Gods curse all bugs, Lyon thought with a glare and a sigh. His ears were flicking constantly to keep the flies out of them, and he was forced to watch every step he took less he step on a bee of this or that sort. That such a large beast was so plagued by those so much smaller than he was amusing from a distance, but from his point of view he was a breath away from declaring war. At first this grove had been a good place to find small game, rodents keen on the young fruits were numerous in the underbrush, but as the heat of the day rose around him the rodents had found cover and the insects had come out in droves. He mumbled a curse and trudged on, unwilling to lope he was to some body of water less he trip over a tangle of roots and lad a paw in a hornet's nest (he'd skirted two already.) Summer could go bugger itself as far as he was concerned. And winter and spring too. The harvest was the only time of year he felt was worth experiencing. Fat creatures and cool temperatures, that was what he was built for. But autumn seemed so far away that he only could grow more frustrated. The brute trudged on, black mood radiating off him like a storm cloud.

There were always more pups, always more little ones in her home. Was she not good enough? Were her parents not content with her and Revenge? Clearly not, because there were more and more little ones that showed up. Nope. So she had left, wandering away from the little cave that she called her home. She just needed to get away, to do anything else than to be there and no longer be good enough. As she walked, she heard a few grumbles leaving a male who was walking ahead of her. Grinning, she skipped over to him, her small form not seeming to care about the bugs that to bothered this one. Maybe he could show her around, he was pretty looking! There was a lot of nice colours on him, it was very nice. So she walked up behind him, lifting her paw and trying to prod at his hind leg. "Hey, you're pretty." She said rather bluntly.

Mercy tried to poke at him again, trying to grab his attention. Even though she was still only a pup, her legs were already too long for her, her large paws speaking of how large she will grow to be. Huffing, the black marked girl looked the male over with her dazzling purple eyes. She wanted someone to pay attention to her and show her something interesting. She was tired of being second best.

Speech

Mercy likes to swear and bite, and she can be unpredictable. She's not always nice, and is quick to jump into a fight. Thread at your own risk.
Mercy has a visible scar from her shoulders down to the middle of her back, in a v like shape. Not all of her art shows this.

The prob nearly went unnoticed, as absorbed as Lyonovei was in his own misery. The second, however, did manage to sway him, along with the sudden appearance of a voice. With a sigh he cast a glance over his shoulder and found a small white wolflette eying him with something like fascination, or so it seemed. Her vivid eyes were bright with interest and she seemed very young. Perhaps too young to be wandering on her own. The sort of innate aggrivation he felt towards most did not extend to the young ones, but that did not mean he was comfortable around them. He had no mind for what should and should not be said around pups, or what sorts of things they might be capable of. It often left him feeling both frustrated and at a loss. "Thank you, I suppose," he said in a gruff but not unkind tone. "And what exactly are you doing out here?" He swished his tail, scattering a number of buzzers that lingered around his hind quarters, and flicked his ears against the ones that buzzed in his ears. As much as he wanted to be gone from this accursed place, he knew he ought to find where this pup had come from and return her to her guardians. Even in such a peaceful place, the world could be dangerous for the young ones, he knew that well enough.

The girl was two seasons away from being a year old, so perhaps she was a bit too young to be wandering around alone. But she wasn't alone! She had this brute, he would take care of her. She considered lying to him, but that wouldn't be very nice. "I don't want to be at home, can't I just come along with you? I will be good, I swear!" She woofed, her elongated tail wagging behind her. Anywhere was better than being at home with all those pups that kept getting dragged in, she was no longer number one in her parents eyes. White ears fell back against her skull, a soft whine leaving her mouth. "Please mister? I don't want to go back there, my parents keep bringing pups back! Apparently I'm not good enough..." She mumbled, her head hanging. Mercy raised her purple eyes, blinking up at him through her lashes.

OOC: Sorry, hunger and making sure my snake doesn't crawl into the couch are distracting me

The small creature's request was... aggravating. But not in a way he could bring himself to express to her. He didn't want to hurt the young fae's feelings, and gods above wasn't that a rare emotion for him? His toes curled, digging his claws into the earth so that he din not pull his lips back in displeasure. After venting, he let out a sigh. "Yeah," he said at last. "Sure kid. For a little bit." He turned his nose into the wind surreptitiously, trying to catch wind of the direction she'd come from when the time came to herd the little blighter home. He walked a bit more, pausing to sniff at old rabbit sign at the base of one tree or another. Honestly, he was hoping she might get bored. Younglings weren't supposed to get interested in hunting until they were older... right? "So," he began gruffly after the silence grew awkward, "Siblings, huh? How many." Personally, Lyonovei didn't have any full-blooded siblings, but the gods only knew how many bastards the King had sired. He probably had dozens, if not hundreds. That poor dead cur was a virile one, that much couldn't be denied. He probably shouldn't talk about that sort of stuff to this one though. He looked into her young, bright eyes. "What's your name, wanderer?"
