Ash coated the land, hung in the air and dirtied the water. Not as bad as some lands, but it was still ever present. It clung to the black pelt of the body abandoned there, caked on the blood-matted shoulder and leg, clogging his eyes and nose, but he wasn't quite capable of caring at that moment.

This was Hati, dropped on the border like so much trash after he'd lost the fight with the alpha of Glaciem. Whether he had been dragged all the way here or if he'd managed to drag himself here in his delirium, Hati didn't know.

At the moment, Hati didn't know much of anything. He had fallen unconscious from blood loss after the fight, and hadn't fully regained it in the time since then. Even after such a short time the wound on his shoulder and the puncture marks on his foreleg were already hot with infection, the fever drying out his nose and making his tongue swell. He looked like he was already dead. Hati was, however, just too damn stubborn to be dead, and he'd have been infuriated to have died of such minor wounds. Of course if the wounds had been cared for right away he'd have been fine, but when the blood loss and exertion and hunger had caught up with him all at once, he'd ended up unconscious for the better part of a day and a half - long enough for infection to have already set in.

If Loki found him like this, he'd wish he had died. A couple simple bite wounds and Hati was down for the count. Pathetic.

"Speech"

Hati isn't nice. He swears, he is violent, and is more than a little insane. If you can't handle what might come of that don't thread with him.

Hati wears a bear skull on his head unless otherwise stated in the post. He also has a ram's skull that might be switched in sometimes if he finds it again.

From the blistering south all the way to the north, Baldur was not only getting a workout but becoming more familiar with Alacritis than he'd ever hoped to. And there was still so much to see! So many wonders, so many strange sights. It felt good to move, to be out and traveling instead of waiting for life to come along and slap him in the face.

The winter-kissed brute stopped at the sight of strange looking caves. Head tilted to the side he approached one of the entrances, sniffing around. Hmm? it seemed leafless, dead trees were holding the entrance open. He hesitated to enter though. He was fine with natural caves but these ones didn't seem quite right. Could this be man's work? A mighty sneeze erupted from Baldur as he once again tried to shake the ash from his coat. First torrential constant rainfall and now ash! One thing he didn't like about Alacritis was the crazy ass weather. Growling he kept on moving. He wasn't overly fond of this section of the terra.

Balder picked up his pace and set out to find a more secure entrance to the caves where he could hide from the ash fall for awhile but he was so intent on looking forward he didn't bother to look down and tripped right over a big, furry log!

YUCK! And a mouth full of ash! He shook his snowy coat again when it occurred to him logs weren't usually terribly furry. As he looked down his heart stopped. Hati. No.. no fucking way. He stumbled back but Hati didn't move. Baldur's ears flicked forward, nose taking in the scent of blood and for a moment he thought Hati was dead but then he saw the brute's chest rise. Wow? what the hell had happened to him? Baldur's eyes narrowed. Not that he cared for this murderer! This fool! Baldur growled, jaws parting as he thought about ripping into Hati's throat or belly? but it felt low to fight a wounded and unconscious opponent. He wouldn't do it.

Baldur turned to walk away and pretend he'd never even hear of Hati when an idea to voice his displeasure slipped into his brain. Grinning he trotted back over to Hati and lifted up his left let to let his brother know exactly what he thought of him.

ooc: cue Thor to the rescue! Laz has my permission to bowl Baldur over or grab his leg and hurl him down.

Heavy paws slapped the ground in quick succession. Somewhere nearby his younger brother was up to no good; he could feel it. This feeling was a kind of sixth sense the brute had developed over the years. It was at once a useful ability and a pain in the ass. Where are you, brother? His eyes roved over the alien scape, taking in the ash. It hung in the air, almost blocking the sun and making breathing difficult, and it covered the ground, getting stuck between his toes. It even stuck to his nose to the point where he had to remind himself not to lick it in order to keep the substance out of his mouth. His eyes stung and wept constantly. The only upside was that it made tracking beyond simple. A set of pawprints laid out before him brought him quickly to the scene.

There. He arrived just in time to see Baldur faceplant, the sight drawing a big booming laugh from him. Ah, leave it to Baldur to cheer him up. Bless him. But what was this? Thor squinted to see through the ash, trying to figure out exactly what the other wolf was doing. He moved closer, blinking rapidly to clear his eyes. Was that...was that a wolf Baldur had tripped over? It was, wasn't it? What was he...no..was he?

"BALDUR!" His voice rang out, exploding through the ashy air with enough force to send nearby flurries sailing away at lightning speed. NO, hell no. He wasn't going to pee on some poor dead creature. Not if Thor could help it. What the hell was wrong with him?

He lit across the terra with an agility that only possessed him when situations were in dire need of action; and this was one of those times. The big brute seethed, his fur standing on end. How dare Baldur desecrate a body, one he didn't even know? No, it wasn't right and he would pay for his mistake.

Roaring, Thor slammed into his brother just as his stream began. He hit him from the left side and the two wolves rolled, hitting the ground in a cloud of ash.

I'M TRYING TO IMPRESS UPON YOU

WE'RE NOT THE SAME

The scent of her brother had brought her up here, as did her curiosity. In the gathered darkness, mismatched optics would dare to pick up the pale coat of her littermate, covered in ash. With her own ebony pelt the ash only looked like she had emerged from the stonework, and she enjoyed that thought very much. Although, honestly, there was too much of it to keep her looking as sexy as usual. Her two toned eyes were watering, her dark nose dried by the moisture sapping crap falling from the sky. As she approached, she discovered Baldur appeared to be about to pee on a log, a very bloody... Okay, so not a log, more like a dead.. Thingy. Squinting a bit, she noticed it looked a lot like... There wasn't enough time for her to figure it out at the time, because Thor, the fight crazed moron he could easily be, came barreling in and tackled a now pissing Baldur. A snicker left her dark lips, watching the two tumble through the ash. "Really Baldy? I know you can be a dick at times, but Hati isn't even conscious right now." She sighed, grinning as she padded towards the pair. She wanted to see how her words were taken by her brother, despite the looming threat of a fight that could break out between them. Long tail would give a flick of it's charcoal tip, enjoying her evil little mind. Flicking her gaze to Thor, she simply stared, enjoying the look of the wet patches on his mottled golden body. Boys will be boys, and more often than not that means they're going to be idiots.

"Oh yeah, and hello." She added with a broad, devilish grin splitting her dark lips to reveal flawless ivory fangs. She was already enjoying herself, and she had only been around her brothers for a few seconds. This was going to be interesting, and hopefully more of her family would show up to humiliate the poor little Hati when he woke up and realized what was happening. Stepping a touch closer to the dark furred male she was related to, she looked him over. Bite wounds, that was it? Had the older man fallen so far since he left the pack he had fought for? Of course, the infection that made the skin burn from within was obvious as she looked at them, but the Hati she knew would not be stopped by such a thing. Sighing dramatically, she stepped away and sat with her back against the cave entrance. This was going to be so very interesting.

Thor roared his name and Baldur flinched, his muscles and body tensing for what was to come and he didn't have to wait long as his older brother sailed right into him the pair landing in a snarling flurry in the ash but tit was quickly broken up. Normally Baldur would have put up more of a fight and a spar would've broken out but in this horrid weather and this awful ash Baldur stayed down, ears back and tail slightly tucked. Suddenly, he started coughing. Dam this ash!

Before Baldur could think of some retort to his brother's physical one who should appear but Weth? great, what was she doing here?

"Really Baldy? I know you can be a dick at times, but Hati isn't even conscious right now."

Baldur grinned as he pretended to pout at her reprimand. "Hmph! But that's the point, dear sister! I was hoping to be long gone by the time he woke up. If he wakes up?" Baldur padded back over to Hati and poked him with his paw. "Gee, he looks pretty sick. Wonder what happened to him?" Not that Baldur cared. He was more curious than anything. "Oh well, lets get out of this. Hati's a big boy he can take care of himself."

"Oh, dear brother, you are absolutely right," came a sly voice from the ashy terrain not far away. Up padded Loki, looking downright urchin-like with the ash streaking his normally-immaculately silky fur. "Hati can take care of himself. He has been doing such a fine job of it without us thus far, hasn't he?"

He too poked at the slumbering form of his elder brother, with disgust, as one may poke at a week-old corpse. The unconscious Hroovitnisson gave an odd sound, half grunt and half pained groan. Loki grinned... he had poked him right on the festering wound on his shoulder. Oh wait. Eww. Festering wound. Loki rubbed his paw frantically in the ash.

"He must have faced a truly mighty foe, to bring him down thus, he said when he'd judged the paw to be... relatively clean. Judging by the size of the wounds, I would guess... a rabbit. Maybe a fox. Truly mighty."

He sent Weth a malicious grin and a wink. It was her she'd followed out here to this abominably ashy wasteland with this unexpected gathering of all the people disliked most - aside from Weth, who he liked, and Tyr, who he disliked but who hadn't bothered to show up. He turned his attention to his moronic younger siblings. Thor, who was his littermate and had somehow managed to turn out even more idiotic than Hati, and Baldur who was Weth's littermate and just as bad as Thor.

"Fancy meeting the two of you way out here," he murmured. "Did you grow tired of dear uncle Vili's hospitality, then? Or did he finally get around to throwing you out of the pack, hm?"

Ash sucked. It clung to her pretty little coat, got on her nose, in her mouth... disgusting. This of course made the easily agitated young woman irritated to no end, and she walked along with ears pinned and banner lashing back and forth to sport her mood. She had been following a twin set of tracks... deciding to take out her sour mood on whatever poor soul so was following. Maybe, with any luck at all, it was a male. Her eyes would sparkle with amusement. They made such lovely screams when their junk got shredded or ripped off.

But what she would come across would not be poor helpless strangers to torture, but rather a sight she had been hoping to see, though she didn't think it would fan out before her like this. A gathering of older siblings... Baldur, Thor, Loki, and Weth. She had already come across Baldur in these damned lands... and it seemed he remembered her well enough. Maybe, she thought, the others would too.

Her gaze would flick as Loki poked something, no, someone, on the ground, and her ears would prick, catching his words. Hati? He was... poking Hati!? Not only that... but... Hati was on the ground. They... were they making fun of him?!

This was not acceptable. Ears would pin, shoulders would roll forward, eyes would narrow, and her tail would tuck as he shot from where she stood, sending ash behind her in a flurry. A sharp, quick snarl would erupt from her and an angry scream would tear from her throat. "Get away from him!" But she wouldn't give Loki the chance to move. Instead Akemi dived for his hind leg, jaws agape and ready to snap down.

Thor stood over his brother, a looming mountain of outrage. His lips curled in disgust and his eyes narrowed. The body behind them was traded and forgotten for a new sin. His voice was a low rumble as the brute ground out each word between clenched teeth, "You pissed on me." Such a sin was this that he couldn't decide on how to react and was rooted to the ground by his indecision.

His dry, almost useless at this point, nose twitched. Somehow a scent had wormed its way through the ash buildup to strike at his senses. The brute put his desire to maul Baldur on hold just long enough to glance behind him. Hati? Well, if he had known who it was he'd have let Baldur pee on him. Or at least pretended not to see it happen. Thor backed off of Baldur, turning his attention to the downed wolf.

Weth appeared, but for the moment Thor chose to ignore her. She was too good at pressing his buttons and he didn't feel like fighting with her now. No, he'd let Baldur and Weth duke it out and be a spectator for once.

Just as he'd begun to exam Hati a shrewd voice rang out and Thor turned to see Loki slither in. First Weth, now Loki. What was this, some sort of reunion? The brute didn't resist the half smile that pulled up one corner of his mouth. Regardless of their differences, it was surprisingly nice to see them again. Sure, he'd probably come to loathe their presence before they parted, but at least it was pleasant now. Even if they were reuniting over Hati's festering wounds. "Admit it, brother. You missed us." he rumbled, stepping over Hati to get a better look at his injuries. His nose wrinkled. Hati stunk. It was like stepping over a corpse.

A shriek and a blur announced the arrival of yet another sibling and Thor turned just in time to feel the small wolf fly by him. If he'd been fast enough he could have halted her attack right there, but that was not the case. Aside from putting a ringing in his ears, her shrill cry had caused him to jump, tensing all over for an impending attack. This lengthened his response time. As the attack wasn't directed at him, it took the brute a few seconds to switch gears. When he did, the brute charged after Akemi. He wasn't fast enough to overtake her, but their size difference came in handy. In just a few strides Thor was almost even with his sister's side. He aimed to shove his shoulder into her rump and knock her off the war path.

As her brother attempted to point out the reason behind his idiotic attempt to humiliate the already humiliated Hati, mismatched optics would only roll to the heavens in response. Baldur was truly an idiot at times, without the least doubt in her mind. As he went on about how sick the poor dick was, her favourite family member made an appearance. Loki made a point of proving their berserker sibling's pitiful attempts at keeping himself safe and well. As he ranted and raved like only a man could, she snickered. Loki might be one of the better boys, but he wasn't as utterly wondrous as she was. His sly grin and accompanying wink made her roll her eyes a bit, but she grinned right back at him. Making fun of Hati with Loki was what kept her sane many of the times when she was younger. As he went on to inquire about their reasons for being here, she drifted her thoughts to other things. Despite it all, the dark wraith kind of missed being around her family. Secret were these thoughts, of course. She would never admit she actually liked everyone in her family, she was far too stubborn.

A flash of movement, an indiscernible blur of dusty brown hurtling towards Loki. Oh. Hell. No. Tea cupped paws would shove her forwards, sending her swiftly gliding across the bare stone floor. Jaws would splay wide in an attempt to grab the base of her younger sisters tail as she caught up to her, rage and determination burning in her dual toned optics. No, the only wolf who would ever be touching Loki aggressively without him seeking it out like an idiot would be her. And if she could stop that, she would. The dynamic duo of mayhem had each other's backs, no matter what. If she managed to get purchase on the girls plume, long legs would start backpedaling to yank the pest in the opposite direction. The obsidian bitch did not see her older brother, who sought to stop Akemi as well, as competent enough to finish the job right. So she would hope her defenses went well, and let what happened next happen.

Hati had been dreaming.

It was long ago, when he and Loki and Thor were just pups, yet somehow Baldur and Weth were there. The others were, as usual, bickering over something stupid. Something about a dead fox? Weth was, as usual, taking Loki's side, while Thor was getting infuriated at their incessant picking on Baldur. Others drifted in and out - his uncle Vili, nagging at him to "be a man" and to "stop whining, it's just a scratch"; his mother, barely glancing at him on her way past, pretending not to even see him lying there; his uncle Ve whining at him about how he should be thinking about his fellow packmembers instead of being so selfish, referring of course to himself which was all Ve cared about; and of course his own father, Hroovitnir, snarling at him to get his ass up and be a leader, to get control of his siblings, about how at his age Hroovitnir had already had his brothers' obedience and two wives and was well on his way to carving out a pack territory.

Hati snarled, the dream-sound translating to a weak grumble from his unconscious form. Damn them anyway, he didn't need anyone to tell him what to... A sharp pain jolted through his delirium, stoking his anger. What the hell was that? He got a weird sense of dizziness for a moment, like he'd just stopped spinning in circles. What was the matter with him? And why the hell wouldn't his siblings just shut up with their stupid arguing? Fine, he'd just have to shut them up himself.

Hati opened his eyes. His actual eyes, as it turned out, which immediately got stinging ash in them. Through his blurry, pained eyes he could vaguely make out... his family, which if the ash and the infected wounds hadn't been so painful would have made him assume he was still dreaming, because why would Baldur, Thor, Loki and Weth be standing here covered in ash? For that matter, what were Baldur, Thor and Weth doing here at all? Last he'd seen of them they were still in the home pack watching Vili screw everything up.

Little did he know that he had just missed the very important fact that Loki had just poked him in the shoulder, or that Baldur had not long before attempted to piss on him, or sick or not he'd have been shredding them. As it was, he had barely opened his eyes in time for his blurred vision to catch sight of a small brown cannonball barreling toward Loki, both Thor and Weth attempting to intercept it.

Normally Hati wouldn't care if Loki got his ass kicked. Hell, he'd done it himself more times than he could remember. The little asshole couldn't keep his mouth shut if his life depended on it. But contrary to Loki's opinion, Hati wasn't a complete idiot, and he saw very clearly that if that little cannonball went for Loki, the first place his brother was going was going to be right overtop Hati to get away from it, because his brother's survival instinct far, far outweighed any minuscule concern he might have for Hati's well-being. Right overtop Hati was exactly where Hati did not want Loki in the best of times, let alone when right overtop meant Loki's paws and claws would be hopping all over Hati's festering wounds.

So Hati, weak as a pup, opened his gold eyes wider and forced himself partly up. "Knock it off, all of you!" he roared - well, actually, he kind of coughed it out weakly, but it was backed up by a fairly competent snarl despite the fact that he desperately needed a drink of water.

"Oh, dear brother, you are absolutely right,"

Baldur's right eye twitched at the voice that slid into the gathering of wolves like oil over water. He didn't even have to turn to look to know that it was Loki and while Baldur would've happily told Loki to craw back into whatever slimy hole he stumbled out of, especially while Weth was occupied, for the moment Loki seemed to be taking his side. Though it was always so hard to tell when little prince sarcasm was in full swing. That said though Baldur could not remember Loki having all that much love for Hati either so as much as they despised each other at least they could share that sentiment.

Baldur chuckled at Loki's reaction to the festering wound. Baldur had avoided poking the injuries and so avoided the pus but Loki, ever in his desire to do harm, went right for the injuries and got the germs.

Judging by the size of the wounds, I would guess... a rabbit. Maybe a fox. Truly mighty."

Baldur burst out laughing. He just couldn't help himself. While he despised his darker older brother he did have to admit that the other had one hell of a sense of humor. Particularly when it wasn't directed right back at Baldur. Being the "white" sheep of the family so-to-speak he was frequently the target of bullying from his other siblings. The name did not help. Being a white wolf with a name that could easily be twisted to suggest a lack of hair was an easy target.

"I'd be careful Loki, we could be in the midsts of a particularly large and ferocious rabbit? the Rabbit of Caerbannog!!!"
He let out a playful snarl, paws slapping into the ash.

"Fancy meeting the two of you way out here," he murmured. "Did you grow tired of dear uncle Vili's hospitality, then? Or did he finally get around to throwing you out of the pack, hm?"

Baldur for the most part ignored this comment. His reasons for leaving were his own and he certainly wasn't going to share them with someone like Loki. And even if he wanted to he'd never have gotten the chance for it seemed the Rabbit of Caerbannog had made a beeline right for the green-eyed trickster. Akemi? dear, dear Akemi. Thor moved to intervene and then Weth was in the fray.

Baldur just sat back grinning.

Then he heard a snarl, a rather soft and pathetic snarl but there was no doubt in his mind where it was coming from. Ice-bitten eyes turned right to Hati. Uh oh?

"Hey, guys??" Baldur didn't get to finish the thought as Hati barked out the order for them to knock it off. Well, the bear was awake and if he wasn't injured Baldur would have turned for the hills.

Suddenly a violent sneeze erupted from Baldur's maw followed quickly by a sucession of smaller sneezes. Eff this weather, just eff it. He was sick of standing out here in the ash and while he wanted to leave Hati out here to suffer it also meant leaving Akemi. He also doubted Thor would just leave Hati there anyway. "UGH! Ok Hati's awake, can we just grab him so we can get the hel out of this?" Baldur made no move to help and instead turned around to head back toward one of the sturdier entrances.

Akemi was focused on only one thing -- sinking her teeth into Loki's leg and letting him yowl in pain. The little girl's narrowed eyes never left her target, nor did she count on any of her siblings interrupting her. A surprised gasp would come from the female as she was sent bowling into the ash, rolling a couple times before being left in a mound of the stuff, coughing and snarling as she shot a glare towards Thor. Weth was there too, and that just added to Akemi's frustration. Damn her size! She would bare her fangs at the both of them, getting back to her paws. "Damn you both! He deserved it!"

She would let out a huff, sent into another fit of coughing, when she heard the voice of her God. The female would, ignoring her siblings for the moment, come to the opposite side of Hati, relief washing over her face in seeing him awake. The youngest sibling's fur lay flat, and she looked at her brother with a soft gaze... until it turned into a sharp glare directed at Balder. "You all poke fun at him while he's down and NOW you want to help him!?" Fangs would glint again. "Fuck off the whole lot of you! The only one Hati is going with is ME!

Did you expect any differently?
Loki had no time to enjoy his own wit, or even reply to Thor's aggravating injunction to "admit" that he missed them, because some tiny, shrieking something came flying out of nowhere screaming at him. The runt's bared fangs made it clear that it was looking to cause him bodily harm. For what? Poking Hati? It was his own damned brother he was poking, he could do it if he wanted to. Who was this runt to say differently?

He had a moment of indecisiveness - stand his ground and see if the little mouse bounced off, or jump over Hati and hope his bulk slowed his attacker somewhat, and although he was sure Weth would probably step in he had absolutely no faith in Thor or Baldur's ability or desire to protect him - but those fangs decided him. He tensed his muscles, preparing to scramble over Hati (oh look, Thor actually was trying to protect him though unsurprisingly Baldy was just sitting back and laughing, the ass) but his leap was arrested by a furious golden-eyed gaze fixed on him. Oops.

At least Thor or Weth had managed to take care of the pipsqueak somehow, though he could hear a remarkably familiar voice shrilling at them that he deserved it. He? Deserve it? Ridiculous. Well, a screaming midget was the least of his potential problems at that moment, with Hati eyeing him balefully. "Heh, good morning, Hati. Finally awake, I see. Such a pity to see that you fainted. I'm sure father would be proud." All right, so he really just couldn't keep his mouth shut.

His former attacker had gone up to Hati's other side, giving Loki a better look at... her. Oh. He squinted at her, trying to see why she looked so damned familiar... OH. "Akemi," he sighed, resisting the urge to bang his head on the ground. "How... fantastic to see you here." One of his youngest siblings, out of the last litter Hroovitnir had lived to see from Loki's mother, an irritating brat who basically worshiped Hati. He did, unfortunately, remember her.

It was at that moment that Baldur spoke up, urging them to get Hati so they could get out of there. Loki turned his green gaze, eyes widened in mock astonishment, in his younger brother's direction. "Grab Hati? Why in the world would I do that? He seems quite comfortable where he is. I have a much better idea. How about we leave him here, and let Akemi deal with him? How does that sound for a plan? I'm sure a big strapping girl like Akemi can drag him around just fine." Yeah. He really just couldn't shut up.

The smell of urine finally reached his nose, only serving to make the brute more agitated. He stood between Akemi and Loki with his tail raised in a command. She would not jump at him for a such a trivial thing. It was one thing to defend herself or another, but Hati deserved no such sacrifice. It was his own shortcomings that led to his wounds, Thor was sure, and Loki would be Loki; a coward wrapped in empty sniveled words. While he was known to occasionally fall victim to them, he wouldn't not, at this moment, allow it to take Akemi. There were other more pressing matters to attend. "Sit your ass down, Akemi, or tend to the one you defend so readily, I don't care." But don't start something you can't finish. He wouldn't say it out loud, but that was his sole reason for intervening. If she'd been a tad bit heftier the brute would have let Loki get his ass chewed.

A wheeze from the wounded idiot.

Speak of the devil. Same as his siblings, Thor turned to stare at Hati. Well, at least he wasn't in a coma; although this new development would make transporting him much more difficult. He could only imagine what would happen if he threw Hati over his shoulders now. Thor would probably walk away with the same amount of ears as his brother.

At Loki's words, the brute cast an icy glare in his direction. He'd just saved him from getting a bite taken out of his butt. The least he could do was hold off on the snide comments--or his next attacker would have more success with him. They each had their weaknesses, but in Thor's mind, Loki's was the most piteous. The need that drove his brother to such extremes for attention was beyond him and a weakness in character that Thor didn't understand. He desired attention like everyone else, but he didn't provoke others to get it.

His eyes drifted back to Hati. While he certainly didn't like him and the brute probably deserved whatever Fate had in store for him, Thor couldn't simply leave him and would help him in any way he asked. Now, if Hati was a dick about it he'd get left in the ash so fast his head would spin; Thor was only going to offer his assistance once. "Can you stand, brother?" He'd offer his shoulder for the brute to lean on should he need it. If he was incapable of rising, Thor would simply grab a leg or whatever offered the best grip and haul* him away.

As the whelp was shouldered aside by Thor before the wraith could get a grip on her, the little bitch started throwing curses just like Hati. Tall ebony audits would flatten against her skull as charcoal tipped plume would rise above her hocks, hackles spiked in anger. "Watch your mouth runt or I'll haul your irritating little ass over my shoulders and chuck you down one of those pits back there, if we're delivering what everyone deserves." Sultry lyrics would snarl as mismatched pools glared down at the cussing child. As she continued on to rant about taking Hati, a malicious laugh would escape her maw as she looked down at the kid, lifting a paw and gesturing to the immense mass of blood soaked muscle and fur. "By all means, go ahead." She would growl with a dark grin playing at her features, dual toned orbs dancing with cruel mirth. As Thor added on to put the little shit in her place, the devilish grin broadened. Turning to face the now awakened Hati, she would fix her gaze upon his features and watch the horrified look on them unfold.

While leaving Hati to be 'helped' by the tiny wretch known as Akemi, was not a good option for him by the dark wraith's standards, neither was dragging him around while he was in less than the proper condition. Sighing, she sat herself down upon the terra and watched them all sit around trying to figure out what to do. Honestly, sometimes it looked like she was the smartest of the bunch here. Shaking out her pelt, the obsidian temptress rid most of the collection of fine ash that had dirtied her sensuous physique and let her voice echo through the cavern. "Now, I'm no healer, but instead of dragging him to somewhere the ash can make his wounds worse, doesn't it seem smarter to just take him further into these mines where the ash hasn't covered everything? At least until he can walk or some shit." She spoke, her voice quiet enough not to be thought of as a demanding shout, but loud enough that the idiots couldn't miss her genius suggestion. Clearly they were going to get the dark behemoth killed with their idiocy, so helping out seemed like a plan. Besides, these mines were quite nice and dark. Although, she could smell the strong scents of others. Someone was living there, and they might not like her plan. What the fuck ever, no one cared about a few rogues who had a problem with them.

will we burn inside the fires of a thousand suns?
Hati bared his fangs at Loki's little jab about him fainting, but frankly he hadn't the energy to do much worse than that. It was a weak joke anyway. You'd think that he'd have thought of something better. It's not like he didn't have the whole time Hati was unconscious to think of something to say. As far as the other bastards went...

He turned ash-irritated yellow eyes in the direction of the rest of the group. He mostly tried to ignore his siblings' spats, in part because all they ever managed to do was piss him off, which never ended well, but this time the spat seemed to be about him, so ignoring them was probably not an option. Though shoving them all down in a deep dark cave and leaving them there was sounding more and more appealing. Akemi seemed to be having a showdown or something with them over, not unexpectedly, him and who would be taking care of him. "Would you all just fucking shut it and stop fucking fighting for five godsdamned seconds? No one's going to be dragging me anywhere, I can fucking walk by myself," he gritted out. He glared furiously around him, daring any of them to say otherwise, a low rumble sounding a warning in his chest. "And leave Akemi alone," he added with an additional glare for Weth.

Now, Hati wasn't a thinker like Loki, who would probably have studied his wounds and tested the waters, so to speak, before making an attempt to stand - or just let himself be carried like the pretty princess he was - no, Hati was a doer, and as such he didn't bother with any proprieties like getting himself ready. Hati simply decided he was going to get up, so he heaved himself to his feet.

He almost ended up back on his face. The infection had sapped his strength, left him weak, and the wounds in his both his front legs nearly made those legs collapse under him before he could make it up. He caught himself by desperately bringing a hindfoot up to balance. He stayed there, half up on his feet, panting. His stomach roiled, pain and dizziness threatening to send him back into blackness.

"I... could use some help." His gruff voice was reluctantly polite; no doubt some of his siblings were jumping at the idea of leaving him out here in the ash and dust. He was surprised Loki was here at all. Fury at his predicament nearly choked him, made him quiver with rage, but weak as he was he was in no position to give him to that rage. "I would really... appreciate it." The words were forced out through clenched teeth, but it would be easy enough to assume that it was pain, not anger, that caused it.

Well, he was making an effort, anyway. And if they didn't like it, they could fuck off. He'd figure it out on his own.

Hati isn't nice. He swears, he is violent, and is more than a little insane. If you can't handle what might come of that don't thread with him.

Hati wears a bear skull on his head unless otherwise stated in the post. He also has a ram's skull that might be switched in sometimes if he finds it again.
Help keep my thread list updated so your thread isn't forgotten!

Baldur rolled his eyes and then Akemi turned on him with a snarl, yelling and screaming at him. He just didn't get it. What was it with dames going nuts over wolves like Hati and Loki? The way Weth and Akemi clung to their respective males was disgusting. It was a wonder either could manage to stand on her own. And what the hel? He just suggested that maybe they ought to help Hati and here Akemi was chewing him out? Hackles raised and fur on end Baldur took two steps forward, brow furrowed and fangs bared as his words spat out in snarls. "FINE! Go ahead, let's see you drag Hati's fat ass to safety. I only suggested it because I knew you were too stubborn to go anywhere without him. So fine, cling to him and die out here for all I care."

He wasn't waiting for any of them. Turning briskly on his heels he marched off toward the abandoned mine entrances, missing Hati's reprimand and request for help altogether. He was simply done. However, he paused as he passed Thor, flinching at the slight scent of urine on his older brother's coat? his fault, again. He was honestly surprised Thor hadn't pummeled him into pumice for the transgression. Though maybe that was coming later."I'm sorry? for earlier" he muttered as he quickly brushed by. Seeing Hati and the whole group together again at once was just too much for him. He needed time to breathe and think. Everyone's emotions were so keyed up it was stifling.

The pale brute set to finding a suitable entrance into the mines and out of the retched ash fall. When he found one that seemed suitably sturdy he slipped in the dank darkness. It made him nervous, these unnatural tunnels with wooden blanks at odd ends but what other choice did they have? Up here in the barren tundra of the north there were few shelterbelts to take cover under and the permafrost was still do solid to dig a decent dent. Baldur stared up at the ceiling, eyeing the wooden planks that formed the roof. As he took another step his paw met nothing but air. Biting back a yelp, tail rapidly twirling he managed to pull himself back from the edge. Dam? he'd only gone in about 15 feet back.

Nose to the ground he started sniffing around. It stank here. He didn't like this at all. It felt more like a coffin than a potential shelter and he was half inclined to march right back out and find somewhere else suitable but the family was out there and his mood was still sour. Baldur coughed lightly and winced at the taste of ash. Nasty? Curling up against the wall he set to trying to clean his fur but quickly gave up. He was bound to get it dirty again when he left so what was the point?

The mockery... oh how it stung. Her size. It always came to her size. Even when she wanted to be brave, to fight, to be strong like she viewed her siblings... others would always attack her for her size. Her ears would lower a bit at Loki's insult. It was one of the only things about the girl she could find fault at herself with. They would lower further at Weth's words, hurt stinging at her. Memories, memories of the ones that had stolen her innocence away would come to her mind. Runt. Did Weth have any idea how much that word wounded her? How much it hurt to be so small, to not grow, despite forcing herself to eat and train hard? Then Thor would add his imput. Did they all think of her as a weak nothing?

The youngest of the family would lower her gaze, her anger replaced by hurt. A deep hurt. Sure she didn't say it to any of them, well, other than Hati in her praising words when she mentioned his name or the way she always wanted to be by his side... but she cherished all of them deeply. Looked up to them. They were her big siblings... her idols... The female would take a step back into the ash. Even Hati's words would cause a sting.

You're not strong enough to stand up for yourself so others have to do it for you... you're nothing but a weak, worthless runt! Akemi would feel herself shudder, though only slightly. It was enough though to make her realize, once more, how frustrated she was with herself... and... feeling like nothing more than a disappointment in her family's eyes. Then Baldur's words would reach her... the last stone to her heart. All she ever wanted was to be like them... like all of them... but... she wouldn't say a word as she turned. She wouldn't let them see the tears that were springing to her eyes. Without looking back Akemi would run, unsure if she ever wanted to cross paths with any of them again.

Did you expect any differently?
Loki would simply give a frustrated little smile and a head-shake at all his siblings. Hati, stupidly insistent on climbing to his own feet - and look, those horrible germ-ridden wounds had broken open again in the attempt - and Baldur overreacting to Akemi's words - his short fuse was what made him so fun, usually, but it was a rather bad time to be having a tantrum - and then Akemi stormed off as well. At this rate the only one left here would be him, and he certainly wasn't going to drag Hati's disease-ridden carcass anywhere.

"Akemi, don't go," he called after her entreatingly. If she went who would be left that could actually stand Hati's abrasive personality? Thor? Unlikely his temper would hold through too much rudeness on Hati's part.

But miracle of miracles, Hati was actually managing to not only not throw in a colorful oath or three every two words, but was also managing to be polite as he asked for assistance. Loki, eyeing the oozing wounds with distaste, strongly considered just leaving him there to rot. He'd gotten himself into this trouble with his temper and his poor self-control, he could get himself out of it too.

There was the rather inconvenient matter of curiosity. How long would this newfound politeness last before Hati exploded from holding in all that natural hostility? It would be a sight worth seeing anyway. So it was that he sighed and glanced around at the few siblings still remaining there, and stated quite clearly, "Well, I'm not touching that." But in an attempt to forestall Thor, Hati, or both from erupting at him, he quickly added "Once he's on his feet we should be able to support him by walking with him between us, shoulder to shoulder." And I, he added silently to himself, am not going anywhere near that left side. He gave a shudder at the thought. They should just be happy he'd volunteered to help at all.

You show the lights that stop me turn to stone

You shine it when I'm alone

The woman slithered around like a minx. Her fur was trickled with a thin layer of ash like the ground. She breathed in swiftly, timing her breathing with her strides. Unlike other Wolves this one knew what she was doing. Her lovely little paws danced rhythmically upon the ground in such elegance. Everything she did was elegant. Her lovely sky blue pools slipped around, she was hot on their trail. She could smell Bald, Thor.. and Hati? She raised a brow and stopped for a moment. The petite woman looked around quickly before she heard a bit of shouting. Weth? The sandy pelted woman slithered in the direction of the voices with that lush tail flowing behind her. The woman had been on her own for a little while. Freyja never really expected to come to the strange places.

Freyja looked to the group that was just at the mines entrance. The beautiful Goddess smiled and prowled closer with her head high. She looked to each member of her powerful family before nodding polietly to them all. "Oh how lovely, the family all here together." Those sultry orbs slipped down to the black Wolf upon the ground, Hati. "Tsk tsk tsk, poor guy.." She smiled brightly, there was something about the woman that just breathed confidence. She kept her eyes on the man upon the ground but she would not help him up. The woman was far to small and she really did not care. No one really cared about Hati, well no one really liked each other. She looked to Weth and Loki with a gentle sneer she tried to hide. Troublemakers.. She put back on that smile. "He is our blood, boys helps him."
