Night had settled. Paws pressed into the sand, the soft chattering of crabs clicking mingled with the gentle sounds of waves. The moon was full, lighting the entire secluded beach in subtle rays of gray light. Her pelt was illuminated, turning silver rather than its usual gray, her eyes did the same, silver mixed with a hint of purple. The impending invasion of the northern wolves had brought her closer to the members of her tribe. She was spending time with Shai, finding that Skah and his dick-ish behavior was common ground for them. She was steadily be friendly the Oracle, finding the woman rather fun to hang out with, especially when Skah was away. A smirk would lift her features as she thought back to the little spar they had engaged in. She had taught the woman a thing or two, and managed to get away without Skah being any wiser. But tonight, she wanted to be alone.

The chilly ocean air tugged at her pelt, the smell of salty was heavy in the air. She would stop at one of the tide pools, her gaze downcast as she peered at her reflection. A sigh rolled off her tongue. Beneath the surface, a whole other life thrived, completely unaware of the danger that was about to invade this continent. Chances were, they would never be any wiser, never be threatened. But her life was entirely different. Slender legs would fold, lowering her to the cool stand, forepaws dipping into the warm waters of the pool, sending the tiny fish scattering for covering. Sand clung to her fur as her weight sank into the soft substance. Her skull would lower to her paws, her breath causing ripples across the surface.

Her eyes would close, letting the sounds of crabs and waves lull her into a false sense of peace. Her body would relax, tension falling away as she allowed her mind to run free. Questions would form as she silently spoke to her Goddess, looking for direction, for anything, that could keep her tribe safe. It wasn't her job, nor her place, but she was part of this family, she would protect it with her dying breath if needed. Her breathing steadied, sides rising and falling with each inhale and exhale. She took this time to think, to ask, to pray.

Night time? Usually he enjoyed this time of the day but tonight the full moon was out and there was really no place to hide. This was his second sunset, there was one more day before he would have to return to Ojiṣẹ and to his duties and thus far he had found no sign of the northerners. Massive paws would pull him towards the coast, head lowered and eyes hooded. He felt relaxed, tension slowly leaving his shoulders as he moved through the forestry in silence. He had picked up his fabrics before leaving the pack camp, and setting off. He felt like he had covered half the continent in these two days and his paws were feeling quite sore. He wanted to relax at the beach? But it seemed he was not the only one who had had the idea to relax at the beach. A familiar grey form lay on the edge of one of the pools, a form that he felt a twang of something about. For a moment he would stand in the distance, watching her as she watched the pool, or slept, or whatever it was she was doing with her head on her paws. Well... Massive shoulders would lift and fall, attempting to toss off old feelings as he walked forward. He didn't hid his approach, didn't try to sneak up on her. Instead he would simply move languidly towards her and come to halt at her side. "Mind some company?" His voice was a low rumble, much less hostile then the last time they met. There was something more in his voice this time, a tilt to his lips as they lifted in a lazy smirk.

The muted sound of footsteps would shake her from her thoughts. Ears would twitch, tipping the intruders direction. Slowly her gaze would follow, few ever visited this place, which is why she came here. However, the last wolf she expected to see what Skah. Immediately walls of defenses would go up, as she prepared for his hostility once more. Yet there was something different about his movements. He appeared relaxed, and when he stopped beside her, his deeps tones lacked any hostility, if anything they could be considered warm. Her head tipped back so that she could meet his gaze, her face carefully cleared of anything. Immediately she would take note of the smirk that lifted the corners of his mouth. A brow would lift.

"Depends." She would drawl, words silky smooth as always, though touched with a hint of something else. She didn't move to make room for him beside her, instead she peered up at him through lashes in a silent challenge. She would have stipulations if he was stay. Her heart would skip a beat before kicking into overdrive. There was so much uncertainty that surrounded him, she wasn't sure what to make of it. His lack of hostility, the subtle smirk that toyed with his lips, then there was his proximity. The last time they had been this close, they had been only kids. But things were different know. His musky cologne swirled around her, though it mingled faintly with the unknown north. She didn't break his gaze as audits tipped forward, awaiting the next rumble of his voice.

He could watch the tension build in her shoulders, along her spine as he approached. But it seemed as soon as it came it would go as if chased away by the sound of his voice and the new stature he carried. He had noticed the lightness he had been feeling lately. He had noticed the change he had felt since taking a vacation, since speaking with his brother and beginning to patch the bridge that had once bound them together. He felt? Better. Not great but better. She would allow words to flow from her own lips and he would nod as she rolled over slightly and gave him some room to join her. He would study her a moment longer before haunches would fold and he would allow massive forepaws to elide forward until he was balanced on his elbows. He still kept a comfortable distance between them, toes dipping into the cool water as aqua gaze drifted out over the tide pools and then to the shoreline beyond. "On??" he would prompt, tipping his head and raising a brow as he waited for her to list her conditions, if she had them. His gaze would return back to her a moment later. His smirk had faded, a bit more serious now as he studied her. Had it really been a year since he had spent any amount of time with her? Had she seen his brother? His younger siblings? How was her family even? Funny how they had grown up together and yet he knew so little about her. What a crappy friend he was...

It appeared he was staying whether or not she wanted him to. He would lower himself onto his elbows, his own massive paws dipping into the waters beside hers. His voice would rumble, wanting her to continue, to explain her conditions. His gaze was on the shoreline, staring out at the sea before returning to her. His smirk had vanished, his expression falling back into its usual seriousness. "Your mood." So she didn't have a mile long list of conditions for him to stay, but it was clear that he wouldn't be leaving. But if he wanted company, then he'd need to at least pretend like it. She made herself comfortable, adjusting to the sudden warmh of his proximity that surrounded her. Even laying down she still had to look up to meet his gaze. Lavender clashed with Aqua as she waited for him to agree or not. She still didn't know what to make of his change in demeanor. It had been so long since she had seen so relaxed and at ease with everything. Her thoughts churned restlessly with questions but she kept them to herself. Her gaze would leave his after a moment in favor of the tidepool once more. His paws disturbed the surface and again sent the life below fleeing for cover. Idly she wondered if the goddess was providing her another chance to make amends and repair old relationships just she had done with Shai. Only question was would Skah be so willing as his brother?

He was quiet as he lay beside her, looking out at the ocean as it lapped at the shoreline before him. He only looked back to her when she would speak, outlining a simple condition for him to stay and keep her company. Brow would quirk and he would tip his head as a slightly smile tugged at the edge of his lips. He understood her reasoning, their last encounter hand't exactly been fun for either of them. He badly wanted to make it better, he wasn't sure et if they would ever be as close as they were when they were younger but it might be nice to have someone to talk to and hand out with. A soft chuckle would slip up his throat as his smile grew for a moment before it would slip away again. "What mood do I need to be in to partake in your company?" He asked, brow quirking curiously as he moved to lean away from her a bit as he eyed her curiously. Would she ask him to leave or was his mood 'suitable' for her company. He didn't really know what she was looking for from him, he was trying to find a happy medium between the old him and the new him. Would it be good enough?

Her condition had earned her a lifted brow and a small smile. She almost died of shock when he actually chuckled. He would request to know exactly what mood he needed to be in to remain in her company. She would smile, her own laughter threatening to slip past her lips. "You can just like this." She liked this side of him, it reminded her of their childhood and the days they had spent together so carefree and happy. But now days, a huge wedge had opened up between them that was filled with absolutely nothing. Perhaps with time that would all change and things would go back to almost normal. Or maybe they could simply start fresh, relearn each others likes and dislikes, their habits, and everything that friends tend to know about each other. Her gaze would abandoned the tide pools in fave of his, lavender colliding with aqua. Would things ever be mended between them? She tried to keep the questions out of her eyes as she peered up at him, waiting for answers.
