talking aboutt expanding the pack, it wasn't hard to not hear since they all needed to work on their skills. A smile slipped across her maw as she called out before coming closer to the duo.
Lowering her skull to take a drink from a small pool that seemed it wouldn't last with the constant heat. But a much larger pool laid close to it, with the promise of fish and probably other prey would go there to drink. Identification however was a master with intellectual conversations. Willing to share her own information to the two other pack mates.
She needed to prove herself worthy of Insomnia she felt and the task at hand would allow her to do so. "Hello" she softly stated too the both of them.

"I will say The Bone Queen has good taste if she wants the Willows. It offers a lot of potential." He was always the straight forward and blunt one, but his wording was carefully thought about and placed. He learned that early, as if it was constantly drilled into him since pup hood. And with the drought that was coming with the heat of summer and occasional rains the pools would offer them prime hunting and constant herbs for the healers of the pack.

They arrived at last, and those that offered their greetings were met with a flick of her ear as she cleared her throat, eyeing each of them in turn. "Thanks for showing up. As you know, mother is looking to expand Insomnia, so we are here to discuss whether or not this land would be good for that." She sniffed as she gestured toward the willows and the pond. "I for one, think it's a good idea. There is water. Food. Herbs. Shade...safe storage perhaps, beneath the willows if one preferred to stash their goods there instead of at the Gorge for safe keeping." She flicked her tail as the heat of the summer droned on, and she did notice the water level of the pond seemed like it had drawn back some. Though she doubted it would ever completely empty out. She also didn't know if this place flooded during heavy rains...perhaps something to discuss as well. A plan of action, maybe. After all, anything could happen, no? So far, the only issue was the lower water level and the browning trees. But it was likely that once summer passed them by, and if they were lucky to get a good rain, they'd be rejuvenated. "With that in mind, what do you all think? Look around. Consider the strengths and potential weaknesses here..."

Others that he'd barely gotten to know had joined in, a pale woman and a pale man with dark splotches. He knew that he was family to the man his mother had been friendly with, but he couldn't place his or even the woman's name. He bet Enki knew who they were though and briefly felt a pang of guilt when he realized he might be the only one to not know. He could rectify that later however, now they all had an important job to do.
With a simple nod to Rou's request, Tazzy took a quick look around the willows. He'd been here before with Enki, a pleasant little day-trip to enjoy a nice picnic and each others company. They could do it a lot more if Insomnia took over the land, however... less privately. They could always find another private getaway though, so he wasn't too upset. It didn't matter where they were after all, as long as they were together.
"It's got a lot more to offer than the gorge and dancefloor by the means of food, fresh water, and herbs found here that aren't at the dancefloor or the gorge, plus the clay and mud can make pottery and build more stable structures. It would be a good territory to lay claim to," He said with a soft smile, wondering what the others would have to add.

Winter nights, we sang in tune Identification stood there listening as the others gathered close. Looking up towards that of the willow trees were the branchs had hung lower than other. Her eyes of emerald scanning over each and every single one. Taking in their width and possible structure and if they would bare the weight of the wolves that called Insomnia home. Her twin peaks shift upon her cranium as she turned to see Atticus even though she didn't completely know any of their names he had carried himself with dignity. The large brute spoke up soon enough, taking in their surroundings. He was correct, it did hold a lot of potential for the pack. Then that of a smaller wolf had spoken up. They all were right with their observations of the willows. "The branches of the willows could offer more protection during a raid or a battle." The cream woman hopped onto a low lying branch. The limb was large enough for her to walk across but only a short distant, and with that she was semi hidden. "I mean, during raids we could hide up here or even during hunting. And these branches we could use to help with hunting. I mean if we decide to make snares or traps." Identification moved to were she jumped onto the branch and jumped down off the limb of the willow. "The area however is easy for flooding, sure there are things that could be done to prevent that." Identification stated with a low tone. But the area was prime, even if the drought sucked life from everything. |
