It had been early morning when she had left the den that her and Scorpion called home. The children were fine, but she was not. Many thoughts were swirling in her mind as she aimlessly walked, a soft rain causing her white coat to become slightly damp. The landscape around her was bathed in fog, the low hanging cloud pressing against her. Othello's elongated tail dragged behind her, her purple eyes wary as she walked on. She had no idea where Mercy and Revenge were, her poor babies were only a season away from being a year old and yet... they were no where to be found. Her heart broke for them, and she longed to pull her family back together. But the one wolf that she thought could change everything was also pulling at her heartstrings. The dame wasn't daft, she knew that he was sleeping around as often as he wanted. She loved him... why was it so hard for him to just be with her? She knew that she deserved better, and it made her heart ache for Crucifix. She had heard that he found someone else though, and that they had pups on the way. Sighing softly, she knew that that chapter had long been done. But there was just something missing... that feeling of unrequited love. What had she done to be tossed through this again and again? This season made her 6 years old, her children were missing and her lover was sleeping around. Well wasn't her life just a piece of cake...

Othello paused, looking around to see where she had wandered off to. A large lake expanded before her, although the fog clouded most of her vision. Squinting she carefully walked towards the lake, not stopping until the cold waters lapped at her paws. A chill was sent down her spine, but she didn't care. It was better feeling something than being stuck in this depressed state. She honestly didn't know what to do anymore, and had half the mind to find her babies and just take off. Letting out another sigh she sat her rump at the waters edge, knowing this would probably make her catch a cold. She knew that she couldn't just walk away from Scorpion, but oh how she wished it could be that simple. Everything was getting too complicated, and it wasn't like Othello was a spring chicken. She was starting to feel her age, although it wasn't effecting her body just yet it sure was waring on her mind. Eyes looked upwards, it was about noon now and the fog was beginning to burn off. Those vibrate purple eyes slid shut, the tip of her tail dragging into the waters. Why couldn't life just be simple? What had she done to deserve this sad story?

He?d feel her stir beside him as wakefulness took her and drew her from the den that they shared. He was very much aware that her season had returned, they?d been together for almost a year now and he still felt as caught up in her as the day they?d met. Curious what she was doing the tall brute would push himself from the den?s floor and follow her out into the dreary weather. She?d seemed so down recently, ever since she?d learned of his promiscuous tendencies. He was worried for her, and though he?d not pledged her his body she had a very tight grasp on his withered heart. As well he knew the missing children were hurting her heart, and he wondered if there would ever be anything he could do to bring her spirits up. Would the position of queen brighten her dark mood?
He?d follow behind her and bright yellow eyes would watch as she slowed and shivered before a lake. He?d sigh heavily as he came up behind her, his nose would gently touch her shoulders, the cold of her skin alarming him. He didn?t know how she would react to his touch, but he knew he wanted to comfort her. To do anything to see her smile again. He?d surround her, his chest sliding up over her shoulders his nose nuzzling between her ears softly. ?Othello, what are you doing?? he?d whisper into her pale ears.

Quote:The soft touch started her, causing her form to jump forward and almost launching her into the lake. Hackles bristled until his scent surrounded him, soon enough his body following in suit. He wrapped around her, bringing warmth to her cold body. For a long while she didn't answer him, just kept looking up as his head settled between her ears. The weight of his skull forced her to bring her own head to a level position, the strain too much on her tired neck. "Thinkin'" She said finally, her voice a mere whisper. Her heat made her melt into his touch, and she scoffed at her body for betraying her mind. She wasn't in the mood for that, and wondered if Scorpion would even be able to hold himself back. She snorted at the thought, a sigh bringing the both of them up and down. Othello honestly didn't know what to say to him, nor did she know what to confess. So many thoughts clouded her mind and her soul, she had been walking around with a storm cloud above her head for months now. She just couldn't shake it this time, not even her bi-polarness helping her change her heart. She was more than just down in the dumps, her heart seemed heavier than normal. She was not about to tell Scorpion the thoughts that had crossed her mind a few times -- suicide was nothing new to the dame. She had contemplated it before, but now she had more to live for, and more to lose.

Another sigh left her body, seeming to be the only noise that she was able to make. Still no words were able to be found, she was rather speechless. Her heart was hammering in her chest, her toes nearly frozen at this point. She didn't know what to do, she felt so lost and so utterly alone. Even with Scorpion pressed against her back -- which was doing nothing to calm her heat-driven emotions -- she still felt as if she were the only soul on the planet. Her children had left, her only babies that had come from her own womb. They were gone, missing. "I want our babies back." She whispered suddenly, lower lip trembling as tears welled in her purple eyes. She wanted to hold Mercy and Revenge and tell them that everything was right in the world. She wanted to teach them how to hunt and show them to their family, but not even a trace of them remained. A single sob wracked her body, head now hanging as she fought to hold back the tears. It didn't last long, and soon her body was shaking at the force of them. Her cries echoed out along the span of the lake, the whole front of her body shaking until it could no longer support her. Slipping, her body fell to the earth, the lake claiming her limbs and a touch of her chest. The cold did nothing to shock her out of this state, salty tears mingling with the fresh water.

She?d jump away, startled at his touch, but that would not cause him to refrain from taking her into his strong grasp. He wouldn?t hear her words for a long while, the two of them would sit silently and watch out across the lake. The feeling of her beneath him was enough to drive him crazy, but he?d lived with her long enough to know her moods. Still, it had been a very long time since he?d found the pleasantness of her touch, the smell of her perfume would tempt him fiercely. He would not force himself on her though, he had more than enough respect for her to keep himself contained. She would sigh, the only word she?d given him very much obvious in her downtrodden appearance. He did not enjoy seeing his Othello like this.
He?d continue to nuzzle her softly, keeping his animalistic urges at bay. The simple caress would be solely for comfort, should she wish a more intimate encounter he would comply, but for now he just wished to be there with her. To enjoy her presence and appreciate all that she was.
More words would follow her sighs, the thoughts of their children very much in his own thoughts. They?d once held so many children under their care, now he knew not where they were. He would join her sigh, knowing the feeling of loss. He missed them too. He would not expect the reaction though, she would sob, the emotions soon becoming uncontrollable and she would slip into the water carelessly. He?d lower himself next to her, nuzzling her cheek, physically trying to support her as his deep voice would break through her sadness, "Shhh, they?ll be back." even if i have to fight for them, "Don?t cry my dearest," he?d whisper into her ear with a gentle care only Othello would ever see. "Everything will be alright."
