He had lost.

The pain that shot through him was not only from his wounds, but from the look in Irune's eyes. She said that she had basically given up on her, that he didn't try. The young king had tried, although the whole reason of the battle was lost on him. It had been Irune's choice to make, to go with Isardis or not, and yet still she sat there to watch the men fight. Yes, he wished to protect his members, but he was not a cruel leader. He did not force wolves to stay within his ranks, or to make them call Abaven home. It was something that they chose, and that they could leave at any point.

Blood ran down his face from the puncture marks around his muzzle, walking was painful from the large bruise in his shoulder. He had walked all this way, utterly defeated. What would Quelt think of him now? What would all of Abaven think of him, now that he had lost. Would they all vanish, claiming he wasn't enough to protect them all? Bass was trying his hardest, and this defeat did not sit well on his shoulders. The pain from his wounds was nothing, nothing compared to the pain of him losing. He was a failure, and he had not been able to defend a member, to show her that he was a strong leader.

Bass stumbled, his paws trying to catch himself as his severely bruised shoulder twinged, the pain making his cry out. Falling towards the earth, the boy did nothing to try and stop it. He let the ground greet his body in a rough hug, his flanks heaving as he panted through the pain. He was sure that his jaw was fractured, the amount of pressure that had been applied to the bite was great. Dull gold eyes slipped shut, readily welcoming the blackness that swallowed him whole.

It was just a casual day within Abaven. Wren had heard the cries and has drank in the aroma of blood from the claim challenge. She had faith in Bass...she knew he was strong enough to take on the challenger. But unfortunately...it seemed he had failed. The agonizing cry that rang out in the air immediately shot the woman to her paws. It was Bass- and he was definitely in pain. She instantly raced out of her den and propelled herself out of the area, making her way toward Bass' limp body to comfort him. Yes, Wren knew absolutely nothing about herbs and plants and all of that medical business. But Bass was her friend. She'd do anything to help him.
Finally, she arrived, and Bass looked horrifying. Blood covered his soft creamy fur, and from where she was standing, he looked practically dead. Gasping, Wren raced over and flopped down beside him, careful not to press up to his wounds. But she was close enough to comfort him and provide heat. "Bass...?" Her tongue slowly drew over his head, removing a small amount of blood. But she was basically trying to see if he was okay...and to comfort him while he felt weak and defeated. "Speech"

Motif had been at the scene of the fight, had watched the whole atrocious thing. On more then one occasion she had wanted to throw herself into the battle but knew her brother would not appreciate the help, despite his bewilderment at the reason behind the fight in the first place. With dark eyes she had hesitated before following after her brother dear. She could see that Irine seemed happy to follow her nee leader, which seemed also to defeat the whole purpose of the fight. Shaking her head she would follow the trail of misery back to abaven until she found her brother again.

She would glare at the stranger that placed herself beside bass, in the spot that motif saw as her own, but would say no words of anger before her injured family. The abaven queen would gently place herself down at her brothers otherwise, curling her tail about him and simply waiting until he was ready to speak. She didn't pester him with questions, but simply radiated love for her dear brother and leader she respected.

ooc: premission given to pp xae.

Everything about this day had been awry -- awkward -- and hadn't held the sense of normalcy the Tagavor desired. Her fur prickled, sensing an ache in her heart, just moments before a sound of pain and her brother's scent would come. Instantly the mocha capped healer would gather a bundle of herbs, mismatched gems quickly finding each required plant, and she would moisten a ball of moss in the rapids moments before she would bound across and find her way to Bass. She would find him, fainted and covered in wounds. Already his two women had come, Wren and Motif. A tiny smile would form up inky lips before she would approach his side, gazing upon his wounds. "By the gods, what happened to him?" Her voice would sound upon the air, mismatched gems turning to Motif, as she seemed to have her bearings of what event had caused their brother to be so mangled. The rusty boy she knew as her younger apprentice would arrive -- Xae -- and the mocha cloaked tempest would nudge her herb bundle toward the boy, mismatched gems calm and collected. "Xae, I would like for you to put your skills to the test... remember, always stay calm and collected while healing." Gently she would give him a bump on the shoulder and lick his cheek in gratitude.

Xae was ashamed of himself the moment he arrived on the scene. Bass had been in a battle. And Xae, a mid-ranking healer, had not been witness to it. He should have been there, should have been close enough to hear the challenger's call, to be right at Bass's side when his leader finished the fight and needed his wounds tended to. But if he were honest, Xae had never, not once, imagined that Bass would need tending to. So he felt shamed. It didn't matter how highly he thought of Abaven's Azat - he should have been prepared. He was a Vor now. Bass had upped him in the ranks, because he had taken notice to Xae's hard work. He should have been there. Even if there would have been nothing to do, even if the outcome would have ultimately been the same, he should have been there. But Xae said nothing, not a single word left his tightly shut muzzle as he set to work, having arrived shortly after he heard Bass's cry of pain. It irked him that he was not the first, and that he didn't even recognize one of the females who had curled herself around him. He couldn't help but send a lingering glance at Harmony, who had decided to let Xae put his skills to use, and he couldn't help the way his heart quickened. She was trusting him. She was trusting Xae to properly care for her wounded brother. The memory of her tongue's caress over his cheek caused his heart to pound louder, and he again recalled her sweet scent, the touch of her fur against his. He pushed the thoughts away, remembering that she was entrusting Bass's care to him. His heart swelled with pride as his nose gently ran all along Bass's body, trying not to hurt him anymore than he already was. Everything seemed to be centered near Bass's front half, so Xae could mentally picture the fight.

He could see the obvious wounds. Bass had punctures on his upper and lower muzzle, the ones under his chin being the worse. Blood flowed freely from the wounds. As Xae's nose carefully ran along the bones, he was able to feel a small crack, a tiny imperfection in the otherwise straight bone structure. His right forelimb had more minor scratches, and an image of a great black beast - fore who else would cause such damage to the seemingly invincible Abaven leader but a great black demonic beast? - raking its nails down Bass's limb caused an unusual feeling of anger to flow through the russet male's veins. The scratches didn't appear to be serious, so Xae moved on. He noticed swelling on Bass's right shoulder, and as he gently but firmly nudged the skin, he could feel its tightness. The same swelling could be found at the forefront of the right side of the Azat's ribcage, just behind his elbow. Xae was able to determine that the most serious injuries were, indeed, the punctures on his muzzle and the fracture in his jaw. Nothing was life-threatening, and that did allow him to relax - albeit very minimally. He looked at the bundle of herbs that Harmony had brought and sent her a thankful look. Of course she would have dandelion root. He quickly chewed up the root and used his tongue to apply the poultice to Bass's right shoulder and his ribs. He used the soaked moss ball to clean the dried and caked blood from his leader's pale fur. As he turned to look through her herbs, he noticed that she didn't have any spiderweb, which wasn't a shock to him. It wasn't something entirely well-known, and Xae himself only knew of it from his parents. Without a word - not intending to be cold, but not seeing a point in wasting anymore time with words - Xae turned and began searching for webs.

The russet male brought the bundle back to Bass, carefully lying the webs in a clean grassy spot on the ground. He glanced at the pale female beside Bass, questions alighting his pale gaze, but still the boy remained quiet as he lowered his head, gently running his tongue over the Azat's muzzle to clean away the new blood that had dripped down. When the fur and injuries were as clean as they'd get, Xae began carefully rolling the webs into balls between his teeth, his lips curled so they didn't get in the way. Truthfully, were the situation not so serious, it would have been a comical sight; a dark rust-tainted wolf using his teeth and the dried tip of his tongue to create a ball of spiderweb, lips pulled back far away from teeth. When he was satisfied and had the appropriate number of spiderweb balls, he carefully began applying the first one. He glanced at Motif, then Harmony as he carefully and gently worked the thin parts of the web underneath the skin, silently searching for their help to keep Bass still if the pain became too much. But, though Xae pulled back, his work was far from finished. He took a breath, looking down at Bass. "This is going to hurt, but I need you to be still." His voice was both soft and firm, soothing and yet commanding. He glanced at the two Destruction females again, and then the pale unnamed female lying at Bass's side. Without wasting more seconds, Xae bent down and, as gently as he possibly could, used his upper and lower canines to squeeze the wound shut over the web. No matter what Bass did, whether he did in fact struggle, or whether he lied there patiently and obedient, Xae finished quickly. The web held the skin together like it was supposed to.

Xae repeated the same process for each puncture. For the scrapes on his alpha's forelegs, Xae simply licked them clean. The scrapes wouldn't need to be held together, and would heal perfectly on their own. He had noticed that Harmony had Boswellia resin, and mentally thanked her as he scooped the strange dry-but-liquidy substance up with a piece of bark. He lowered the resin in front of Bass. "This is resin from a Boswellia tree. It will help with inflammation, which will help with pain. You need to ingest it." The russet leggy boy glanced at Harmony, both for reassurance, and to make sure she would add anything if she felt anything needed to be added. "We should bring him to his den. And... maybe give him poppy seeds to help him sleep." He kept his eyes on Harmony as he suggested this, hoping the pale she-wolf would approve of everything he'd done.

OOC NOTE: I didn't realize that Bass was passed out, but Eve told me that he's waking up anyway, and was awake for Xae's treatment. So, yeah. XP

The young beauty had filled out nicely thanks to the healing treatment she had gained here on these pack lands although she was still thin in herself and looked like she was through the wars thanks to the few mats that lunged in her fur she was able to rome around once more. as the days followed she seemed to find herself following her doctor xae around as if she was a young pup following her mother but the thing was she felt as though she needed to repay the kindness that this place had given her it wasn't often that one would care for a loner so easily so she owe this place her life and so wanted to help out as much as she could.

As normal her ink covered paws followed silently behind Xae as he ran off on his next mission in the hopes she could find some way to help him and so she mentally prepared herself for any task that she may be asked to do. however as the scent of blood irritated her nose. the black female froze as her honey orbs rested upon the male that was collapsed and wounded upon the domain The wolf that had help her was now in need of help himself. Sorrow soon filled her optics so much so that tears were visible within her orbs and threatened to overflow at any moment as she slowly moved forwards before she reclined to rest her rump on the domain while she continued to over the kings frame, she did not know of the battle so she wondered what could have caused this. wallowing in her own thoughts while the males was treated she failed to really notice anyone else in the area before her ears picked up on Xae's orders to move bass to the den. shaking her thoughts from her mind she pulled herself to her paws to show she was willing to help in any way possible

Darkness was all the boy knew at the moment, the endless blackness slipping on and on. Was he dead? Was this all death was, black? Not being aware? But no, he hadn't been dying when he wandered back into his lands, just hurt. So he couldn't be. Not unless Isardis followed him to finish what he started. He was cold, but that didn't last for long. Heat swelled around him suddenly, scaring him and causing him to whimper. hushed whispers were heard, but he could but no meaning to the soft spoken words. It was as if they were being spoken from the end of a tunnel, he wasn't even able to put names to the words. He felt soft touches along his skin, sweet and gentle. Still Bass did not open his eyes though, he only existed in the dark.

More heat followed, more soft words. It wasn't until Xae noses at his form did he claw towards the surface, the touches setting hid body on fire. Golden eyes flew open as the pain once more took hold of him. they flew around, unable to focus on the many shapes that hovered above him. And then he saw their faces, all mixed together. Wren, Harmony, Motif, all but one of his favorite girls. And then Xae, the faithful healer that worked with strength at his sisters side. His eyes lingered on Wren, wide eyed in pain as he searched to focus on Motif. She had seen him fail. Ears pressed flat against his skull at his gaze dropped, a mournful whine leaving his lips. Failure. "S-sorry." He managed, the words burning as they pushed through his injured muzzle. He could almost feel the fractured bones rubbing together, making him flinch in pain as he kept it shut.

He wanted to appear strong in front of his members, so taking a deep breath he closed his eyes once again as Xae started to clean his wounds. It stung when the males soft tongue brushed against the new wounds, but he knew that it was vital to keep them clean. The Vor told him to sit still and Bass squeezed his eyes shut tight, his paw feeling for Motif as he clung to her leg. As he worked along his jaw he flinched, trying to hold as still as possible as pain at the rough touch seared his young body. When he pulled back, his body slumped further into the ground. The constant throbbing pain made him feel weak and tired, and he wanted nothing more than to hide himself from his pack. Alpha's were not weak.

A strange resin was placed in front of his face, Xae's words making him open his eyes to the world once more. Licking up the bitter substance hurt, but he trusted this Vor. Sucking his tongue back in, his ears pressed further back when he talked about moving him to his den. "I can do it myself." He spoke, trying to sound strong, even though every word that left his mouth hurt more than the rest. Taking in a breath he tried to pull himself onto his limbs, his entire body shaking with the effort. He managed to stand, although he was far from stable. His side hurt when he breathed, his shoulder almost giving out under the pressure. Lifting his head and tail high, Bass took a few shaky steps, trying to show that he was strong. He would not let his pack think he was weak. No, he had already lost.

Bass could not hide the pain as he took another shaky step, his front legs collapsing under the pain. Huffing as he fell into a bow, the Azat struggled to pick himself up. No, he would not show his suffering. Sucking in another breath, it took several heart beats for him to finally stand up, trying to take one last step.

The she-wolf froze as a cry of pain reached her ears. Her muzzle parted slightly as she breathed in; the scent of blood was sharp but not unexpected. Nor was it unexpected that the blood was clearly from Bass, for he had been in a battle, although she still approached with trepidation towards the origin of the cry. What if he was hurt badly? Screw that, she knew he was hurt badly, and that the battle did not go well. And bluntly put, that completely scared her.

She sped up, hurrying as quickly as she could towards him. As she neared, she could smell other wolves there too. Xae...Harmony...Wren...and a new wolf whose name she did not know. Even all of their scents did nothing to reassure her, and it certainly did not help that when she finally came into view Bass was trying to walk. Towards his den. Without help. "Idiot," Mira swore, trotting over towards her struggling alpha and putting her shoulder to his. He was going to hurt something worse if he kept this up. "Stop being so stubborn, dear Azat, and lean on me before you collapse." She scowled at him. "And I must stress, you don't have a choice about leaning on me. So do it or I swear you will be carried like a pup who is too lazy to walk on his own." At this moment, she did not give a damn about her bluntness, and the fact she was pretty much threatening her alphaalpha. "Oh, and you scolding me for being blunt can wait until you don't have a messed up muzzle."

The challenged had passed, and the man had seemed to be totally fine for a moment. Of course he was conflicted, of course he was upset. But at Bass, no, never. He didn't blame the man for loosing, it wasn't like they could win every moment in their lives. Being strong was being able to bounce back from it, and having the support of others around you. Right now Quelt figured, Bass needed some encouragement from him. Not only that but he wanted to reassure his alpha that things would be okay. Life moved in that weird way. And he could already see the other gathering around the injured male trying to get him to sit still and be healed. The large male would come to stand in front of Bass, at first his expression was blank as he stood tall. But then a small smile crept on his face.
"Bass-sama, please rest, you were injured quiet some by that man." he would start in a soft voice. "No matter what happens, I will always see you as a friend and a part of my family. So don't think you failed, we are not perfect, we will not win every fight. And if any wolf thinks that is the case, then they should try thinking about how you feel. You are a strong alpha, and it will stay that way with me no matter how many times something like this happens. We live we learn, you are my friend and I don't want to see you hurt. Look at everyone around you, look how much they care, these are your members. These are the wolves of Abaven. We are YOUR family bass, we will always love you, for you." Quelt's black tail flicked back and forth as he looked up at the others than back as Bass. He hoped he wasn't speaking out of turn. He just wanted to speak his mind. And hopefully, it helped some.

Others began to arrive, including Harmony, Motif, and some other unfamiliar wolves. The first one that arrived, the Azgrat, didn't seem to happy that Wren was so close to Bass. She probably didn't know of their friendship. But it didn't matter. Bass needed help...and bickering wouldn't do it. So Wren just continued to comfort her friend, often drawing her tongue along his head or ears. And she was extra careful not to get near the wounds. Of course until Harmony and Xae arrived. Once they did, she slowly stood up and backed away, sitting down and watching the medics do what they could on Bass.
Her soft green eyes were full of worry and stress...but she knew Harmony and Xae would do everything they could. And Bass was strong. Even if he lost to Isardis...he was still the king Abaven needed. No other brute could take his place. Slowly would Wren tuck her tail over her paws, ears flattening back against her skull as she watched Bass whine and whimper in agony. But suddenly, he began to limp toward his den, and the woman rushed to help him. Until Mirabelle showed up instead and threatened him. Quelt had gone up and said a few words to Bass- but Wren didn't pay attention. She was too furious to listen.
But she didn't know that Mirabelle was just trying to help- Wren didn't see it like that. Heck, she was too nervous and stressed out to think about it like that. The woman immediately stood up and ran over, lips curling back and eyes narrowing as she stopped beside the russet-hued woman. Violent growls erupted from the depths of her throat, tail slowly aligning with her spine. "You...you rat! How dare you threaten him!?" She had of course spoken after Quelt had. But oh, what she would give to tear into the neck of this woman. But no...she knew Bass wouldn't appreciate that. Not one bit.

Xae quickly began to work after she would allow caring for Bass and trusting Xae to care for him correctly was a test he had passed with flying colors. "You have become an excellent healer, Xae." Mismatched gems observed his every movement, and she would curious when the boy left for a brief moment to retrieve a white substance. 'Spiderweb, of course. Sometimes an apprentice teaches his mentor.' She watched her weak brother gently, mismatched gems shimmering as she gave him a gentle lick upon his skull. She observed him standing up, shuddering on weak limbs and attempting to reach his den, which was much too far. The slate-blue male she knew as Quelt would arrive, a speech of truth and honesty causing the medic to tear up, marveling at how loyal and caring he was. She had begun to stand to allow him a shoulder to lean on, but Mira showed up, speaking of dominance, a habit she had. But to Harmony, she had heard it as a threat, and it set her on fire. A sharp bark would come from inky lips, as she would approach Mira, standing at the side of the girl Bass was friends with. "Who do you think you are, Mira. You cannot treat Bass like a child. He is our leader, and our family, and it is not your place to demand from him." She would not fight the tempest, but she really wanted to. She knew nothing of the adrenaline of battle, and it was not like her to assault one she called a friend.

His heart soared sky high when Harmony praised him, and his eyes lingered on her approving face for a moment longer than intended. The shuffling of paws caught his attention, and he noticed Bass attempting to stand and walk on his own. Immediately, Xae moved to help him, even if he would have likely fallen himself under the brute's weight, but stopped short when a dark rust female beat him to it. Mirabelle leaned up against Bass's right shoulder, helping to support the pale Azat's weight. Her words here harsh, but he could hear the care behind the threat. Besides, he didn't take the threat seriously, and he doubted Bass did. Another wolf appeared, as well, a slate blue male that Xae somewhat recalled seeing, but never actually meeting. His speech was... frankly, heartwarming, and it almost made Xae jealous that he wasn't able to say something so supportive. Though Xae had a way with words, he wasn't always to most social or talkative of creatures. But he did nod along with the larger male's words, agreeing wholeheartedly. He opened his mouth to add in his own voice, to verbally support his Azat, to promise his loyalty to the pale leader, no matter what. But two voices arose before his could.

First, the pale she-wolf that had been curled around Bass upon Xae's arrival. She had rounded on Mirabelle in an instant. Grey orbs blinked in surprise. He turned to Harmony to see what she would think of such a thing, and was surprised to find that the woman he was silently in love with had also turned to Mirabelle with a growling voice. Xae cocked his head, genuinely confused. Had he missed something? Did the two females catch a genuine threat from Mirabelle's words? Though he hadn't known her long, Xae was pretty accustomed to Mirabelle's brutal way in she spoke, and a part of him had come to enjoy it. And after all, had anyone else helped Bass? Even if all had begun to, it was Mirabelle that was at the Azat's side immediately, wasn't it? Obviously she cared about his well-being. In Xae's opinion, it was even clearer in her words. She wanted to make sure Bass didn't injure himself further. Looking between the two pale defensive females, Xae had to wonder. Were all she-wolves so... catty?

With a quiet sight, he trotted before the slate blue male, nodding his head. "That was an astounding speech, with incredibly true words that I am confident speak for all of Abaven's members. I am ashamed to say I could not have said it better myself. Thank you." With the male properly thanked, Xae turned to the females of the group. "Excuse me for saying so, but I do not believe Bjuni Mirabelle meant her threat to be literal, Lady Harmony, and uh... I apologize, I do not know your name." His eyes remained on the pale female that he didn't recognize(Wren) for a moment before turning to Harmony. "As it is, slightly harsher than necessary words aren't a priority. Getting Bass to his den is." His voice remained even, his face stoic. His eyes searched the eyes of the two pale females, almost daring them to argue that getting Bass safe and sound was not a number one priority.

The healer would arrive and bass would begin to awake again. She would look at her dear brother, still holding her tinge even when he reached out and gripped her as the healer did his work. She didn't know much about healing and simply had to believe one trained by harmony knew what they where doing. More wolves would appear and Motifs temper would begin to rise. They where crowding him, couldn't they see that? And Motif knew he didn't want these witnesses to his weakness. She would wait as they all spoke and began to biker amongst themselves, trying to help in their own way she was sure but it was too much for her temper. "enough!" Motif finally snapped, getting to her feet and keeping pace with the boy of her blood.

For bass's sake she kept a shred of delopmacy when otherwise she might have simply hit the roof and sent them all packing. "this is your king, he needs rest and quite and not to be crowded. I trust harmony will be in charge of huis healing and if that means she wants xae onto it that's her right, for the rest if you a few can help me get him to his den and then I want you all out of his hair. I will spent some time with him to ensure he is well and until the healers release him all pack matters can come to me. Without a healers say so he is not to be disturbed" she made sure that point was very very clear, and had drawn herself up to her full height to declare her speech as Abavens queen.

Of course she had realized the brilliant idea of travelling mass amounts of miles the season she went into her first heat. The trip had been miserable, she was unusually irritable and she was forever uncomfortable. Still. She couldn?t wait any longer to see her siblings. They?d been away for much too long and she missed them more than she could ever admit. She?d found a slight whiff of Destruction blood and her nose would guide her to the strange continent of Alacritis. Further letting her instincts drive her the lithe girl would catch a real scent trail, one that belonged to not one but three of her four siblings.
The pack border would do little to deter her from the presence of her litter mates, determination burned in her blue and pink gaze. Petite paws would hurry her forward until finally she would catch sight of her loved ones. Tension would hang in the air like a tangible curtain, dark chocolate ears would fall to her skull as her gaze drifted from one member to the next finally coming to linger directly on Bass?s form.
She would find Motif?s presence demanding and authoritative, like she?d never seen her before. What was really going on here? "What?s going on here?" Her soft voice would find Motif?s ear as she came to stand at her similarly patterned sister?s shoulder.

The charcoal female remained were she was since she wasn't sure what she could do to help, her honey shaded orbs scanned the area as she watched a few members aim to assist bass to the den however it only seemed to cause a bit of conflict. Lowering her ears upon her skull, a soft pitiful whimper vibrated in her vocal cords as her eyes shifted to linger upon bass as she silently wished she could remove his pain in some way but she wasn't skilled in the department.

The sound of a more commanding tone quickly caught her attention and she pulled her gaze away from bass hopping no one seen her lingering stare upon the male, listening to the command of the female she dipped her head in an understanding nod before she took a stride forwards. Moving passed bass and the small little crowed she carefully began walking towards the dens. As she walked she made it her business to remove as much obstacles such as fallen twigs or stones that would or could possibly cause bass more pain by him having to lift his limbs to step over them or that might cause him to fall once more.

As she walked at her slow pace she found herself idling humming to herself as she worked, now she wasn't sure if she was being helpful but she new she needed to do something occasionally she would stop and look over her shoulder to ensure that the male was able to walk through the path she was clearing and to ensure there was nothing else that was needed from her.

Much seemed to happen in such a short time, wolves flocking to him like lost sheep. He just wanted to duck away, he didn't want his whole damn pack to see him weak like this. That is why he went to stand up and walk away, although apparently that would not be possible. Mirabelle came from no where, leaning up against his unbruised shoulder and barking orders at him. Bass' lips pulled back in a warning, his ears falling flat against his head. He did not growl, but even though he was hurt he would not deal with being talked like that. He understood that Mira was trying to get through to him, but using a force that he knew no others would use. He refrained from talking though, because she was right. His jaw hurt very much, moving it was becoming less and less of an option. He was already upset with Mirabelle for off and vanishing on him though, which made him less inclined to want to deal with her problems shoving that dominance down. He bumped against her shoulder with a bit of force, but then leaned against the support that she offered. Walking was harder than he thought, but he just wanted to be strong for his members.

The slate blue man showed up next, his words carrying his gaze over to Quelt. He blinked slowly at the man, a small smile spreading on his lips at his kind words. He had been worried that the older man would hate him for not defending his mate, and yet he returned with kind words, seeming to rally the members around him. It took a bit of the weight off of his shoulders, but not enough. Misery was a hard thing to simply shake off, and Bass knew somewhere in his heart that this loss would be one that would take a bit to accept. Leaning forward, he touched his nose to Quelt's own nose. Although he was unable to dwell in the happiness much longer, because Wren stormed up looking like an angered cat, her multi-coloured fur on end. He blinked when she called Mirabelle a rat, not knowing that she had that in her.

Harmony would also step beside Wren, her anger matching the other female's. Bass was rather confused bu it, while he had taken a bit of anger to her words, he had not expected a reaction quite like this. Xae tried to calm them, telling them that getting Bass to his den was most important. He nodded his head, he just wanted to lay down and sleep. Motif then tossed her own words in the fray, using her powers as his Azgrat to control the situation. She told them to go to her with all pack matters, which took even more weight off of his weak shoulders. And it was then that he picked up her scent, and Bass truly thought that he was going crazy.

Turning his head towards the smell of his long lost sister, he saw that he wasn't crazy -- at least not that much. Rhythm made herself seen, making Bass' tail wag behind him. Pushing away from Mirabelle he took slow steps towards her, a goofy grin on his maw. "Where. Been?" He asked, his jaw screaming in pain as he uttered the two simple words. Stumbling slightly, he righted himself just enough to press his form into her chocolate one, pressing a delicate kiss on her shoulder. He was too wrapped up in her being there that he didn't notice Sable approach them, he was far too focused on embracing Rhythm.

Mirabelle wasn't surprised by Bass' reaction. Not at all. She returned the warning with a half-grin, although she did nod in acknowledgement to it. She understood. She also understood why Bass bumped her shoulder, and she nodded again. "Please don't do something... to get yourself hurt," she whispered, loud enough only for his ears to hear. She barely resisted putting the word foolish in there. "Including walking on your own. I don't... we don't want you getting any more hurt, please, Azat." This time her tone was much softer, non-threatening and pleading. And very, very genuine. Her words were reinforced by Quelt's; he seemed to speak her mind exactly.

Then her gaze flicked from her alpha and the concern that was in the depths of her eyes was quickly hidden by the cocky grin she flashed Wren. She resisted a really bad comment - one Bass would be extremely pissed at her for, but oh would it have been hilarious - and instead said something simple, calmly,a simple sentence that could be interpreted in a myriad of ways. "I don't make threats" She made promises. Her gaze flicked to Bass again, and she began to focus less on what people were saying and more on keeping Bass up. "Why, I believe I'm Mira, of course. Who else would I be?" she replied sweetly. "And Harmony, I think I have a stubborn alpha here and I'm determined to make sure he gets to his den safely and with no more injuries." She looked directly at the healer, her eyes meeting Harmony's if Harmony allowed it. She wasn't joking, not one bit. Despite her smart ass comments.

As she was distracted with talking, the sudden ease of pressure on her shoulder made her stumble and whirl around to see Bass walking. And talking. "Baaaass!" she whined, sighing. So much for him not being stupid. However. Mira tilted her head at the stranger. She looked familiar... oh, of course. She looked similar to Bass, Motif and Harmony. a sibling, perhaps? It made sense. Motif and the new wolf looked extremely similar, and the new wolf had the same eye and nose markings as the rest of the Destructions. The red wolf opened her mouth to answer Rhythm's question, before pausing and slowly letting it shut in a rare moment of reconsideration over what she was going to do. She'll just let Motif handle it. Oh, and the sister. Maybe they would get Bass to listen for once.

Mira would challenge back, her washed golden gaze seeking the mismatched gems of the healer, but she would not bother wasting her time on someone so stubborn in a time like this. Motif would step into the fray, loosening all the weight upon Bass' shoulders and taking full responsibility until Bass was strong again. Her hackles smoothed as she would approach Bass, standing at his left side, allowing a support. "Bass, please lean on someone, if you don't think I'm strong enough. You have to get to your den and rest for now. Me and Xae will take care of you and keep you in tip-top shape." 'If only if I had been at the fight before it ended and he came back... He could've been in so much better condition than now, having to struggle his way back home.' Next time, if anyone would call to challenge Bass in some way, Harmony would appear and observe the battle for any wounds she needed to heal [ rather, boo-boos she could call them. ] She would flash mismatched gems to Motif in a calm smile, thanking her for stepping into the issue, as she would watch Abaven's members spread out gently, to give him room. "I love you Bass... don't forget that; just as everyone else has told you. You'll always be strong in my eyes. Strength isn't about being the best wolf ever, but it's about courage and honor... which are both things you own." She would gently lick her brother's sore cheek, nuzzling his chest fur gently before looking ahead, waiting for him to lean upon her shoulder.

If Xae were the emotional type, he would have sighed in exasperation. At least Mirabelle's retorts weren't too rude. Harmony, as well, seemed to lower her fur as Motif came in and interrupted the bickering wolves. Xae nodded in understanding, skinny limbs carrying him backwards, further away from his Azat to allow him some space as his darker sibling demanded. Shortly after Motif's speech, another dark she-wolf made her appearance. Grey gaze rested on her in curiousity, questions instantly coming to the surface of his thoughts. The she-wolf had similar markings to the other Destruction siblings. In fact, she looked remarkably close in appearance to Motif, with several differences. The biggest, in Xae's mind, was the difference in their personalities. For as long as he'd known her - which, really, was only about half a season - she was quiet, and seemed easily angered, or at least easily irritated. The new she-wolf gave off a different air. But of course, Xae couldn't say for sure, considering he'd never met this female before in his life.

Bass clearly had, however. He immediately made his way over to her, speaking a couple of words, making Xae wince. Admittedly, a part of the russet male just wanted Bass to shut up and listen. But Bass wouldn't be Bass if he did that, now would he? And, even if Xae couldn't really say he loved Bass - the thought seemed... weird, even if his love for the Azat was purely platonic - he did respect him and look up to him. But really. He shouldn't have been talking. He sent a somewhat worried gaze to Harmony, but if she caught it, he didn't know, for she was soon right at Bass's side. Xae stepped closer to the Destruction wolves, clearing his throat. "Azat Bass, you should not speak. I believe you have a fractured jaw." He turned his gaze to Harmony, only a quick glance, before he was looking at Bass again. Another sound caught his ears, and the russet male turned to watch Sable, his charge, clearing a smooth path for the Azat. "The sooner we bring you to your den, Azat, the sooner you will heal." His voice was soft, gentle, but Xae turned to help lead the way back, also making sure the path was clear behind Sable. He only hoped that his leader actually listened and saved the catching up for when he was more rested.
