The cold bit deep into Oath’s magenta fur as he padded alongside Fairytale through the shadowed halls of the abandoned hotel. The building groaned in protest against the wind whipping outside, its once-pristine walls now a tapestry of vines and peeling paint. The cracks in the ceiling and refectiveness of his horns illuminated their path just enough to avoid loose debris. He turned to check on Fairytale, his cyan eyes softening with concern. She looked tired, her steps slower than usual, but she was here, by his side. That was all that mattered.

“We’ll find somewhere warmer soon, love,” he murmured, his voice steady despite the worry in his chest. Oath’s gaze swept the corridor ahead, spotting a door slightly ajar. He nudged it open carefully with his nose, revealing a spacious room with faded carpets and a fireplace still stocked with ancient wood. The air felt less biting here, almost inviting.

“This’ll do,” he said, stepping in and testing the floor cautiously before signaling Fairytale to follow. He began gathering bits of stray wood and torn fabric to start a fire, his heart warming at the thought of sharing a quiet moment with her, safe from the icy night. “What do you think? We’ll rest here. Together.”

It was bitter outside, a low rumble emitted from Fairytales throat for only a moment. Twin peaks perked to listen to her beloved boyfriend Oath. She still wasn't feeling the best in all honesty and Fairytale worried about Oath becoming ill as well. It worried her completely. Shivering from the biting winds that whipped and howled about outside as they moved within the building. Orbs of soft rose pigment widened at the sight before her, never witnessing anything like this before.

The pale woman listened to Oath as he spoke, giving a nod. Knowing that all the masculine wanted to do was protect her and himself. She felt that as well - wanting to protect him more than herself. Finding their way into the corridor and then a door slightly nudged open. Oath helped with it to be more open. The room was large, carpets faded from the weather and not being cleaned in a long time it appeared. The center piece was the glorious fire place, but not knowing if it was safe to build one, a ear splayed to the side as she looked to Oath.

"It will do, blankets upon a bed will help keep us warm and cozy also. I don't know if we should trust the fire place." She smiled tenderly in his direction. Smiling as she wandered into another room. Old towels filled with dust hung against the wall, maybe a good shake would do? As Fairy gathered some and banged them against the wall. A puff of dust. She did this a few times as moving towards the rugs already in the center of the room.

"A blanket if we could find one and some pillows? We could go search for a couple for more comfort if you'd like my darling Oath." The connection between the pair was already strong. Doubting that they would find any blankets that weren't destroyed from rats, mice, birds and owls to build their nests, but she would try. A cough, then another. Probably from the dust she inhaled from the other room. Wanting his intake on her ideas though.

The horned wolf watched Fairytale quietly, admiring how she moved about the room whilst determined to make them comfortable - even if she was exhausted. His cyan eyes followed her pale form as she worked, shaking the dusty towels and braving the sneezes the air seemed eager to provoke. He chuckled softly, his voice warm despite the chill in the room.

"You are right. Blankets and pillows would be safer than testing this old fireplace," he admitted, glancing toward the hearth. The thought of smoke backdrafting into the room was enough to quell his initial eagerness to use it. "Let's see what we can scavenge, then. If anyone can make this place feel like a home, it's you."

He moved to her side, his large frame brushing gently against hers affectionately. "Stay close, love. I don't want us getting separated in this maze of rooms." Oath pressed a quick kiss to her ear before stepping toward a partially collapsed dresser in the corner of the room.

Pulling open a creaky drawer, he found a worn but intact quilt folded at the bottom. Dusty, yes, but it would serve. He held it up with a grin slowly spreading across his lips, his horns casting a faint red reflection over the find. "Not much, but it's a start."

His gaze softened as he noticed her shiver again, a hint of a cough escaping her lips. "We'll make this place comfortable, Fairy. And when we rest, I'll hold you close and keep the cold away. Let's search a little longer and then settle in for the night."

Exhaustion was apparent upon Fairytales facial features, pausing every now and again as the creamy silver woman moved about the room. Smiling to Oath as he stated softly about the fireplace may not be the best idea at all. Fairytale was thinking, getting lost within her thoughts for a moment, the kiss he had lovingly placed upon her bringing her back down to earth. A smile and a nod was given. "I plan on not venturing too far, there is some planks of flooring missing on the floor so you also be careful."

Eyes of light rose cast to the bed, sure it was beat up and dusty, and some legs busted. The bed was slanted and not in the good ways either. "It looks comfortable, but I just want to feel you close also." Placing the towels in the center of the room, smiling as he found a quilt, her tail waving behind her. "Oh, what a wonderful find. I'm thinking maybe another room will offer another blanket or towels?" A sheepish grin spread across her lips.

It wasn't hard to see that she already adored the hell out of Oath, how couldn't one love and adore such a caring gentleman. Sure every now and again a cough would escape, but she was determined to make it as comfortable as she could for the duo. She moved up against Oath and dipping her head under his then turning her head to place a kiss upon his cheek.

She was excited knowing that the rest of the band was close by finding their own rooms or uses of a room. Fairytale soon moved from the room, eyes scanning the hallways as sniffing the air, that is before the woman picked a route and moved down the hallway, not being too sure with the right side, while the left side was slightly more promising. But honestly, to her it didn't matter. She wanted to make sure that Oath was safe and warm. "Going to go check another room m'love."

Eyes spotting a room slightly open, some flooring missing Fairytale snorted sharply, Needed another blanket or two. Another room and just like their pick of a room was and appeared to be promising. Turning her head towards their room she gave a few yips sending birds to the sky. Moving into the room, she headed towards the bathroom and grabbing a few things she can. Banging what she could off the wall causing yet another series of sneezing.

"I fount some more things!" Stating excitedly as her tail wagging as she placed the towels down outside of the door she went back in, a collapsed dresser with the drawers opened revealing yet another quilt, pulling and tugging at it offering growls as she finally freed it. It gave way, she grinned as she pranced, nosing the towels into the hallways even more.

He kept close to Fairytale as she moved, his reflective horns catching faint flickers of light that bounced along the room’s faded walls. Her strength shone through despite her obvious exhaustion, and he felt inspired just watching her push forward.

When she kissed his cheek, he couldn’t help but smile and gently nuzzle her back. "You’re incredible," he murmured softly. "Just promise me you won’t push yourself too far. I couldn’t bear it if something happened to you."

As she left to explore the hallway, Oath carefully unfolded the quilt he had found, laying it over the pile of dusty towels. It wasn’t much, but he hoped it would be enough to make her feel cared for. Hearing her sharp yips echo down the corridor, he let out a small laugh, the sound lightening his own heart. She always had a way of bringing warmth to even the coldest moments.

When she returned with her treasures, a mix of dusty towels and another quilt, Oath’s lips spread over his teeth to grin widened. "You’ve outdone yourself," he said, nudging her shoulder affectionately. "This will make all the difference."

Together, they dusted everything off and built a soft pile to rest on. Once it was ready, Oath pulled her into a gentle embrace, his warmth shielding her from the chill. "Let’s call it a night, love. You’ve done more than enough. I’m so lucky to have you."

find a reason to smile everyday

As she returned with the blanket and towels a smile grazing her lips as soft petal pools fall onto that familiar frame of Oath, her tail danced wildly around behind her, even though she surely was tired from the venturing threw what appeared to possibly be a old hotel from a park, or just a getaway. She listened to the words that fall from his lips. “You’ve outdone yourself, this will make all the difference.” She felt the affectionate nudge also that was placed upon her shoulder.

Soon their nest was complete, light creamy and silver waving behind her due to her tail dancing wildly with excitement. "Let’s call it a night, love. You’ve done more than enough. I’m so lucky to have you." Did he not realize that she was the lucky one, curling up against him. Her words almost like whispers against the night. "We’ve done more than enough. And no matter where I am, you are my home." Fairytale hoped that he known he was her home, no where else could ever replace how she felt about the magenta brute, not with how deeply she truly adored him in such a short amount of time.
