Rain. It came suddenly and with little warning. The day had been cloudy to begin with, offering only faintest glimmers of sunlight here and there, though overall the day was quite dreary. The possibility of rain was not a bad thing, for the earth would suffer without it -- but she didn't like being caught away from home when it began. The girl with the dual-colored pelt would persist walking through a great deal of the rain, flattening her ears to her skull as it began to fall.

It wasn't long before she began to resemble a soaked rodent, and her formerly pleasant mood would dampen as quickly as her fur. A sigh escaped the near-yearling's lips as she pressed forward, squinting to shield her eyes from the rain and wind that had begun to pick up. Her blue gaze would search the distance, hoping to find some kind of temporary shelter.

She was pleasantly surprised to find a cavern nearby, and with ease she would slip into the darkness. Ara felt relief as she slid into the apparent comfort of the structure, but she also felt a strange sense of uncertainty. The young Seracian girl did not know how far back the darkness went, but she also was knew with utmost certainty that she did not care to find out. She slid against the damp wall of the cavern, peering quietly from the entrance, and wondered when the storm might pass.

The poor girl had already been wet today; the swim from the island had soaked her to the bone and exhausted her as well. It had been a long and difficult swim as she struggled with her swollen belly. She could not guess just how far along she was but she hoped that she didn?t have to much more to go, she had been small to begin with and with the swelling she was made to look absolutely tiny, with a comically distended belly. Elliot flapped above her, leathery wings beating at the air and she drew some comfort in seeing him spiral above her.
Suddenly though he was dropping towards her, wings folding against his amber bodice and aiming for her back. The white girl stopped to allow him to land, wincing slightly as he dug clawed thumbs into her fur some. ?Can you feel that?? He asked climbing up to between her shoulder blades. ?Storm coming.? Alamea lifted her gaze and quirked an eyebrow, the sky did look clouded over but the sun seemed to be doing its best to shine through. ?If it gets any worse I will head back.? She promised the bat.
True to form the win began to pick up and she found herself in the middle of a down pour. Ears laying flat and flying fox huddled between her shoulders she fought against the driving rain, her first thought on the precious life growing within her. She needed to find shelter, for herself, for her little companion but mostly for the pups within her. She spotted a cavern through the rain and tilting her head down and hunching her shoulder she fought her way towards it. Finally pushing her way through the opening she shook the rain from her pelt, unaware of the other wolf within the cavern at first. Lifting her rose colored gaze to view the young wolf.

She was wary of the cavern, but not afraid -- it was the rain that was a bit more worrisome. Ara was okay with being away from home for a day or so, but in this kind of weather, she knew they would begin to worry about her. And the last thing she wanted was either of her parents coming to look for her. It would be too far of a journey for them, and for no reason. She could take care of herself, even though she was hardly more than ten months old.

The girl would shuffle down, letting her head drape over her paws. The cavern was damp and slick, but much better than lying down in the rain outside, and so she would not complain even silently to herself. She could certainly be in worse situations. Here she was safe and alone and...

She caught scent of someone unfamiliar to her, and she would stiffen involuntarily. This wasn't a good place to be caught alone, but she had no option other than to retreat further into darkness. Instead, she would simply remain sitting, watching as a ivory-furred woman approached the cavern's entrance and entered near her. "I.." She began. It would be impossible to avoid talking to her; Ara did not hate the presence of others, but much like her father, she was naturally independent and quiet-natured. "I am sorry if this place is yours. I was only seeking shelter." She didn't know if that was the case, but she would gladly retreat into the rain so as to not offend or upset this stranger. Such was her nature.
