Now was the time he'd finally be able to get away and get his thoughts straight. He no doubt felt he wad neglecting his sister, so he had asked prior for her to meet him at the island for some alone brother and sister time. Quelt was hoping she didn't hate him, after all his blood was important just as she was. His other siblings he didn't know where they had gone, but the fact was that Serra was here and it was his job to make sure she was okay. His bi colored orbs looked around for her as he gave a little heaved sigh. He also had a habit of burying his emotions, even if he was hurting he wouldn't let it on. He had to be strong, Quelt had to be a leader.
His black tail flicked behind him, as he searched the sky for a moment. He knew that Hajime was watching him. Oh yes, he still needed to ask Serra about their last names. He wanted to change them, but first had to inform everyone around him. Even Irune if she was going to join them in their pack if he ever got it. He was getting close to being ready, Quelt could taste it on his tongue. It was so close!

there's no surrender, 'cause there's no retreat

When Quelt had asked for her to meet him here, Serra had agreed without question. She had some things to tell him too, after all, and having some time with just her brother was a pleasant idea. He belonged to her now more than ever, in the aftermath of Irune's challenge. Whatever he chose to do, however, Serra would support him - even if he left Abaven behind to follow his love. She could understand that, she supposed, for she had left her family behind for him. She was devoted to him like he was devoted to Irune like Irune was devoted to her father. It was a vicious cycle, in Serra's eyes.

With that thought in mind, the platinum wolfess gave a soft snort, clearing her throat as she approached her brother slowly. "Quelt." she greeted him with a wave of her tail. Her voice was cooler than it might have been in other circumstances, perhaps, but other than that Serra seemed perfectly happy to see her brother. He was her Quelt after all, and she would love him until the end of time, no matter what he chose to do.

The fact that they might be talking about anything other than Quelt leaving (or doing something, at least, about Irune leaving them) had not even occurred to Serra. The wolfess truly thought that she knew what this conversation would be about, for to her, it was only obvious that he would be going after his companion. That was how family worked, right? Nothing else could make sense to her.

The male was of course worried about Irune, but if it was one thing he had was trust. He had many things tying him down here, and he had told Isardis that when he was a king he would be asking that Irune come with him. So, Abaven was his top priority, his family there was all he had. And he was creating something great one way another. No one had seen the evil or dark side of Quelt that was there, but it was well hidden. After all, he rarely snapped, only when he thought that someone he loved was in danger. As Serra approached his first worry was her feelings towards him anyway. He didn't want her to hate him, and he wanted to make sure his sister was alright.
"Serra, I've finally been able to pull some time out to see you. I hope you can forgive me from seeming so far okay. Have you been doing well in Abaven meeting new faces?" he asked. He couldn't resist leaning forward to rub his nose down her cheek in a little of affection. Before stepping back to give her some space just in case he was indeed pushing the small girls buttons. But it didn't change the fact that she was part of this family as well.
"Man, life has thrown me for a loop. But that just means I'll have to work harder for your guys future. I seem to have caused trouble for the whole pack so I need to get more involved even if we are leaving when I get my pack." Quelt laughed, wagging his tail back and forth. And he always did this, he never wanted to seem down. He didn't want to depress others with his heart ache that he would eventually get over, that was just how he was. And what he really wanted to do was give Bass some support.

The slate colored girl pressed her body into Quelt's quick touch, leaning towards him. The smallest of the Arrows then stretched up, licking the underside of his chin quickly. Having his attention (all of his attention) was something that Serra adored, even if the thing that had caused this was the love of his life being stolen. Was Serra jealous? Maybe, to be honest. But she loved him, and she would get over it soon enough; she recognized that this emotion would pass, and that soon she would be simply happy for his happiness. "I have enjoyed Abaven so far," Serra nodded easily, tail thumping contentedly against the earth. "And I have met a few new faces - none quite as interesting as yours, of course." The easy laugh that escaped her maw was unfamiliar - she had not laughed like this in some time, had she?

Tail curling slightly, Serra fell silent as Quelt began to speak, letting him say his piece. "That was not your fault, Quelt." Serra spoke simply, but confidently. "You could not have known that Isardis would come for his daughter in such a manner." Of course she assumed that this was about Irune - the thought that anything else might be bothering him hadn't really occurred to her. Still, she would hesitate before continuing, "Are you doing all right, Quelt? You know I will do anything that you need; just say the words." If he asked, she would march to Isardis' borders and battle him for Irune. Anything he needed, Serra would do. To her, that was what family did.

Of course his emotions had always been in a weird state ever since he came to Alacritis. He actually had previous connections with Armada's and he hadn't told anyone since he knew how much most of them hated them. His first little woman crush had been Roman the alphess of a northern empire. Though of course he saw her once or twice and then she slipped his mind until he ended up running into Irune. So he had been perfectly aware of the families upcoming. So it made him laugh a little sarcastically to Serra. "Actually I knew, Isardis had a little infamous reputation for himself on Alacritis. On top of that the first wolf I saw in Ala was one of his many children Roman before I even met Irune. He bred like a rabbit, you'd be surprised how many Armada's they are. And they are both infamous and famous at the same time." his tail flicked a little. So partly it was his fault since he knew how the man could have been so hot tempered. But regardless he still loved her, Irune he'd run to the ends of the earth to find her.
"You're not mad at me? I figured you'd give me an earful once you got me alone. For not speaking to you a lot. I'm fine really." he lifted a paw and waved it at her. Though it was sore from his fight with Bass, so the scab on his shoulder moved and he winced a little. Though he could easily admit he lost to the alpha. Which meant he needed to train harder. In order to get stronger, stronger, to be able to protect his pack and family from wolves like Isardis. "I've been thinking Serra, about changing our last names.....to walker. I don't know it just feels odd and I'm more involved with them than anything." he thought for a moment. It was an odd thought.

we used to swim in your stories and be pulled down by their tide

Letting Quelt speak was something that came naturally to Serra. His words were soft, but his laughter bitter, and it made Serra feel guilty. Had she made him feel bad? She had only hoped to comfort her dear brother; he did not deserve to blame himself for Isardis' actions. "That does not mean that it is your fault." Serra countered Quelt's statement with that same firm confidence that she had spoken with earlier. "Isardis seems to have had a lot of fun in his early years." Serra added dryly a moment later, snorting to herself as she gazed at her brother.

The change in topic was welcome - if a little saddening to Serra. "I don't think I could ever be mad at you for long." Serra admitted with a light laugh, tail wagging easily behind her. "I missed you a lot when you were busy with Irune, but that does not mean that I was angry." Though that was a bit of a lie, Serra would never have admitted to Quelt that she had been hurt and upset by that development. Quelt had meant no harm by it.

After a moment, he would continue (on a different subject altogether), and for a moment Serra would hesitate, mind flashing to thoughts of the family that she had left behind. "Quelt, I would be honored." The words spilled from her tongue impulsively as she gazed at the boy before her - the rest of their family was gone, and it was true, now that Quelt was raising the Walker youngsters, things had changed. Serra Walker had a nice ring to it anyways. "Serra Walker and Quelt Walker, huh?" Serra tested the name out with a soft laugh, grinning adoringly at her brother.

Of course Quelt was oblivious to how Serra had felt during his time with Irune. Yet that was just how his brain worked in the end, even though most of the time he wished to be a selfless freak. Yet at times like everyone else he had his ambitions that got in the way of his goals. Getting ahead of himself could be a problem in the future, but he had plenty of support to get through it. Soon, he would crawl to the top, and he would defend that with his life there. Every challenge for his pack would be life or death, and he would use his strength to defend his pride no matter what.
"Something unique, something new, but we'll always be brother and sister. Regardless of what happens." he grinned, and got closer to her. Bumping her with his rump as he looked at the tree's of the island. This was what life was, he would always bounce back to these emotions where ever he went that was for sure. "Don't tell anyone I lost against Bass in a challenge for rank okay, my reputation might get stewed! But I still am your superior now!" Quelt laughed. Explaining why he was injured on his left leg. But of course he had still proven some worth within his fighting skills.

i feel the heat, i see the light

Playfully, Serra stuck her tongue out at Quelt. The laughter that escaped her maw was surprisingly bright - something about spending time with this boy was therapeutic to her. Quelt had always been the one who meant the most to her, of all their siblings. Serra was no ninja, and she could not comprehend the hallucinations that haunted Wael; she was the odd one out compared to her other siblings. And Quelt had always loved her, no matter what. "Indeed." Serra agreed, her voice more solemn than it had been a few moments before. They would always be siblings, no matter what happened with Newol or Irune or anyone else, for that matter. There were some ties that nothing could change.

Blood was thicker than water, after all.

Distraction would appear in the form of Quelt adding something else, and Serra grinned at her brother once more. "You're my brother! You could be a King and you still wouldn't be that superior. Don't kid yourself." With Quelt, some of that typical formality faded from her words, Serra noted absently. But it didn't matter. "You will be able to defeat him soon, I am sure." This, Serra spoke with complete confidence.
