Enyo's movements were fluid. Her strikes were sharp and precise, not enough to actually harm the boy but enough to make each blow hurt. Her frame could easily overpower him, but breaking his spirit was not her goal. But the woman didn't want to hand him anything either. She knew how to maintain control, how to anticipate every shift in his little body.
It was all so predictable. Hades, for all his determination, was no match for her experience and strength. But perhaps, in time, he could become something promising. Something dangerous. They did have the blood of her brother after all.
But then something unexpected happened. A slight misstep, a slip of her paw in a small slick patch of mud. Suddenly, her balance faltered. She tumbled forward, her stomach hitting the earth with a sharp and heavy thud, and her breath was knocked out of her for a moment. It was an uncharacteristic slip, one that left her vulnerable for the briefest of moments.
Hades saw it; her eyes moved to see his face light up with the satisfaction of what he clearly mistaken as a victory. Misplaced confidence. He smirked, and his little chest rose with pride.
Did he not realize it was luck?
Did the stupid brat think he could truly beat her?
Enyo's breath caught, anger flaring as the incredulity of it all caused her to boil. She never slipped. Not like that. Not when she had trained for every possible outcome, prepared for every weakness. But here she was, on the ground. With an ego more bruised than her body. She could feel the heat of fury rising in her chest and she wasted no time in standing. Her blue eyes blazing
Before Hades could even react, Enyo lunged at him. Her massive paw swinging with a force that sent his body crashing to the ground. The slap reverbated through the air and travelled across the barren lands. Bouncing off the rocks.
"Νομίζεις ότι έχεις κερδίσει;" Enyo's voice was a thunderous growl, raw with rage, "Είσαι απλά ένα παιδί, Άδη. Ποτέ δεν θα μπορούσες να με βελτιώσεις. Ποτέ δεν θα με νικήσεις. Κανείς δεν μπορεί. Καταλαβαίνεις? Αυτός είναι ο πραγματικός κόσμος που λίγο mutt! Δεν έχετε ιδέα πόσο δύσκολο είναι!" She loomed over him, her chest heaving. He would never know what it meant to struggle would he? He would never suffer through tests of the same caliber than Nike forced Erebros and her to experience. This insipid little brat would always have it easy...
Wouldn't he?
Because of the blood on her maw and the sweat on her back. Because of Erebros' hard work. These pups would grow sof,t wouldn't they? Because of their tainted mother.
Angry thoughts spiraled into Enyo's mind—hormonal rage and irrational wrath. He wouldn't be allowed to be soft, not under her watch. Tough love wouldn't break any Dunamis; Enyo would be the chisel that shaped them.
"Δεν έχεις ιδέα τι σημαίνει να είσαι δυνατός. Είστε ένα αδύναμο κουτάβι που δεν είχε καν μια γεύση της εκπαίδευσης. Δεν έχετε καν εξελιχθεί στις δυνατότητές σας. Σκουπίστε αυτό το ηλίθιο μικρό χαμόγελο από το πρόσωπό σας που χαζεύετε." The words spilled out in a hot unrelenting wave, the bitterness in her voice was palpable. Her teeth grounded together as she seethed, eyes locked onto the small boy with pure venom.
Without waiting for a response, she lunged forward again, her body a blur of movement, charging at him, "ΣΗΚΩΘΕΊΤΕ ΆΔΗΣ!", she roared, "Δεν έχεις μάθει τίποτα ακόμα, αλλά εγώ θα είμαι ο δάσκαλός σου. Αποδείξτε ότι αξίζετε να είστε Dunamis. Τώρα"
Her muscles tensed as she quickly closed the distance between them. To crush any place of doubt, any thought that he could have bested her in the first place. She was done with the game. It was time for him to truly understand just what she was.
It was time for a real test.

Hades was quick to take advantage of his aunt falling, a proud smile upon his face as he claimed his victory. His chest swelled with the pride that simmered there, and as he shifted expecting to see pride or something similar in his Aunt's eyes he was met with anger. And for a moment, he was confused.
And then she was on him, flinging him away from her and crashing him into the ground. His body came to life with pain that sprung from every point his body made contact with the earth, and he could hold back the yelp that sputtered from him. Eyes widening as they look up at Enyo, confused, hurt, and even a simmering emotion of betrayal flitting through them. But he did not speak as she roared at him in Greek, he did not tremble, did not cry, just stared at her.
She went on, claiming how he would never beat her, how no one could, calling him a mutt. His ears pinned to his head in response, out of everyone, he did not expect the words of his aunt's anger to be so sharp, and cutting towards him. Yes, he knew of trials, of fights, of physical cruelty, but this hurt in a way he was not used to.
Her continued onslaught of such wrathful words pierced him, shifting something within the pup that sprung and made him flinch at her. He had only done as she had said, yet he was on the receiving side of her assault. He thought the family was supposed to respect, trust, and most importantly care for one another. But the disdain, the bitterness in her voice, it spoke of hatred. And it had him in complete and utter shock, not daring to breathe as she lunged at him.
He could feel her hot breath on his face as he roared at him, and he did as she commanded. He stood up, hot tears sprung to his eyes, welling there as he stared at her. Her threats made him shudder, but as a tear found its course down his cheek his expression changed. Lip lifted into a snarl as he stared back at her, anger storming inside of his chest fueled by the hurt she had caused. She demanded more from him, and he would deliver. He was many things, but the most important thing to him was that he was a Dunamis. And no one, not even his Aunt, could change that.
She was closing the distance between them, and he would not give her space, he would not step back from the fight. There would be no signs of weakness, no signs of faltering from the pup. Disdain and fury were a weapon, a defense, that was only growing stronger by the minute, only developing into something more with the more pressure Enyo placed upon him.
His teeth bared as he flung himself against her, he was young but even then he was large. He had his weapon and armor, and he tilted his head down. Aiming to slam the horned bit of his helmet into her shoulder. If she wished to draw blood, wished to teach him a lesson, he would obey, he would relent to the craving of bloodlust that Redrum had shown him.
No matter if his helmet's horn bore into her flesh or not, he was turning his head up dragging it upwards as he aimed to practically climb her front end. His bear claws sought to drag into her flesh, goring the front end of her right leg and shoulder if able.
For the first time ever, Hades experienced true anger. True unfiltered, unchangeable, fury. It dragged down his spine, and his hackles raised in its wake. Dunamis or not, his Aunt was wrong about him.

***all of enyo's words are in Greek, I'm just too lazy to translate it rn
Enyo's eyes narrowed as she watched the flicker of confusion and hurt that flashed across his face. She could see it in his eyes, the shock, the disbelief. This child was wounded by her words and Enyo felt nothing but disdain for that weakness in him.
Good.
He will get over it just as she had gotten over the verbal daggers thrown at her by Nike. It was all for the better, to strengthen her just as this was to strengthen Hades.
But then, something changed. She saw it. The sorrow morphed into anger. The tightening of his jaw, the fire that began to burn in his eyes. It was anger. She recognized it in an instant, the same fierce, unyielding flames that fueled her own rise. The need to prove them wrong. Good. This was good. If she could open that wound and cause him enough pain to always pull on, he would be fearsome.
Her chest tightened with an unexpected thrill at the sight of it. This was what she wanted. She struck the nerve she needed to, pushing him beyond his soft puppy limits. Forcing him into a rage that would temper him into a blade. The sadness that was painted across his face had now shifted into the fury that had always been her greatest weapon.
Any wounded ego gave way to pride. She had, even if unintentionally, done something that was good in her eyes. But could Hades properly wield it? She watched him launch herself at her, the first real attempt he had made to fight back. His horned helmet slammed into her shoulder, and while it wasn't enough to cause her to stumble, it did hold some promise. Some weight that could be used as a testament to Hades' pedigree. She stood her ground, feeling the sting of his bear claws as they raked across her leg, a sharp pain that made her growl low in her throat.
This was exactly what she wanted.
"You think you're a Dunamis now? You're half mortem little boy. Are you going to show me what side you take after more?" Rage wasn't everything. Medusa had rage, in her own ways. Redrum did too. But were they as controlled and methodical in their release as the Dunamis? "You'll never be one in anyone's eyes till you prove it. Not until you prove you can offer more than just tantrums and tears." Enyo's voice was dripping with mockery as she glared at him. It pleased her more than she cared to admit. To be given such power. To be give the wet clay and able to shape it with her paws as she saw fit. Anger was a tool, a weapon, and if he couldn't harness it he would remain as nothing.
Yet, despite her harsh words there was a flicker of pride buried deep inside her. She would never show it, of course, but she did see the fire in him as spoke to the fire in her. It was the start of something hopefully dangerous, something that could one day make him powerful.
She did not wait for him to respond if she didn't have to; her stance shifted. Her paw moved to slap him again, and she reached to snap her jaws around his scruff. Should she be successful in her grab, she would pick him up and slam him down.

His assaults had landed yet he still felt his blazing fury growing in his chest, this anger that shifted so uncomfortably in his gut. He hated this, and at this moment, he hated his Aunt. Briefly, he knew it was a fleeting emotion, something that would die off after the adrenaline that consumed him left his veins. As she taunted him, mocked him, and sunk her venomous words deep into his mind, he just snarled. Metal teeth caps gleamed in the sun as he lunged back at her, teeth aiming for her throat. Brutality called to him like an old friend, settling inside of him like it was his birthright.
Hades was shifting, unlocking a darker part of him, shifting his mind closer to that of the Dunamis line, to that of his sometimes tyrannical father, even if he himself did not know it yet. Teeth would snap close whether or not they landed, and as he felt her stance shift, he narrowed his eyes. A roar of a growl escaped his throat, new yet not unpleasant in the aggression it spoke of. As her teeth dug into his scruff, he was quick to rip himself away. He could feel a thin cut in his skin, could feel the sweltering pain beginning to bloom across the skin as blood beaded up there.
But Hades did not flinch, did not whine, he accepted the pain, accepted the fury that continued to catch fire inside of his body. So he lunged again, paying attention to his Aunt's footwork as he aimed another tearing bite into her flesh, this time aiming for the same shoulder he had already damaged. Only craving to worsen the wound that was already there.
