((apologies for the short crappiness, I don't have a computer currently :( but wanted to get this going. Set after Morphine was banished but before the pack meeting.))

Kaien was dead... Though the thought itself didn't bother her terribly it was her replacement that Vi worried about. Would Morphine remain in power or would she be booted? What would happen to Vi? She had clawed her way up the ranks and didn't plan on releasing her choke hold on her beta position any time soon. She hated change, last time ranks had changed they had been left with Kaien... Morphine had restored her faith in Tortuga, restored her desire to help and be useful within the pack. She was still stalking Valhallan lands almost every day waiting for the treacherous bitch to venture from her new home. She wasn't confidant enough to run into Valhalla and kill her. It was all a waiting game... But would the new alpha want her to carry on with that? Did Vi even care what this new female had to say? She needed to speak with Morphine, they needed to sort everything out, she needed instruction from the one true queen Vi had pledged her allegiance to. If Morphine wanted to lead Vi would follow, it was as simple as that.

Red lady had traveled to the delta, having followed Morphines scent west towards the battlefield but not wanting to interrupt she had loosed a howl instead, a request for the ice queen to meet the red seductress at the Delta. It was close enough to home to not be a huge trek as well it was far enough away that they were less likely to be disturbed. It seemed her whole world would topple around her all in a matter of a week. Little did she know of the queens banishment, that she would soon be stripped of her rank and forced to fight to get it back. At the same time her brother was off maybe getting himself killed. Why would the goddess do this to her? Why would she send her favourite pupil to his death and leave Vi alone? She felt so alone...

White paws pressed softly against the damp sand, the tide just going out this morning. And leaving the beach hard packed and pleasant to walk on. Head tipped back even as she walked, another call for her muse, for her queen. It gave her location, a song of directions and a request to join the red woman on her walk. It was nice to explore the East every so often, she had spent so much time staking out the west that she almost forgot the beauties surrounding her own home. Maybe she would spend a few days here, if the new top bitch would allow it, but who knew...maybe she would be a good queen... Maybe she would finally give them the war they needed. While the alliances between the other packs was still in the beginning stages. They needed more wolves though, they needed to recruit more... Vi had been trying and she knew Ulrike had been as well but they had been fairly unsuccessful thus far.

Thank you Lube ♥

Morning had taken Alacritis in its hold, bearing rays of sunshine and cloudless skies that hardly accommodated the mood that the pallid ex-queen found herself in. Only the previous night had she been stripped of her high-status title and superiority over the pack that she had grown so fond of and forbidden to even set paw within its boundaries that she had identified. But soon, her feminine scent would be erased from the borders and replaced with the rancid stench of Desdemona, and Morphine could not help but wonder whether or not her memory would be effaced along with it. Perhaps the new Vecaan was correct in presuming Morphine had done little to nothing to aid the pack on its way to greatness and perhaps Desdemona was not alone in feeling this way, but surely someone would miss her ? wouldn?t they? She had played a role in the pack from its very birth and had befriended few of her packmates along the way, but had her role been significant enough to derive sympathy from any of Tortuga towards her current situation?

Only negative answers to her unspoken questions and worries seemed to loom over the woman as she traversed the shoreline of the river, the cool water lapping at her heels as she travelled with no destination set in mind. She was simply here to ponder over her thoughts and past events, attempting to formulate new plots and decide upon which path to take as none had been clearly set out before her. She had nowhere to go and no one to keep her company; she had been pushed back to the circumstances she faced before pledging her allegiance to Nnoitra and Tortuga. Despite how poor those circumstances seemed, Morphine refused to fear for her safety and her future ? she would figure everything out in due time as she always had. She would set her standards high and she would succeed; she just had to start from the bottom once more.

A familiar howl shattered the silence that had captivated the queen and her thoughts, causing the woman to halt in her travels and look back in the direction the call had emanated from. Metallic eyes narrowed to slits as she squinted, attempting to find the scarlet woman whom the howl belonged to. It was undoubtedly her assassin and Morphine would be foolish to avoid her, so she awaited her presence, her ears flicking forward as a second howl resonated from the woman, this time louder and clearer to signify her closeness. At last, Morphine could make out the beauty?s silhouette, pivoting to face Vi and setting off to meet her halfway, approaching her with the blank expression she normally retained that poorly portrayed the storm brewing within. Vi? she questioned despite knowing that it clearly was the russet beta who had called for her. Surely you know what has happened by now?

The wait wasn't long, the ice queen seeming to materialize in the distance before her and slowly draw closer. She had missed her queen, they had been apart since their original talk, when Morphine had finally given Vi a job that she desired to do. When she had taken the time to speak to the russet woman and find out what made her tick, something Kaien had never bothered to do. Maybe that was all she ever needed in a leader, someone who would put her to work, get to know her and give her a purpose in life. She and complacency didn't mix well at all. To sit and do nothing after the move from their old home had nearly killed her. Morphine had been her saving grace, her angel and for that Vi would do anything for her. Their new leader may be great, may do the same but Morphine had done it first and that would always be how it would go. She was a loyal bitch, only to one or two at a time though, the only thing that would ever sever those ties would be Morphine dismissing her or dying. And she prayed that neither would happen any time soon.

"My queen" Vi responded as she approached, easy smile settling on her features as it always did, head tipping politely to the side so her neck was in view. She would always submit to the ice queen... But smiles would dissipate as words turned to a more serious topic. She stood for a moment, gaze turning to the sea as the breeze tugged at immaculate fur. She had made sure to be well groomed for this meeting though she knew that she would never out shine her queen. Her white pelt was stunning as always, silver eyes sharp and invasive almost. She almost shivered but refrained as maw opened and words gathered in her throat. "I saw from a distance, Kaien's death, his forfeit and his weakness. I will admit to having never cared for him but he was our leader none the less and I was sorry that he had to die..." she said honestly. Morphine knew she had never really loved Kaien. She hadn't hated him but she had defiantly never cared for him or held any desire to go out of her way to do things for him.

But even as her words drifted away on the breeze a frown furrowed her brow, sharp graze turning to Morphine as she chose her next words carefully. She didn't want to make assumptions or say anything out of line so she settled for the most obvious question. "What does this mean for you?" She asked, though she really wanted to asked what it meant for them. Did the white bitch know how much Vi cared for her, that she would do whatever Morphine asked of her? Would Morphine stay with the pack, leave or challenge for sole ownership? Maybe Desdemona would ask Morphine to rule with her? There were so many options, so many questions to be answered but this was the most important. What happened to Morphine was all that mattered to her. It was all she wanted to know and they could and would speak from there.

Speech!
