The world was by far bigger than she ever could have imagined. With its vastly open skies and the cool of the world beyond her den being nothing but the tip of the iceberg. The litter was old enough now to need to explore, to be incapable of remaining held up within the confines of their birthing cave. Maybe she didn?t need to sneak from the cave they lived it, but whether or not she would have been told off, the sneaking was half the fun. To wake in the hours of the morning so early that sun had barely even touched the sky. The only light that lit the world was the pale pink of the waking sky. The shadows beyond where long and ominous, and the young girl?s intention was to explore every dark part of the world. She would unfurl herself slowly and stretch onto exaggerated tippy toes to creep from the squirming mass of sleeping bodies and out into the chill of the world. She would shiver without the body heat of her family, and the world beyond was too dark to be heated by a currently non-existent sun. The world looked so different in these hours. It loomed before her in dark shades and stretching shadows. Her breath before her was a visible mist that had her jumping when she first noticed it, but calming and continuing when she realised what it was. Her nostrils took in the world, but all she could gather into her senses was the smell of the pack ? she had no clue if other wolves roamed the night. She practised creeping along the cool grass. Her tail a banner behind her waving from the depths of green as her luminescent green eyes scanned ahead. She would find some fun tonight, she was sure of it.

Slowly, carefully, Signy popped her head up over Taddeo's slumbering form, acid green eyes narrowed in interest. Where was Cecily going? It was the middle of the nighttime so she obviously wouldn't be allowed out... not that it had stopped Signy from sneaking out whenever she got the chance. Ever so sneakily, she crept out after her older, larger littermate. In her mischievous head a plan was forming, but she would need to wait. Be patient. Don't ruin the joke and all the fun because she made Cecily squeal and wake up Mama. Wait until they were out of earshot. So she trailed Cecily further and further as her thunder-footed sibling flailed through the grass as though she were stalking. Pfft. Signy would show her how it was done. Hiding her dark form in the grass, Signy let out a strange, warbling moan - she'd been practicing making strange sounds for just this sort of prank, and this one seemed creepy enough to work - before scrambling as quietly as she could somewhere else and hiding, giggling soundlessly to herself as she watched for Cecily's reaction. This was going to be greeeat. She could do this all night if she didn't get caught. "Speech"

Shr could nearly even begin to decide what to do with her night, now that she had made it her own. Prancing through the grasses would begin the fun, with her terrible attempt at sneaking as obvious as a boar thrashing through the woods. It didn't matter, she knew that wolves went invisiable when they where stalking, so as long as she continued her stalking pose none would see her against the contrast of the night. She was just catching a glimpse of owl feathers gliding upahead and stopped to admire their beauty when the sound began. She would freeze, even her endlessly wiggling butt and tail had stilled behind het. what was that both thrilled and cautious over the strange noise.

Her eyes would swival and her her eyes would dart to and fro. All she could see about her was darkness and lengthening shadows. She shivered and suddenly the darkness was more ominous about her. She didn't even know what roamed the night. She waited a few moments more, but the sound didn't come again. With a little mote caution and quite to her step she would start up again, determined to make the most of her nights adventures

Nearly shaking with the effort of keeping her giggles in - Cecily's reactions were just sooooo funny to see, she just couldn't help it - she waited until Cecily started out again, then made the weird noise, one long wailing sound, before skittering off to a new location this time thrashing around and making as much noise as possible to sound like something really big. Now she was nearly snorting out loud trying to keep the giggles under wraps. She once more insinuated her tiny dark form into the darkness and dropped to her belly in an awkward, instinctive sort-of hunting crouch. If Cissy came to investigate the noise she was going to get a surprise, Signy could promise that! And if she didn't then Signy would just keep stalking her, because nighttime was Signy's time. That's why she was all black while everyone else in the family was brown, because she was all night. I am the night! she thought gleefully to herself, wiggling in her hilarity and excitement. "Speech"

The girl would freeze again as the call sounded out. Her ears would swivel and her brow would furrow. what was that her thoughts demanded, and this time it was meet with a dark scowl. Whatever it was, it was ruining her nightly adventure. When the thrashing started out she would jump on her paws in shock before stilling again. This was her chance! She would catch this terrible creature and bring it home to show it off. She bet Signy an't never cought a night monster before!



She prowled again, this time towards the noise. Trying to keep quite and subtle as she made her way towards. She was stalking it, she was the predator here! With her tail swishing behind her and her ears twitching this way and that she entered the scene. She could see the disturbed grass, but no sign of the beast. Her eyes twitched again, searching and wondering. She scowled even darker as she looked.

"Speech"

Cecily jumped as Signy flailed her way through the grass, exactly the reaction Signy was hoping to get, and the tip of her tail quivered in excitement. This game was going great! A giggle was barely stifled as Cecily finally moved to investigate the noisy "monster" in the grass. Barely could she hold herself back from wriggling in hilarity, but moving now would give it all away so Signy was super, super careful to hold her wiggly tail still as her sister approached in the darkness. Closer Cecily came, a scowl clearly written on her lighter colored face. Closer, closer...

Perfect.

Taking a deep breath, Signy narrowed her eyes in concentration... Then with a banshee scream she leaped out of the darkness, fully intending on tackling her larger sister to the ground and chewing on her ears.

It was so quite in the darkness now, she could hear her breathing and the rustling of the wind against the barest reminder of leaves. She was still, her eyes wondering to and for as she struggled to find some indication of where the monster had gone. She knew she could do this, she could catch this beast and bring it home and show it off to her family. Once she did, she would certain Signy would have trouble matching that! she was just grinning from excitement when a noise cought her attention, but faster then she could look up it pounced her. She let out a squeal as she fell thrashing to the ground. She was going for its neck but it already had its ear in its mouth and before her little fangs could even graze its neck she realised what it was.



?Signy!!!? she burst out in terribly indignation as she really how fully she had been tricked. She squealed again and throw her weight to the side in an attempt to throw her younger sister off. ?Night monster indeed! I could have eaten you all up if I hadn't realised who you where!? she pouted as her voice spoke utter lies.

Signy giggled wildly at her sister's startled reaction, then made a raspberry noise at her claim that she'd have eaten Signy all up. "You could try" she said tauntingly, "but you couldn't eat me all up. I'm too tough!" With that she aimed little nibbles at her sister's most tickly spots until Cecily managed to throw her off. Her tiny puppy form rolled away giggling into the dark grass. Coming to a stop upside down, her bright eyes stared thoughtfully at Cecily. Always thinking was Signy, and always moving, and now was no exception as she wriggled back upright. "I caught a tiger before," she announced suddenly, referring to a day not long past when she'd managed to pounce on a sleeping tiger, though she hadn't really managed to catch him. "But he got away. I bet I could get another one before you could. D'you want to try?" "Speech"

There could only be one reaction to a raspberry, and the girls tongue would of course dart from her mouth in answer and she would pout her cheeks as she made the action at her sister. Her sister would then go on to point out why she would not have been eaten by Cecily and the girl stifled little giggles in her puffed out cheeks and took a moment to catch her breath before answering. ?Too tough all right, all stringy and icky and skinny? she giggled teasingly But she would lose her words as Signy began to tickle her, lose them to squeals and thrashing, that really tickled after all! But at last she would throw the black girl off and leap to her paws. But her indignation would vanish as quickly as it appeared. Her sister was telling her about her adventures and she pouted, not sure if she should believe what Signy was saying. ?aATiger! Never heard of it, but I bet the fox I caught was bigger and funnier? she teased. Then a bet would begin and her butt would start its furious wiggle behind her, was she game? Of course she was game, she was Cecily. ?Yeah, I wanna, I wanna watch you eat my dust!? she squealed, leaping off her hind legs and into the forest, hitting the ground running. She didn?t know what a Tiger was, but she was soooo gona catch it before Signy. "Speech"
