OOC: One young, hopelessly incapable and inexperienced Doctor seeking patient willing to be subjected to questionable remedies, potential poisoning and no chance of any real aid whatsoever.

Before him, cupped in a rain-worn dip in the ground and mashed into oblivion, lay the remains of water, several insects, various leaves and an unidentifiable sticky substance that had been pulled out from under a moist rock. Together, the crushed things/beings created a gooey, yellow/brown liquid whose lumpy surface glinted alarmingly in the sunlight. The boy, staring squinty-eyed at it, gave a solid nod to himself. It was perfect. "There," he stated importantly, "It's ready!" The creature being addressed was a small hare who had the misfortune of not only being injured by a predator, but being found and "rescued" by a child healer whose herbal knowledge was provided entirely by his imagination. The hare lay on its side panting several feet away and appeared, though Shtiya's voice had been plenty loud, to not have heard his confident exclamation.

After pausing to scratch at the mud on his face--a remedy applied to counter the bleeding damage done by the hare during transportation--Shtiya began hunting around for something to move the "medicine" in. He really didn't want to try picking the hare up again. For all his efforts (and he'd tried desperately to reason with her), the patient refused to listen to him when he said he was there to help and insisted on squirming and biting whenever he attempted to carry her. No, no, no, it would be much easier to bring the medicine to her instead of the other way around.

"Aha!" A leaf! That would work just fine! "Don't worry," he called over his shoulder, "I'll make you all better!" In seconds he was at the puddle of yuck and trying to find a way to scoop it up. It resisted his attempts at taming it; moving instead to quickly slide off the leaf while leaving questionable chunks behind. Shtiya's brow furrowed and he readjusted the leaf before carefully dipping a corner of it into the puddle. When enough was gathered it was shakily hoisted into the air where it proceeded to drip off each and every time it was tilted. Still, to his highly trained eye, it was enough.

Cross-eyed, Shtiya began to inch his way towards the hare all the while readjusting the tilt on the leaf to keep the liquid from spilling. Each step was painfully slow and deliberate, and required all of the attention the small pup was capable of giving. It wasn't until he was standing on the place the hare had been laying that he realized that his patient had fled. The leaf dropped from his mouth as he forgot, for the briefest of moments, what he was holding. "Hey! You-" The leaf landed on his paw sticky side down and drew his attention away. "Oops!" He shook his head, trying to keep track of what he was doing. He could get more medicine. What he couldn't get was another patient. "Wait! I haven't made you better yet!"

Frantically, the boy began to follow the scent trail and blood drops left by the ailing creature. It led him to a hole in the ground and for a few seconds Shtiya scratched at the hard earth around it before giving up. The patient was gone. His ears sagging, he silently admitted defeat. For several heartbeats he remained that way...until a new thought struck him. The hare had walked! That meant it was better, right? So he'd made it better after all!

OOC: How about a dutiful and patient brother? :D

The forest outside of the den felt a little less scary now. Miksa had soon acknowledged the fact he was not going to get lost so long as he stayed nearby the den that his small family stayed in, and so he always tended to remain close, never getting further than he knew he could get back to them easily. That boundary was slowly widening with each passing day, the boy's world becoming a little broader with every step he took through it, but despite the thrill that came with knowing he was seeing new places the comfort that came from home always kept him coming back. Eventually, maybe, he would become more familiar with the lands that surrounded his den, but he was in no rush about it.

His little white puppy form traveled almost aimlessly through this stretch of familiar wood, wondering curiously where it was that his brother had gotten off to. Shtiya always seemed so curious about things, so driven when he finally found something to occupy his mind, that Miksa feared his brother fixating on one thing and following it too far away from their den, somewhere that he could not find his way back. Of course, not wanting to irk his brother or be a nuisance with his worry, the yellow-eyed pup kept his thoughts to himself and only continued to wander about with them in the back of his mind.

To his good fortune, however, he ended up hearing the voice of the one he sought and followed it until he finally found his two-toned sibling half within some small den, digging away at the earth before he finally stood and seemed to give up with what he was doing. Miksa approached quietly from behind, his brow settling into a curious frown above his eyes. "What are you doing?" he asked in his quiet tone of voice, a mild touch of intrigue evident within his words. Had Shtiya found something?
