Give a little time to me

His golden marked ears flicked here and there, listening to the many songs that crowded the air around him. He couldn't remember any other place where there were so many birds in one place. It was loud, but at the same time the noise was beautiful. He tried humming along with one of the nearby songbirds, but it didn't sound nearly as pretty so he gave it up, instead focusing on crossing through this marsh. His blue-hued paws carried him carefully around the deepest of the water, sticking to the mostly solid land, occasionally having to walk through the water to get to the island he saw in the middle of it all. Finally he reached it, shaking off each of his gold striped legs before walking closer to the massive willow tree that stood tall and proud. He weaved in among its long branches till he reached the trunk and settled onto his stomach, his tail curling around his haunches. From here the birdsong seemed muffled, like it was a whole different world. He rested his head on his paws, letting his eye lids slide down over his vivid green gaze. It was such a nice day, not a care in the world. It was easy for him to drift toward sleep, just on the edge of a afternoon nap. Soft splashing of water caught his attention though and it pulled him back toward wakefulness, his sleepy gaze opening halfway, curious to see if whoever it was would intrude on his little hideaway.

Hiding was what Soren did best, he had dedicated so many months of his early life to shutting himself away from the outside world; it seemed unlikely he would learn to open up any time soon. Still there had been some progress, meeting his younger siblings had helped to give him a connection to the real world. The girl, Hani? well she had offered a different sort of thread, something he was both eager and scared to chase after. Still he had been unable to find her for some time now...
The monochromatic boy moved with easy grace through the marsh, ears twitching with each bird call. Long legs propelled him through the estuary, paws kicking up slight water as he made his way towards a small outcropping of land he could see. The scent of another hit him as he splashed onto land. Moving with caution he came into the view of a giant willow. Hazels landed upon the form of a golden boy, close to his own age.

Eon blinked the sleep out of this green gaze as he spotted a gray and white form through the willow branches. His ears perking up curiously. Their eyes met and for a moment they seemed to be at a silent standoff. He expected the other male to say something, but when he didn't Eon unfurled his lengthy form and pulled himself into a sitting position on his haunches, giving a little shake to get a few trapped leaves out of his blue-hued, gold marked fur. "Um... Hello," he finally said to break the awkward silence, a small, friendly smile touching his muzzle. He hadn't really expected anyone else to be out here, but he couldn't say he was displeased.
"I'm Eon," he added. "You can come into the shade too, ya know. It's not like I own the tree." A soft, rumbling chuckle echoing in his large chest. He didn't sense any kind of hostility right away from this stranger and to be completely honest he was kind of happy to have the company. With his siblings always off doing their own thing and their mother busy with her new pack and soon to be born pups it was easy for him to get lonely.

Soren watched as brilliant greens honed in on him, and the golden boy unfolded himself giving Soren a glimpse at just how much taller the yearling was. He remained silent for a while, not quite sure what to say. Finally the golden stranger spoke and Soren inclined his head. "Hi?" He replied in kind, sounding just as bit as hesitant as the boy. Despite the feeling of unease Soren found growing inside him he returned the yearling's smile though it was a little less friendly.
"Soren." He replied, finally moving to join the boy upon the island. He seated himself a little ways away from Niketas, watching him with curiosity, though not speaking. Not quite sure what to say.
