Having reached her full adult height recently, the lass was feeling a lot more cheery. Growing pains were not something she enjoyed in the least, and she was happy to be rid of them. Delicate limbs would carry her with brand new grace across the island she had laid claim to, for her family. She had yet to find any of them, but when she did, she would tell them she'd found them a good, proper home. It wasn't affected by the tropical storms plaguing the eastern half of Alacritia, and though the permafrost on the ground took a bit of getting used to. Her thinner pelt wasn't an advantage here, but she enjoyed the pleasantly cool island anyway. There was food here, and plenty of space for dens all over. With a sigh, the girl stood atop a high rise near the outskirts of the land mass, and looked out over the ocean. In the distance, the mainland was visible, and she briefly wondered if she should go and find her family. They'd all seemed to have disappeared, and she was quite sad about it. However, she understood perfectly that sometimes it couldn't be helped.
With a small sigh, she continued her patrol. It was really unnecessary, but she felt like it was the right thing to be doing. No pack was about to steal this home from her, and she was going to make sure of that. Had any packs ever been on an island? She couldn't think of any, but the patchwork girl didn't exactly know everything. Her acidic pools drank in the blue tinted landscape, feeling a strange sense of affection for her recently claimed territory. A rabbit bounded across her path, and her patrol was completely forgotten.
Tea cupped paws carried her at a galloping pace across the flat plain, and she chased the bunny. It didn't take long for her to catch up, with her lanky limbs stretching to their maximum length with each stride. Pouncing upon the creature, she quickly snapped it's spine. A painless death, no suffering intended for the fluffy creature. Picking it up in her delicate maw, the ebony lass plodded off in the direction of the knoll she'd been standing on earlier. She would eat, and then decide what to do. Folding her willowy frame beneath her, Ace settled in to eat her meal. She was getting hungry anyway, it was just past midday and she hadn't eaten since yesterday evening. It was a good day today, she decided. Sunshine broke through the thin mist that seemed to constantly hang over the ground, and she basked in the delicious heat while she ate. The only thing that could make this better was company.

Will you recognize me, When I'm lying on my back?
Something's gone inside me, And I can't get it back.
Oh, yea he was the man! Blunt claws and scraping white paws pulled the soon-to-be yearling onto the icy platform of a wondrous winter island. Aksel shoot out his coat. Shame he had to swim to get there though. The young male had been out the past month seeking his own fortune and getting to know himself with out his family hovering around. He was sure his father was probaby worried and probably his sisters too but the young male didn't care. It wasn't like he was gone that long and besides this was what boys were supposed to do right?

Aksel moved across the frost kissed island with a spring in his step and a swagger in his hips. Confidence shown in the way his elegant form moved. If he was completely honest with himself, it was good to be back! It was then that something caught the young male's attention. The familiar scent of one of his sisters. No way?

Aksel grinned and moved silently toward the source of the scent where he found his sister gnawing on a rabbit. She'd grown well and?. wait a minute. Sharp eyes glided over his sisters form as his sharp mind analyzed her build as one might an opponent they were about to face. NO FAIR?. was she TALLER than him? Aksel's mouth tugged into a little pout. That was so not cool?

A sudden grin spread across his maw as he ducked back behind the snow drift he'd been using as cover. Quietly, he turned and with a might kick from his back legs he kicked an apple-sized snowball right at his sister.

The sudden attack of the traitorous snow behind her was a complete shock, and the ebony babe let out a startled squeak. Onyx rear legs launched her forwards, but her lack of thinking ahead led to her catapulting herself straight into the frost covered ground in front of her. Her meal forgotten on the ground, the patchwork girl was directly face first in the dirt. Bounding to her feet, the girl spat out the frost bitten grass and earth. Whirling around, brow would furrow in indignant shock.
However, the figure standing before her was one she hadn't seen in a while now. She grinned, galloping forward with a dorky, extremely excited expression. Mismatched forelimbs would lift from the terra, and she attempted to wrap them around her brother's neck in a massive hug. "Aksel!" She yipped gleefully, double dipped banner wagging wildly at her rump. She snuggled her brother close, caring very little for what he wanted or not. This was what he got for disappearing for so long. "Where have you been? It's been forever!" She wailed dramatically, still smiling like a crazy wolf. Finally, she released her grip on her little brother, backtracking in the slightest so they weren't standing nose to nose.
She was taller than her brother now, but she hardly noticed it at the moment. All Ace knew was that Aksel was back, and now they could live together on the island, and go hunting for their family. Mismatched audits stood tall, and her tri toned banner arched happily over her petite haunches. Acidic pools noticed that her brother had grown, just as she had. He looked much more like a young man, and he was going to need to be getting some lady friends soon. She herself had absolutely no interest in relationships that were anything but platonic, but her brother would need someone to keep him company and give him all the love in the world. Aksel needed all the love in the world, that was definitely what it was. She would have to find him a nice girl, or boy. Shit. First off, she needed to figure out what Aksel was looking for. Undercover, sneaky detective work was in order from here on out.

It had been too long since she'd seen her siblings. For most of the summer, Hel had been scarce, keeping in the general vicinity of her family as well as she could but wandering far and wide. 'Home' was home only in the vaguest sense of the word - most of the time, Hel was a day's travel or more from her barely used densite. It was only when the frosty island had caught her attention during her wanderings that Hel found herself making her way towards it curiously. The swim certainly hadn't been pleasant for the girl, but she'd made it and despite the shivers that wracked her frame, she moved swiftly, letting her muscles generate their own warmth rather than buckling down somewhere until she warmed up. No need to wait, not when she could warm up faster by moving around.

Sheer luck brought the entwining scents of her sister and brother to her nose. Though Hel had seen little of Ace and Aksel, she had seen even less of Everest in the past months. She felt closer to these two than she did the other girl, and eagerly, Hel set off in search of her family. Tail wagging enthusiastically, Hel bounded forward, racing through the snow and frosty grounds until she could hear the voices of Ace and Aksel in the cool air.

Unlike Aksel, Hel didn't opt for an even remotely subtle approach. Delightedly, she raced through the snow, black tail wagging a mile a minute. "Ace! Aksel!" She yipped their names happily, skidding to a stop with a small spray of snow, tongue lolling happily from her maw as she stopped. She had missed them. They were the only wolves, save her father, that Hel truly trusted and loved and being without them had been more lonely than she'd realized until these exact moments when she was in their company again.

Score! Haha! Aksel bounded out from his hiding place with a grin on his face as his attack startled his sister and sent her careening into the ground. The mischievous boy let out a hearty laugh. "Gotcha Sis!" She whirled around a for a moment Aksel wondering if she was going to have a go at him but instead her indignation was replaced with a smile as she bounded over to him. <"Hey Ace!" he chirped happily, tail wagging as he leaned out to nuzzle into her. Her scent? man it had been forever since he'd been with his family! It almost made him wonder what the hell he was thinking wandering off like that. But all in all it was a great experience and there was that old saying, what was it? oh yes? absence makes the heart grow fonder.

"Man you've gotten tall! I can't believe you're taller than me that's so lame!" He let out a little chuckle at his misfortune. Aksel was all for making fun of others but that didn't mean he was incapable of laughing at himself. Man? he hoped that not ALL of his sisters were larger than him. To be the runt of the litter? Heck naw!

As if on cue another voice called out and he turned to see Helena. "Hel! Hey! It's good to see you!" He left Acadia's side and bounded over to Hel, aiming to give her a little lick on the cheek in greeting. "Wow, we've almost got the whole crew here. What are papa and Everest up to?"

Did you expect any differently?
He was following a familiar scent trail, stalking it as he'd done often enough though his prey had probably never noticed. Children weren't, after all, known for their observational skills - even his own. He'd let them go their own way and support themselves for a while as his own father had never done, but he couldn't resist checking up on the erstwhile kids fairly often. Well, maybe the wanderlust that had infected them was over, because they all seemed to be congregating on this one annoyingly chilly island. All except Everest, but she'd always been one to go her own way so that was hardly a surprise. Aksel brought him up and - with a toothy grin - Loki decided it was time to make himself known.

With his usual saucy grace the svelte black male rose out of his frosty shrubbery cover to saunter up to his three gathered children. "Trouble," he smirked in response to Aksel's question. "As always. And what are my little demon spawn up to, hm?"

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Before she could get anything out of her beloved, and only, brother, a familiar figure came bounding into view with a big doofy grin on her face. Delicate features alit with a delighted grin, the babe rounded next on her little sister, wrapping mismatched forelimbs about her ashen sister's neck and happily placing an affection, albeit slightly slobbery, kiss upon her forehead. "Hel!" She chimed with a voice full of mirth, simply finishing the sequence. Her own double dipped plume wagged to and fro gaily behind her. It had been a while since she'd seen Hel, and it was awesome to be seeing her now. Despite the second face full of snow, it was definitely much better now that Hel had arrived and joined them. Family made everything better.

Aksel's comment on her height coaxed a happy giggle from her, delighted that she was the tallest of the bunch as far as she knew. Of course, Loki was probably still bigger than her. No way she'd be able to get bigger than him, right? She stuck her tongue out at her brother in a teasing fashion, still as juvenile as ever. "It's only lame because you're short!" She announced in a singsong set of vocals, wriggling her brows at the smaller male and grinning the sliest of all grins. Troublemaker, troublemaker.
As it seemed, Helena was not to be the very last of the family to arrive. Their father would saunter up, graceful as her brother, if not more so. His inquiry goaded a small shrug and small laugh from the ebony child. "I found us a new home, if that counts as doing something." She replied to the query, triple toned banner sweeping jovially across her tall heels. Svelte form would in turn trot forward to greet her father, finding herself able to meet his gaze without having to tilt her head in any manner. Slender forelimbs would fall atop her father's shoulders, and she embraced him just as she had the rest of her family. "Looks like you're not the tallest one here anymore, da!" She teased him exuberantly, burying her face in the thick fur of his ruff. She had missed her father, without a doubt, as she had missed the rest of her family. However, it wasn't like she'd been lost without them. Releasing her father from her grip, the girl shuffled backwards and cast a quizzical gaze upon her family. Yes, things were definitely looking up. She needed to see their faces, it was long overdue.
Banner would rise to wag happily at her rump, as she shifted from paw to paw. She was anxious to get moving, and show her family the home she had found for them. "I thought it would be cool if we all lived here, this place is called Frost Island, and if that isn't the coolest thing ever, I don't know what is." She announced, grinning happily as she did a little dance.

Aksel felt his heart leap as he turned around to see his father, grinning with his characteristic smirk. Tail set to wagging as he bounded over to Loki. "Dad! It's great to see ya! You keeping my uncles in like while I've been away." He winked playfully at the older male. It was good to be back in some male company, he adored his sisters but some times he got tired of swimming in a sea of estrogen. Of course after begin on his own for so long there were simply no words to describe how happy he was to simply be in the company of his family once again.

Aksel shrugged. "Oh you know?. exploring new lands, getting into mischief? checking out the ladies. Guy stuff." The boy stuck his tongue out at Acadia as she brought up her height once more. "Hey, now! Height isn't everything!" A wicked grin spread across his maw. "If you got the height then we got the brains!"
