Gloved paws found themselves wandering in the direction of his last location before shutting himself away from the world. He was unsure why he was going back. Perhaps to find some fragment of hope that someone he would recognize would be there...or maybe nothing was there at all. He walked quietly, gaze cast about warily as he moved on. He wasn't keen on an ambush, or a fight. And truth be told he didn't feel he had the energy for one neither. After an hour or so of traveling across the plains, he made it. The youth climbing atop a rock surface to get a better view of his surroundings, and he saw made his heart ache. It was desolate, empty, wiped free of the old pack scent that was once here. The aftermath of the war was all that was left, a dead body lying near some rocks, not completely intact as the weather had decomposed it. It wasn't anyone he recognized from Valhalla, so most likely it was a brute from the northern pack that had attacked them. Tearing his eyes away, he slid down the rock and slowly walked through the plains. Nothing was recognizable anymore, and nothing seemed the same. It was desolate, and it felt as if the very earth itself here were weeping for the vibrant life it once held.

Erani

Erani wandered quietly throughout the land she had once called home. She still remained, as well as Friction and his new mate Eria, and their newborn pups. She intended to ask if they wished to travel to the Pack with her when she was physically able. As of now, she still was short of breath if she ran too far, though sometimes she pressed herself, as exercise would help her grow stronger. The illness had been a long one, but it was over, finally. It helped to open her eyes from the grief, and she had visited Rayne?s resting place at times, wishing the dead healer were still alive. Torn apart, and raped, if the scents were anything to go by. And by the scents, she knew who it was.

The male, she hoped, would die painfully, paying the debt for Rayne?s rape and loss of life. She frowned, raising her head from her paws. The storm that had recently passed over, merely a few days ago, had been a rough one, and she and Surreal had weathered in inside her den, watching the clearing outside the cave mouth fill with overflow, then go down as the water flowed out of the ravine, until it receded to the pool as the rains ended. Surreal had gone home, leaving Erani to her own devices, since Friction was around and would be able to care for Erani if she got in trouble. Or vice versa. How had Friction and Eria stood the storm? She hadn?t gone to see them yet.

Pushing herself to her paws, she ambled out of the ravine, padding through the territory, heading toward her friends? home, before a scent washed over her nose and she froze, head lifting high. Her course changed and she broke from the forest into the plains with a low bark of challenge. Until she was gone, this place was still Valhallan land, in her eyes. So she would protect it as such. She had allowed Liberty, when she had scented the young female, to go uncontested. The young wolf had had a chance to get out of Glaciem during the siege. She hadn?t taken it. And that she had been allowed to leave the confines of Glaciem long enough to stay for an hour or more said a great deal. Deteste's words also hung in that balance.

A low rumble uttered from her chest as she approached the stranger, though he did look familiar. Then recognition kindled, and some of the threat left her posture, though she still stood warily. ?You were at the last meeting held in the plains?? Deep blues swept his form. What she read in his stance said depression, though looking around here at the aftermath of the battle could depress anyone.
