Kolt's nose twitched as he caught the scent of yarrow on the breeze. His large paws moved with a soft grace, barely disturbing the damp grass still wet with dew from the night before. The God's Garden lay before him, a sprawling expanse of untamed greenery and vibrant blooms. His sharp, piercing blue eyes scanned the clearing, taking in every detail. In the distance, he could see the crumbling remains of an ancient stone wall.

Kolt's blue eyes scanned the area curiously, his tail swishing behind him. He had stumbled upon this place quite by accident, having wandered farther than usual. His ears perked forward as he took in the sights and smells. With spring in full swing, it was a welcoming burst of life after the winter they had just endured.

But of course, he was out here for a reason. His focus was drawn to a small patch of feathery-leaved plants nestled within the ruins - the yarrow he had been searching for. Kolt approached carefully, his cautious steps mindful of any uneven ground that could trip him up. With each step, he couldn't help but be drawn in by the delicate white flower clusters that danced gently in the fresh spring air, beckoning him closer.

The tiny girl had spied her bigger brother Kolt disappearing out of the castle so she had followed after him curiously. Her tiny white paws followed in his own steps that disturbed the dew upon the grasses. He led her unwittingly to the god’s gardens where everything was lush and green and beautiful. She was stunned for a moment at the gorgeous scenery as Kolt made his way to his destination.

Spriggan raced forward, her tail swishing happily as her own foliage swayed on her back. "Kolt!” She called out to him as she did her best to catch up to him, not oblivious to the flourishing plants that he was headed towards. "Oh! Is that yarrow?” She asked him curiously as she made it to his side.

Kolt's ears swiveled at the sound of his name, followed by the pitter-patter of small paws. He turned his head to see Spriggan bounding towards him, her tiny form a blur of white and green against the vibrant backdrop of the garden. Kolt's expression softened as he watched his sister approach. "Spriggan," he said, his voice a mix of affection and mild exasperation. "You shouldn't have followed me out here. It could be dangerous."

Despite his words, he couldn't help but feel a small surge of pride at her quick identification of the plant. "Yes, it is yarrow," he confirmed, turning back to the delicate white flowers. "I need to collect some for... a project." He paused, considering how much to share with his curious sister. Kolt carefully grasped a stem between his teeth, gently pulling to break it free from the ground. The sweet, herbal scent of yarrow filled his nostrils as he placed it carefully on the ground beside him before reaching back to collect more.

Kolt greeted her, but his warning was lost on her. She was just as resilient as any of her brothers despite her size. Sprig wouldn’t argue though, just waved off his words as she came to a halt beside him. She had Prose and her own wits, there wasn’t anything that could harm her. Her big brother, who sometimes felt like her older brother, confirmed her suspicion that they were looking at a yarrow plant. She could tell by both the feathery leaves and the pleasant scent.

She shuffled forward as he went on, mentioning some mysterious project that he was working on. "Oh! Can I help?” She asked expectantly as she too went to work on collecting the plant. "I don’t remember, can we use the roots?” Her favorite plant, the dandelion, was fully usable and she couldn’t quite remember a use for the roots. She tried to think before she started to harvest.

Kolt paused in his harvesting, considering Spriggan's question. "The roots have some medicinal properties, but for this particular project, we just need the flowers and leaves," he explained patiently. "And yes, you can help. Just be careful not to take too much from any one plant. We want to leave enough for them to regrow."

Kolt demonstrated the proper technique for harvesting, delicately snipping the yarrow stems a few inches above the ground with precise movements. "Do you see how I'm leaving most of the plant untouched?" he asked, gesturing towards the remaining greenery surrounding them. "This way, it can continue to thrive and provide us with more resources in the future if needed." His voice carried a sense of reverence as he spoke of the plants, showing a deep respect for their natural cycle of growth and renewal.

Since they were really just harvesting for Kolt’s mysterious project all they were going to need today was the leaves and the flowers. Some other day she could bring home roots but with no real need, and knowing aunty Gwyn probably had plenty stored up, it was better to leave the plants be. As her brother explained, they needn’t harvest anything they wouldn’t use now. They could leave the plants to reproduce and multiply for the next time they needed them. Spriggan had to admit that made a lot of sense.

"Yes, I see.” Spriggan returned curiously as she bent forward, and emulating her brother, started to gather the plant as well. Leaving most of it untouched as she gathered flowers and leaves. The scent of the plant filled her senses as she blissfully gathered it.
