wishing that empty seat was you
She missed her nymph, her goddess and her love. They had been apart for far too long so it was today that she had slipped beyond Ludicael's boarders and into a strange yet wonderous land. Everything was bleached here, her perfect monocromed world draped in what appeared to be a light dusting of snow while remaining warm and soft. It was beautiful here, perfect in fact. Head tipped back without a second thought and a howl slipped from dark stained lips calling for her purple nymph. Who better to share this place with then the one she wished to spend the rest of her life with. As well they needed to talk, it had been some time since get had been alone to talk and it was almost time to put things into motion, make a plan and ask some questions. In her jaws dangled a delicate silver bangle, not a complete loop for ease of putting on but at the middle two feathers lay on top of each other, one purple and one red. She had found it some time back on one of the islands and hadn't really know what to do with it until now. For the time she hopped onto her hind legs so she could hang the bangle on one of the low hanging branches before dropping down to wait and see if Desiree would arrive to explore this place together.
Its sweet allure would tint in Viridiana's call. It was to be like honey; Never was Desire? so excited to see another, so eager to see the wolf who the gods had made their queen. Or so it had felt, with each day the purple nymph couldnt help but feel as though everything's weighing down heavily upon her shoulders like an anchor; Though at the same time it felt as though something of hers was missing. A priced possession that you'd never want to loose. So when the call rang out, it felt like she had been lifted, that she had nothing else to worry about in the presence of the woman who had stolen her heart.
Desire? wasnt to far away, infact she was just making a trip to see the children. They all had a piece of their mother one way or another. Whether it was to be by their looks alone, or her personality. Her doe like legs would carry her forward, sinking slightly within the freshly laid blanket of snow that appeared untouched, if it wasnt for the trail that had been left behind. A smirk would pull against her thin lips, it had been to long since enjoying the company with her; and now they could make up for lost time. It was a matter of minutes until she saw Vi standing there, and Des would waste no time in making her presence known.
She'd carefully drift to her side, leaning against her for just a moment, her crown caressing the womans neck, while inhaling her intoxicating perfume. " Why is it that you always seem to find the most beautiful of places?" She'd murmur under her breath, before her mismatched optics locked onto something else, it looked so appealing and mystical... Des has never seen anything quite like that. " Whats that? Vi it looks.... perfect, how did it end up there?" Stunned for a moment by its beauty, she couldnt help but feel attached; and what made it better was each feather represented them both. It looked far from natural; making it all the more special.
Petite babe was excited and nervous all at once. Anticipation ran like a virus through her veins as she tried to sit still and wait patiently. She could honestly say she didn't recognize this feeling, it was completely foreign and strange to her, something both welcome yet worrisome. Even with Morphine she had been able to relax and sit patiently when she had called for her but here she was shifting and shuffling nervously. Muscles wouldn't real and release no matter how many breathing exercises she did or how many times she tried to go to her happy place. It probably didn't help that Desiree was her happy place. She was anxious, she had never felt like this and struggled to find words to describe the feelings washing over her while she waited. It wasn't until her purple goddess swept into the scene did she finally find some emotions she recognized. Relief, adoration, calm and most of all love. It was hard for the red woman to tell if this was love or not, her mind having never really fully grasped the concept but if love existed then this is what she believed it would be.
She was striking, beautiful. Her pelt of lavenders and amethysts a stark contrast to their monochromatic surroundings, dawning even more focus to her eyes even rather then her pelt. She was, in every way, perfect. Vi could no longer remain still, a soft smile spreading across inky lips and traveling easily to crinkled eyes. They closed the distance together, pelts mingling, Des's crown draping over her shoulders momentarily as Vi's leaned her skull over her dear's in a similar fashion to a hug though she would run her tongue through that purple coat a few times tenderly. "I can't take you just anywhere now can I?" If Vi brought her to a field of grass or to a mountain then would it all simply pale in comparison to them? Not just Des, not just Vi but to them. Everything had to be special when they could spend time alone.
All too soon they would part, pelts pulling away as Des found something else to entrap her attention. It hadn't exactly been the way Vi had wanted her to find it but what was done was done. The red woman would turn so they were standing side by side staring up at the silver bangle with its two feathers. Smile would widen as Des asked about it, how it had ended up there and already expressed her love for it. Well here goes nothing?"I brought it here? For you?" She would whisper, leaning close to Desiree so her words could trickle over the purple woman's ear. "An object fit for the queen I will one day make you?" She said, taking a few steps back to the tree to lift herself up and grasp the object gently in her maw, lifting it from it's branch before falling back to the earth.
Even in this white world it glittered, just like her eyes. It was perfect just like this woman she had found by pure chance and fallen so madly in love with. Slowly crown would lower, placing the object beside Desiree's left paw. She had seen a few wolves wear such objects around their shoulder bones before and hoped her queen would enjoy the idea. After a she nosed it closed to Des she would lift her head, suddenly a bit tongue tied and shy. "I was hoping you would wear it for me. To symbolize our marriage. That is if you will have me as your mate?" Her words were soft, barely a breath but there was hope there. Would she say yes?

She had never experienced a wait this long before in her life. It felt like seconds were turning to minutes, minutes to hours and hours to days. It was almost as if time had frozen then and there and Vi alone was left waiting. But she knew that was not the case, she could see the glimmer in her purple nymph's eyes, hear the little intake of breath she drew in as she realized what exactly Vi was saying to her. Desiree's words finally came, still trying to make sense of it all and all Vi could do was smile, tail waving at her haunches though still a bit uncertain. "Just like you?" She murmured softly. Since the day they had met Desiree had been the most beautiful thing Vi had ever met, had been the one Vi had wanted to have as the first and last thing she saw every day. It was beyond an obsession, it was the only thing Vi had to compare to what her mother had told her about love. Desiree stepped forward, delicate paw stepping into the bangle and finally the uncertainty would began to flake and fall from Vi's exterior to expose the exuberance beneath. Tail began to wave quicker, a joyful smile spreading across inky lips. She leaned forward quickly, teeth gripping the bangle lightly so she could pull it up Desiree's slender leg. To get it around her elbow was a bit of a process, some awkward wiggling but soon enough the silver bangle was resting delicately above the joint. "It fits perfectly. How does it feel?" She asked, hoping that it wouldn't impede her loves movements too much. But she didn't especially wait that long for a reply, stepping forward to run her nose first along Desiree's cheek then along her neck, deeply inhaling her scent. "I want to give you the world. You deserve so much." Vi murmured into her neck. |
