His mother had been away a lot recently, apparently his sister was sick? how the two were connected was beyond him. What mattered was that Taddeo missed his mom, he wanted to see her and he was determined to find her. It was just like playing hide and seek with his sisters! The boy had set out from the den earlier than usual that day and had spent a great deal of his time trying to pick up his mother?s scent. Finally having managed that he was doing his best to follow it; this was considerably harder than expected as it began to mix with a rather disturbing overpowering stench.
Worry filled the small boy as he slunk through the pack lands, the scent beginning to overpower everything. He had the distinct feeling he shouldn?t be here.

Emer hated that Cecily was sick, she hated that there was no cure yet but most of all she hated the wedge that this stupid epidemic had driven between her family. Valerius was nothing short of a Godsend, why on earth he continued to put up with her messed up little family was beyond her and yet she was grateful and welcome for all of the help he gave them. He was doing a wonderful job of watching Taddeo and Signy for her whilst she remained caring the best she could for their sickly sister but even knowing that they were in safe hands wouldn't stop her from missing her other two children. She saw them as much as she could but of course it could never be enough. She longed for them to be the happy family they once were, altogether.
A visit was always upon her mind, whether it would be Valerius checking in to see if she or Cecily needed anything or give her news on anything or ultimately those occasions were he would take her place watching over Cecily and she could steal some time with Taddeo and Signy. It hadn't happened for a few days now and she was of course missing them dearly though with Cecily still ill in the den she wouldn't and couldn't leave the her alone.
To her surprise however it seemed that she would be getting a visit soon after all. Valerius had done his best to keep Taddeo and Signy away from the den in fact up until today he had achieved that goal perfectly but as the Autumnal hued woman sat at the entrance of the den, golden gaze would suddenly catch sight of her little boy a rather worried expression crossing his features.
Of course she was shocked to see Taddeo there, though delighted to see her son there would be no scolding for now as she ventured closer towards him, her aim of course to keep him from the den and Cecily. "Taddeo" Her tone was warm as she spoke, greeting the boy cheerfully. Having not yet washed since her last contact with Cecily she would keep some distance though despite longing to embrace him. "You're not meant to be here right now." It was hardly much of a scolding but she had to warn him anyway.
The earthen boy was more than happy to see his mother, in fact he was relieved he was starting to think he might have wandered far enough away from the main pack lands and into the pack of someone else entirely, that would certainly explain the new and overpowering scent. The child picked up his pace, fully meaning to embrace his mother, tail beating a mile a minute as he trotted towards her. It was her words however that made the boy stop in his tracks a frown creasing his brow and making him halt before her.
So tantalizingly close.
Taddeo cocked his head the side, clearly unhappy at his mother?s words. "Why not momma?" He asked, a whine starting to creep its way into his voice. "How come you can be here but not me or Signy?" There wasn?t a hint of a whine now, it was all a whine and the boy?s tail only wagged slightly as it hung limp.
