A new class begins
Sprig

After having so many of her nieces and nephews not take an interest in healing she had been thrilled to finally have a student in Solaire and now it seemed like she might have a chance to be a teacher again with little Sprig. The girl seemed to be curious about the art of healing at least and she was more than happy to cultivate that curiosity. She headed out to the greenhouse with Sprig it tow, letting her in before closing the door and blocking out the cold behind them. Even the greenhouse wasn't immune from the frigid winter outside, making the sun-baked interior a little cooler than usual, but it was still noticeably warmer than outside. This is where we grow all of our most important and most frequently used herbs year round," she explained as she began to guide Sprig around the rows of various plants. She stopped in front of a bush with vibrant flowers that were various shades of orange, yellow, and red. Marigold was a fairly common flower, but she didn't know how much Sprig had already absorbed about the plants they used. "Do you know what this one is called?" she asked, pulling a flower from the bush and holding it down where Sprig could take a closer look and get a good smell of it.

Spriggan loved plants, that was no secret with the way she carried them on her back. Little pink flowers bloomed on her coat and beautiful ostrich ferns took hold on her back. There was at least one wolf who knew and took her passion for greenery seriously, and that was her aunt Gwyn. She followed her aunt now, headed to the greenhouse. She had been in here before, she knew how much of a refuge it was to the cold outside and it held some of the most interesting plants. Gwyn shut the door behind them, and Spriggan shook off the chill as her aunt began her little lesson within the walls.
Gwynevere pointed out a particularly warm flower, one of reds, golds, and oranges. She pulled it forward for the little girl to smell. ”Mmm.” she offered first, enjoying the scent. ”It's so pretty, but i don't know what it is.” She returned with a sad little shrug.

Gwyn smiled as Sprig took a moment to enjoy the scent of the flower, but once her niece told her that she didn't know what it was she began to explain, "This is called Marigold. The petals are a good option to add in to a treatment for a burn, cut, or sting to help it heal. It's a more common plant and they're very easy to spot so it's a good once to know in case you're ever out somewhere and need to put together a quick first aid solution and don't have supplies with you. You could have someone chew on them to help with a sore throat or gum pain. Plants can be fairly bitter though so if that's what I'm using it for I'll usually just make an extract and add it to honey to make it a little easier to take." Right next to the marigold was another flowering plant and Gwyn gestured to it, showing Spriggan the cluster of tiny red flowers. There was a larger portion of the flower bed taken up by this one. "This one is called valerian root. The root of this plant is really what we're after so I have to have more of this growing at a time and I re-plant it frequently, unlike the marigold that will continuously grow flowers we can harvest. Because of that I don't use valerian root as often, but it's a good option for any patients that are dealing with a cough, headaches, or insomnia. You have to be careful how much you use though because this one can upset a patient's stomach if they're given a lot of it."

Gwyn gave her a moment to take in the shape, the smell, and behold the flower before going in depth to what the flower was. A marigold, a flower of different colors and far more uses. It was no wonder that Gwyn had so many planted here in the greenhouse, it was so highly useful. "Marigold. Oh, wow…” Spriggan muttered quietly before her aunt went on.
The next was Valerian root. It was a plant with feathery like leaves, and small clusters of flowers on long stems. However the main plant wasn’t what they were really after, the useful part of the root. "So, I should try and harvest some roots whenever I’m out?” She asked curiously as she looked up at Gwyn.
"Spriggan Carpathius"
