Titanium optics pierced the twilight driven airwaves. The setting of the sun against the earth's horizon was drawing nearer, though the day was still thriving during it's last hour of life. Enough to see the activity of the other species roaming these lands, as well as enough for the obsidian colored brute to see his potential meal before him, chewing at it's grassy reeds prior to retiring back into it's den. This hare had it's guard down, enough for the brute who rested, belly barely touching the earth a good ten yards away to the west.
His pulse fused with the terrain beneath him, his paws flat against the earth, claws retracting back and forth, ready to tear away from him at any moment. Obsidian auds pierced back as if stapled against his skull, hackles slightly risen to ensue adrenaline escaping into every orifice of his physique, flooding his heart with pulsating energy. Ready to thrust himself forward in a frenzy of hunger, driven to take down his prey. The hare remained where it was, held back upon it's haunches, ready to relax and allow it's guard to stay down. It's forepaws raked over it's narrow face, pulling the soft grey fur forward, wide-set eyes at a close, long narrow ears were folded back, cradling in it's body.
Obsidian brute pulled himself back, silver optics remaining on the hare, hardly a twitch against him as his auds swiveled slowly towards his prey, tail remaining low, and his tall, wide-set body stayed hidden within the shadow of a large oak. The canopy above him fading away and merging into a solid shade of grey, concealing the wolf further against the earth, tones of black blending with one another. Breath was steadied, nearly silent as he remained where he was, waiting for an opportune time to lunge for the hare.
