On The Mountain Path

Hmm... Such a strange island he had come across. It wasn't like the typical view of an island that one might have. Mountains rose all around, encouraging the multitoned brute to travel further. Paws would lead Arwel forward, curious scents reaching his nose of different creatures. They were unfamiliar -- some that of prey and some that of other predators. He would look back down the path he came, past the jagged rocks, drops, and trees, flicking his tail with uncertainty. This would just be a temporary stop. He wished for a pack... not somewhere he could live as a loner. But grabbing a snack here before he moved on wouldn't be such a bad idea.
Despite the spring weather, the farther Arwel traveled up into the mountain island the colder it became. He would shiver slightly, ears perked forward as blue eyes scanned the terra ahead of him. Finding a set of tracks he would come to a pause, leaning down to sniff at them. They belonged to a rabbit... but they were old. A soft sigh would escape Arwel's maw. Perhaps finding a meal would not be so simple after all.
Arwel would let out a soft sigh, ears perking up at a sound. The brute would drop into a hunting crouch, creeping close to the bushes in front of him. What was within, he wondered? A curious sniff of the air would reveal nothing to the brute. He was downwind. Which meant...
He broke forward, but whatever had been in the bushes had taken notice of him first, taking off at high speed. After crashing through the undergrowth Arwel found himself alone. A frustrated sigh escaped the brute. Ah well... he had all day to hunt... and hunting was just the fun he got to experience before eating.

I can trust The femme had been brought to the island, drawn to the snowy peaks. She had been on Nephilim Island, her home when she had swam back to the mainland. Spotting the island not far out to sea. She had rested and eaten, regaining his strength from the swim to the mainland. Then headed out. She had definitely been rewarded, she had been greeted by a few desolate shacks left by humans long ago. They didn't exactly look stable, and she didn't want to risk going in. But she had spotted a mountain, and she had a hunch that there would be prey up there. About two hours later she was halfway up. She stopped to rest. It was then she spotted him. A man. A mixture of browns and creams, bright blue optics stood out the most. She smiled. Hello there, she said from where she was sitting. |

A soft, feminine voice would draw Arwel from his thoughts of his spoiled hunt. Blue orbs would lift to the form of a fae, and the multi-toned brute would flick his tail in greeting. She held the scents of others, though they were faint. Of course when one had to swim to get to the islands it wasn't surprising that the scents that they would have on their bodies would be faded. For a moment Arwel would pause, and then he would take a step towards the female, dipping his head in greeting.
"Hello yourself, madam." Arwel would come to a stop, ears twitching atop his head. "I am Arwel, and as you can likely tell, a loner. I'm new to the lands of Alacritia. You are?" The brute would raise to his full height, examining the female before him. Her deep purple orbs were incredibly dark, though they did not seem unfriendly. Her coat, although it was more naturally colored, was not at all lacking in beauty either. Arwel found himself wanting to ask more about this female... but he would wait patiently for his turn.
