one of those melodramatic fools

Tomfoolery, ratfuckery, and whatever else they were getting into-- it's really par for the course. Davey dragging Tide out into the wild blue yonder to find something to get themselves into. Leading his brother right into danger is probably the most effective use of his time, he's pretty sure. How else are they going to know how to deal with danger, right?
"Don't be such a bitch," he shoots at the smaller boy, scowling and splashing in the shallow water. Sure, the weather had been weird, and it was probably making the predators act weird too. Finally losing his patience, Davey stomps back to the shore and gives his brother an almighty shove. "Sink or swim, baitboy."
"Davey"

He does not like water. Tide has had a few too many run ins with the sea, and those who live within it. The pup has developed a fear, and not just a fear but... yeah. More than that. Phobia was probably the wrong word but just... he doesn't like it okay.
With an unceremonious shove, Davey sends him splashing into the icy waters of the Fjord. "You're a real cunt for that," stumbling forward, stepping off a hidden ledge, and splash. As Tide paddles for his life, at least sort of floating, he catches sight of a fin and a pale belly. Eyes going wide, fighting to keep his head above water, the boy shrieks. "There's a fucking shark down there!" Fear in his wide eyes as the beast closes in, Tide is nowhere near quick enough to paddle to shore.
They're going to have to fight their way out of this one. Turning and snapping at the beast as he tries to return to where he can reach the rocky bottom of the Fjord's waters, Tide is already starting to panic.

The old Quill would have let the children below succumb to their fate. He would have walked away and just let the circling shark enjoy its meal without a second thought. Had Talyssa really softened him up that much? It soured the brutes mood a bit.
Quill had been resting upon a ledge overlooking the fjord when he noticed the pair of pups screwing around down below. Ears shifted, catching their words and a soft huff of amusement was released as the dominant of the pair took advantage of the weaker. That was, until he pushed the submissive pup into the water. Cold blooded. Old Quill would have been proud. New Quill sighed, pulled himself to his paws, and moved down the pine spattered mountainside.
The grey and white giant picked his way onto a ledge that stuck out over the water, checking in on the pair. He noted that the shark was coming in closer and huffed in annoyance. Planting his paws, Quill leaped off of the ledge and plummeted into the water below. His big body landed right upon that of the shark and he could feel the rough skin scrape up his pads. Jaws opened wide and he bit hard into the dorsal fin. The big fish thrashed in surprise and tried to turn, but Quill was pressed so tightly against it that he was... unbiteable.
