She had stayed behind when the large pack had left to come to these plains. She needed to be alone and to think. Something she had once thought was dead had stirred once again in her. She was not one to usually stick around others, not unless they held that odd quality she liked. She couldn't explain it, it was like something drew her to Skogos, and now it pulled her to that Erani woman. She didn't understand it, but was hesitant to offer her service just yet. So alone she had time to ponder over that weird pulling sensation. She had to make sure it was really there, not just a longing to feel part of something again. Amia could be very picky with who she stuck around. But she did love everyone none-the-less.
Trotting at an easy pace she followed the fading trail scent of the pack back to their new home. She moved with a stiffness of uneasy. She wasn't sure she would be accepted, if that's what she wanted. But she had to talk to the white alpha first. There were questions she needed answers to. Only problem was how would she go about actually forming words with how she felt? In time the plains came into view. It was early evening, with the sun setting golden hues over the land. It was beautiful no doubt. She shifted restlessly till she gathered enough courage and howled out to the white Alpha of Valhalla.

Erani |
Erani was stretched out in the wide area of the ravine that led to her den, ears flicking as they took in the rippling tinkle of running water, and the song of a wren not too far off above the ravine walls. Outwardly, she could be mistaken for being asleep. Internally, she was thinking over the plans she had for Valhalla. The wolves were settling in well. She could hear Surreal grumbling about den rest from inside the expansive den. Her daughter had an infected cut between the toes of one front paw. Erani had caught scent of it, and, being all three of Alpha, Healer, and Mother, had scolded her daughter thoroughly as she?s cleaned the wound and tended to it, then set her chastised child to her alcove, to rest the paw for a few days. Erani fully intended to head out and make alliances with other packs. Soon enough, she would lay her plans out to her family. Already she was considering the land she would be traveling, choosing who to meet with first. Ludicael? To reinstate an alliance that Ludicael had not held their end of the alliance up. She wondered what had happened. Perhaps no messengers had been sent in time to the eastern coastal pack. Her tail tapped in thought, a small frown pulling at her brows over closed eyes. A howl broke into her thoughts however, and she rocked to a sphinx position on her belly, eyes open and ears perked. She rose and took off at a lope, passing through the forested areas of the Plains and breaking out into the hot sunlight, slowing to a trot as deep blue pools swept the plains. They fell upon the same young female from the Nomads who had been at her call to the Valhallans to muster them after the challenge. Erani approached the young Nomad, coming to a stop before the girl. ?What brings you to my borders, young Nomad? I recall you being at my calling of the pack.? Velvet tones were gentle, friendly, her eyes sweeping over the female. |

It seemed like only heartbeats had passed till the white Queen she had seen before was standing before her. She shifted nervously, mind going blank for words. Why was she here again? What does she say? Her pale blue eyes looked around, as if trying to find something to remind her. A small cluster of dandelions got her attention and as she stared at it, everything seemed to come back to her. I am Amia Tulip of the Nomads. I could not help but go to your howl last time. Something pulled me towards your meeting. Or more perhaps you. I...don't really understand it myself. I've never had the urge to be around others since my mentor passed away. I ran from home, unable to bare the grief and see his den but never him again. She spoke quickly, her words a rush. But as she paused she sat down. Eyes wavered as she thought about the next words she would say. I guess im just trying to understand why I have this calling towards you and your pack. But I feel like I might not fit in like I did among the Nomads.. She stopped eyes looking up at the older female.
Would this woman be able to help her, to understand her? She hoped so, if not then Amia could always walk away right? yet something told her paws she would not be leaving these lands, a least not forever. Brows creased down in slight frustration in herself. Nothing made sense and she didn't like it one bit. She wouldn't blame the white woman if she was totally confused too. She sighed softly, eyes looking down at her white paws.

Erani waited for the female to speak, and at last, she did. Amia Tulip of the Nomads spoke in a rush, pausing as she sat down, seeming to try to think over her next words. Erani pressed her ears forward, as the female continued. When Amia was finished, Erani deliberated for a moment. She knew the feeling of the pull. She had felt something like it when she had come to Starlite?s borders all those years ago. And she had been a loyal member to this pack ever since. The pull was even stronger around Cairo. The pull of the Alpha. The pull of fate. The words Amia spoke made a good deal of sense to her. ?The pull of which you speak is your heart telling you what it needs to heal. When my birth pack, Redwood pack, was slaughtered, I had little will to live, and wandered the lands aimlessly. Perhaps the wandering wasn?t so aimless. No matter how much I wished to die, I could not, and instead kept going. I found this pack, three lands ago, back when it was named Starlite. And once there, I felt whole again. I haven?t left since.? Contentment was warm on her voice as she spoke, deep blue pools like a warm summer morning. ?You are welcome to my pack. I already know where you would fit best. We have need for Etas, or healers. You will also train in hunting and fighting. If you cannot fight, you cannot protect your patient against an enemy.? The last words were firm and serious. ?I know fighting is unsavory, but we need all the skills we can get.? She rose, lightly brushing her muzzle over Amia?s shoulder, laying her scent on her as a mark of the pack. ?Welcome to Valhalla. And if you feel you do not fit in, you are free to leave, but let me know what you intend to do.? She turned then, heading back into the Territory, leaving Amia free to do what she wished. -Exit Erani- |
