They said that her mother could be found here. Senka wasn't entirely sure that she trusted the vague rumours that had reached her ears, but the scents that marked this border were familiar enough to the yearling wolfess. They tasted of her mother, as she had smelled in Senka's vaguest memories of the time before Ignis, when she had been young and carefree. But then she had gotten lost, and Ignis had been the one to find her, and not her mother. So she owed him that much. But Senka didn't particularly feel like it was a debt that needed to be paid back. She felt no bonds to the male, and it had been easy for her to leave her mentor of several seasons to search out the lands that her mother supposedly hailed from.

It had taken her a little while to finally decide to summon someone to the border. For a while, Senka had gone back and forth over whether she really wanted to call. Perhaps it would be best if she just waited until someone noticed that there was something wrong with the borders. It would probably be best, however, to simply get this over with. If the meeting went south, then Senka had plenty of escape options, and it was better to get this done with sooner rather than later. She still had yet to decide if she would stay with her mother - if her mother was indeed even here. But the best decisions were the ones that did not have to be made until later in the game, when all paths had been illuminated, and there were still things that had yet to come to light. Things Senka was curious about, in her own apathetic way.

And so, the multi-shaded gray female settled down just before the edge of the pack's territory and tilted her maw back to howl. The light noise called for any high ranked wolf, with no one in particular in mind. If her mother answered the call, then so be it. However, Senka wasn't quite searching out her mother just yet. No, instead, she wanted to know a little about the pack that her mother had joined. Would it be worth even entertaining the idea of joining her mother? Well, Senka wouldn't know for a little while yet.

Everything was starting to crash and crumble around him. Cat was sick, the first casualty in the plague that was beginning to sweep through the lands it seemed. It didn't look pleasant. If not for Basanti Kylar would have probably never left his love's side but his fear of what he might come back to. But despite the blood dripping from her eyes, the high fever and the hallucinations the rest of her vitals seemed stable enough to leave her for short periods of time. Today he had left with his daughter in tow, moving slowly so Basanti could stumble along rather awkwardly behind him. She was still too young to really understand, not even a month old. It was probably for the best. But still he didn't like her being around her mother for too long. Cat seemed to be only lucid half the time now, hallucinating the rest of the time. He didn't know what to do... He was lost and confused and suddenly all the anger and hatred and rage he had felt towards Cat had melted away into guilt. But at the same time some of that rage still coiled beneath the surface, ready to strike. He was ready to chase Lekan away should the stupid brat try and show his face while Cat was sick.

A howl alerted him to a stranger at the boarder and slowly the male would lift his skull, nose quivering at the scent before turning his skull to smile at his daughter as she halted beside him. "Well... Lets go see whats up..." He rumbled, voice a soft growl almost though his smile gentled his tone a bit. He didn't really have time to let Basanti toddle along behind him so slowly he would lean down, reaching to collect his daughter in his jaws. She curled easily into a ball as he lifted her by the scruff and started off at a long legged walk. She was still light but Kylar was huge so it was easy enough. The boarder was close, he had been headed there to do his rounds and luckily she was only another 5 minutes to the right hand side of the boarder. He slowed as he approached the grey girl, spots lining her face. Was this one of Cat's daughters? They had never spoken much of them so he could only guess. Slowly he would put Basanti down, stepping forward to stand over her as he studied the woman carefully. "Its sort of a bad time... But how can I help you?" His voice was slightly strained, he was stressed but he was doing his best to try and keep it together while everything fell apart around him.

The first wolf to answer her call did not look particularly familiar, though that was probably to be expected. It had been quite some time since she had been here. The pup that he carried, however, looked slightly more familiar than the male, at least. A daughter, perhaps? But she had similar facial markings to Senka herself, something that she had inherited from her mother. Was this a sister, then? Had she found the right place? There was a faint tinge of excitement to Senka's thoughts as the realization hit her. Maybe she was in the right place and she would find her mother soon. That would be nice.

Ears pricked towards the male, Senka listened to the words that fell from his maw, though most of her attention was focused elsewhere. She noted the way he stood over the pup, protecting it. Did he possibly think Senka was a threat?

There were many potential explanations for the stranger's behavior, however. Perhaps it was simply due to this being a 'bad time.' Though Senka was vaguely curious as to what could characterize this as a bad time, she shrugged the vague thought away. "My mother. Cataleya." Senka spoke carefully, voice devoid of emotion, "I seek news of her." Judging by the pup that the stranger had appeared with, he would have at least a little news of the wolf that had brought her into the world. But perhaps he wouldn't and perhaps Senka would continue on her way. Though that seemed slightly unlikely considering the markings of that pup.

Was this Zaria and Sora's sister? The marking were hard to ignore but at the same time there was so many more dots and she was a lighter colour then the other two. Was it possible? Verdent gaze would flitter to his daughter, to the marks she bore on her face and then back to the young woman before her. She defiantly had some similarities. Then the girl would speak and Kylar would laugh softly. "I thought you looked like her?" He said easily despite the girls almost cold demeanour towards him. She sot new of her mother? Were they close? She seemed devoid of emotion but not volatile or harsh. Ears folded to his skull and again he would look down at the small pup seated between his forepaws who seemed interested in what was going on but not overly understanding. Still? it was probably for the best. "Cat is here. She is my queen and this one's mother. She's sick? I think there's a plague going around." Very blunt and to the point. What she did with the information would be up to her. He was fairly sure the disease wasn't contagious, he had been with Cat almost every day since her sickness and had yet to have any of the symptoms she showed. But would the girl want to see her mother in her worst state?

The girl didn't know what was going. Her mama was sick, she knew that much. And now she spent most of her time with her daddy. Today was one of those days. She followed him around, tumbling over her own feet. When a call reached them, her verdant gaze would tip up towards her dad, looking at him curiously. Her tail wagged furiously as he told her that she would get to go with him. As her picked her up, she would curl her legs inward, forming a new perfect ball. Excitement made her vibrate in her fathers jaws, eyes trying to focus enough to see the world that was flying by.

They would reach the border, and waiting for them was a silver woman, much larger than herself but smaller than her daddy. She would be set down and her father would move to stand over her. Jumping to her paws, the little girl would peek out from between her fathers front legs, peering up at the stranger. She would listen to her daddy speak, her gaze never leaving the woman. She had spots on her face like her mama! And when she spoke, she spoke her mothers name. Her mama was also Cataleya! She struggled to stay put until her father spoke, seeming to confirm the information.
The little bundle of black fur would shoot forward, escaping her fathers grasp. She would bound towards the girl who was her sister. She jump at her silver legs, a little bark breeching her jaws. "Hello! I'm Basanti!" She would peer up at the girl, her tail wagging furiously, vibrating her entirely body. A grin stretched across her face, clearly unfazed but the fact that this girl was a stranger.

And so she had assumed correctly. This male had knowledge of her mother; he recognized her at the very least. This satisfied Senka, and she nodded when the male spoke. Though she had little to add to his statement, Senka wished to show that she wasn't entirely ignoring him. It was true that she took after her mother; the dots that lined her face had no cousins in anything that Senka had seen during her seasons of wandering with Ignis.

It was the stranger's next words that really caught Senka's attention. A plague, a queen. And a new litter? It seemed that Senka had missed more than she'd anticipated. "I will see her, sick or not, if you will escort me to her." Though her voice was calm, Senka desired to hear the other saying that he would escort her. She would not trespass on the pack's territory, even if it was a pack that her mother ruled. It wasn't a safe thing to do - and Senka was cautious, even now, about crossing the border. Still, the desire to see her mother pulled at her paws just a little, a foreign emotion stirring in her veins. It wasn't much, but it was more emotion than Senka had felt in some time now.

Glancing down at the pup as it launched itself at her paws, Senka twitched her ears, unsure how to react. She didn't move, letting the black pup do as it saw fit to her legs. What did one do with pups? "I'm Senka. Your sister." Hmm. Senka didn't have much experience with youngsters, but this one didn't seem too bad. Not as obnoxious as some could be. She almost wanted to ask the male that seemed to be this one's father if there were more, but couldn't bring herself to really care enough to ask.

ooc;; sorry for crap replies, trying to get all caught up

Ky tipped his head as Senka basically demanded that he take her to her mother and for a moment he would blink, looking at her easily. He said nothing at first, letting her demands sink in. Yes she was a princess and his love's daughter but rude much? There had been both a question and a demand there, he recognized that she knew he held rank but at the same time she hand't exactly phrased that the best. He couldn't help his lip curling a bit, almost ready to tell her to fuck off. Would Cat even want to see her daughter in her current state? Though if this was contagious then Basanti and Senka were both already fucked so what was the harm. It seemed as if on cue his daughter would toddle forward in an attempt to make a new friend. Kylar had always treasured his daughters happy and curious demeanour but today he didn't know how he felt about it. The girl introduced herself as Senka after Basanti introduced herself quite cheerfully. But their short interaction gave him some time to think about his response. Finally he would sigh and nod. 'Fine... Come with me." He said before reaching forward to retrieve Basanti, grasping her firmly at the scruff and turning before setting off back towards Cat's den. Towards their den... He moved at a mix of a lope and a trot, eager to see if Cat was still okay. As he approached he would place Basanti down and nudge her gently inside. "Cat..? Someone's here to see you" His words were a soft murmur, remaining outside for the time being.

She spent most of her time sleeping, forcing herself into sleep to avoid anymore bouts of rage. It was sporadic and uncontrollable when the rage consumed her, it was unlike anything she had ever experienced. Her daughter stayed with Kylar most of the time, her little girl remaining stay and unharmed. The silver Queen laid curled up in her den, the scent of her heat, blood and illness was thick, suffocating her constantly, she had no idea how Kylar managed. Audits swiveled, the sound of paws striking the earth getting closer. Her crown would lift, her lovers voice filling the den. Coral pools peered toward the entrance, smiling as she saw Basanti.

Curiosity had the woman rising. Who could possibly want to see her? It must be important if Kylar brought them when she was sick. The Queen would slip from her den, shaking out her pelt before rising to her full height. She met her Dukes gaze before drifting to the woman beside him. There were no words to describe how surprised she was, though her face remained blank. "Senka?" Words were gentle, slightly monotoned, her gaze roaming her daughters figure. She hadn't seen her in ages, her little girl had grown up into a beautiful woman.

A slow smile curled her lips, though she didn't move to embrace her daughter like she wanted, she didn't want to risk her daughters health. "I've missed you." She would smile earnestly now, her tail wagging slowly behind her. Shivers wracked her behemoth frame, blood still seeping from her eyes, but the temptress held herself with dignity and strength, refusing to look in front of anyone. "How have you been?" Audits stood at attention, eager to hear how her daughter had been fairing.

Senka's relief was palpable when Kylar said that he would escort her. Though he seemed less than pleased by her 'request,' Senka herself hardly cared. "Thank you." It was rare for Senka to thank another, but she found the words falling from her maw without second thought. He was taking her to her mother, the wolf that she had come to these lands seeking, and for that Senka would owe him. And if he was the father of another litter of her mother's children, well, it was likely that Senka would be seeing a lot of him in the upcoming seasons.

She hesitated for a moment - it still wasn't too late to back out, she counselled herself. If she fled right now, it wouldn't be too late. But instead, Senka took a deep breath and stepped over the borders of the pack's territory, and followed after Kylar's pawsteps, allowing him to lead the way across the lands until they reached her mother's den. Senka's nostrils flared a little as she smelled the air that rolled out of the den, which fairly reeked of illness and blood, not a particularly pleasant combination. But despite the almost sickly sweet smell of disease twining with the metallic tang of blood, Senka stepped forward, inclining her head in Kylar's direction as she approached her mother.

It brought a strange mixture of emotions to the surface of Senka's mind to hear her mother address her. There was happiness there, stronger than many emotions that Senka had experienced, and a little bit of sadness at seeing her mother in this state, though her mother seemed determined not to show weakness. And Senka could see herself in the woman who stood before her; her carefully controlled body language hid all weakness, the self control that Senka's own echoed. She was her mother's daughter all right, Senka thought with a hint of amusement.

Her tail wagged slowly in the air, a conscious display of Senka's happiness at seeing her mother again. "I missed you too, mother." Strangely enough, Senka realized as she said it that that was the truth. She had missed her mother, though she hadn't realized it before this moment. Ignis had never had any true claim over her, though he had looked after her for a few seasons. "I've been all right... I trained while I was gone," She didn't want her mother to think that she had gotten soft, that she would not be able to contribute to the pack that she ruled. "But how have you been?" Senka took a half step forward, glancing from Kylar to her mother and back again. Was she allowed to approach her mother? How contagious was this sickness?

Her daughters tail would wag with obvious delight. Never had the Queen expected to see Senka again. The sentiment would be returned, but the girl was quick to say that she had been training, as though she worried what might be thought of her if she hadn't been training. "I'm glad to hear that." Her words slightly amused as she reclined onto silver haunches. Her daughter was return the question, though it was obvious that right now she was not doing good. "I was doing excellent until about a week ago when this damned plague struck." Irritation lined her words as she shook her head. Her tail would curl around her, her silver bodice quivering slightly. A fever in the winter was probably the worst thing ever, there was no getting warm, only cold and colder. Coral pools rested on her daughter easily, carefully examining her. "Zaria and Sora are here too. But Zaria is also sick." She worried about her second daughter, a cure had not yet been found, and they still knew nothing about this disease. Would they all die from it?

Simply nodding at Cataleya's first comment, Senka remained silent to allow her mother the chance to answer her first question - though at least a little bit of the answer was obvious considering the sickness that wracked her mother.Still, considering Senka wasn't in any rush and was still a little out of her comfort zone and feeling out this conversation a touch, she didn't mind letting her mother talk.

The plague had occurred only a week ago? Senka was rather surprised by this knowledge in all honesty. She had assumed that it had lasted a while now, though clearly that had been wrong. That's what she got for assuming, Senka thought wryly, ears perking towards her mother. "I'm glad, Mother." well, that her mother had been doing all right for at least a while, not that her mother had been sick. Senka was sure her mother could figure out that part at least.

At the mention of her siblings, Senka hesitated, a flurry of questions almost escaping her. However, plenty of practice in self control kept Senka from uttering a thousand questions about her siblings, new and old. "Are there others?" Did Basanti have any siblings? Senka kind of wanted to meet more of her siblings -or perhaps just revisit Sora and Zaria. They surely had a lot to catch up on, right? She had missed them too, though not as much as her mother and much more vaguely, which was saying something considering how vaguely she had missed her mother.

short, crappy post :/

Her daughter appeared pleased. But she wanted to know more about her siblings, or rather, how many more there were. The Queen would chuckle softly. "Its only you, Zaria, Sora, and now Basanti, whom you've just met." Her newest daughter was quite the character, had quite the personality. A fit of coughing would violently shake her body. A growl would end the coughing and she would look back at her daughter. "I need to go lay down, and I don't want you to get sick." She would rise slowly, shaking out her pelt before she would turn back towards her den. "Go find your brother and sister, I'll find you again when Im well. You may stay if you wish, with the rank of Princess." She would look over her shoulder and smile at the girl before slipping back into her den.

Senka listened curiously to her mother's words, reacting only when Cataleya mentioned staying "I would be honored to stay, Mother." Senka stated simply, tail waving just slightly in the air behind her to show her excitement at the idea. To join her mother again would be something that Senka would enjoy.

And with that, Senka allowed her mother to retreat before turning to pad into Arcanum territory and explore it more properly. She wished to learn all that she could about this pack, if she was going to be staying here. And while she had met at least three of its members, there was more to learn and more to see, and Senka was determined to see it all. She needed to get a proper feel for her mother's pack lest she give it a bad name by acting inappropriately.
