Location: The Shimmering Shore
Ballad had been extending his horizons in the lands closest to The Hallows. He had followed Kolt up past the bifrost a couple times without finding too much trouble. But he did prefer to be closer to home incase of a bad case scenerio. He was a rather safe boy and tried not to be a burden to his mother.
He had seen the shimmering shores from the castle, but it seemed in the light of day they didn't have the same drawing effect he was interested in seeing. He stood on the warming shores and just watched as they pushed and pulled from the coast. He wondered what kind of fish he could catch in the waters, or what other sorts of wildlife may have passed through here. Just a curious young mind.

Spriggan felt curiosity pique as she watched Ballad wander out of the castle lands from the window she was sitting in front of. Still doing her best to learn to read, trying to understand the letters on the page. It was enough to start giving her a headache so seeing her brother walking off gave her enough of an excuse to leave her current studies.
She didn’t spend much time on the shores, in the way of plants there were not so many to harvest to study on the land. As she followed after Ballad she finally had the idea to turn to the sea. It was already an interesting place with the glowing waters, surely that meant there could be something beneath the waves?
"What’cha doin, Ballad?” She asked with a tilt of her head as she finally caught up with him.

The familiar sound of his sister wouldn't bother him as she joined him on the beach, Ballad looking back to her form before looking back to the sea. It was a sea familiar to the castle, but perhaps much calmer. The beach hosted a nice flat surface for the shore to push and pull against. The castle had more abrupt rocky terrain that made the waves crash and fly at peak times of the day. It was much more calming here not that the castle was chaotic generally speaking.
"I was hoping the ocean would be glowing but I guess it only does that at night." He stated easily before looking around at the sands under their paws, "I guess there wouldn't be anything more interesting for you here." Knowing his sister dunked in plant knowledge would be on his mind while she was here. But he wasn't sure if there were any plants that would thrive on the shifty soil of the beach. It would be something to learn if so.

She had to admit that the beach was nice, but it wasn’t particularly hospitable to the plants that she sought after for her healing skills. She skittered forward as Ballad acknowledged her presence. She moved closer to the shore line, her brilliant blue and lavender eyes searching the sea for interesting plants. She was delighted to find a green substance washing up against the sand.
Ballad was sad that the waters were not glowing, and he wasn’t so obtuse to realize there wasn’t much for her to find on the sand. "Don’t worry, I can always find something.” She told him as she dipped her tiny paw into the water and covering it with the bright green ‘plants.’ "Don’t worry about me. I can always find something.” She looked back up at him and smiled. "I think this is Sea Lettuce, it’s helpful in digestive issues as well as thyroid problems.” She told him, doubting he would remember but telling him anyway.

He wagged his tail slightly as Sprig had found something worth mentioning, the trip for her wasn't pointless not that it was much of a trip at all. He looked at the seagrass as she swirled her paw around it, he couldn't say he'd be interested in eating it in it's natural form straight out of the ocean. He could imagine his sister, or perhaps some other great healer, knowing ways to make it bearable or even enjoyable. But just like this? He'd rather pass.
"Do you think it's better depending on the season? Or is it always just ready for the picking?" Part of him was interested, but another part was hoping that Sprig would know or challenge herself. He had a lot of confidence in his sister's knowledge at least or will to learn.
His attention did draw from the grass for the moment, looking over the light sands of the spring beach. "I wonder if we can find any crabs here as well." Not that he wanted to eat them, he just thought they were pretty cute shifting through the sand and digging their holes. He was much more a red meat kind of guy anyways. And he had a soft spot for most things.

Spriggan couldn’t deny how much she enjoyed having a live audience to tell what she knew about. With her reading coming along she was able to expand her knowledge a hundredfold. However difficult focusing on the old musty books really was. Ballad even engaged with her as she tried to tell him about the sea plant. He asked curiously if now was the best time to harvest. "I… don’t actually know. I think I could find out though!” She told him in her usual chipper manner. She hadn’t even been afraid to say she did not know. "I think it’s mostly fine right now, see how bright green it is?”
She continued to fish out the plant, placing bits on her mossy back, trying extra hard not to get any sand on her plants. They would stay mostly moist on her mosses though she didn’t know how well her moss would cope with the salt water dripping on it. That would be a problem for later. "Have you caught crabs before?” She asked her brother as she fished a bit more Sea Lettuce from the sea.

He was glad Sprig wasn't asking him to carry some of the sea lettuce, though he would have had she asked. Usually he would jump in and just help regardless. But yeah, he was being a bit of a baby about this one. A little dirt was fine, but something slimy about the ocean greens didn't sit well with him. They all had their little quirks.
"No," Ballad responded as Spriggan had asked about him hunting crabs, maybe a little shy-bothered on the thought. "I think they are kind of cute actually." He admitted, though to his sister he wouldn't feel embarrassed over it. "Do you think we can come see the beach at night sometime?" He asked, hoping she would like the invitation. It wasn't like he had friends or well, he hadn't really tried. But even if it was his siblings he had to start somewhere. Maybe someone would ask him to go on an adventure sometime too.
