Silently Chord had slipped back out of Threar his heart now somehow even heavier than it had been prior to meeting with his grandparents. He hadn't thought it would be a good moment by any means though neither had he ever been able to imagine the pain his news would bring to Dutiron or how awful he would feel for having shared it. His head hung low as he travelled a part of him wished to return to Abaven, he did really want to spend some time with his siblings for a while though he wasn't sure he was able to head back just yet. He'd avoided telling them the bad news initially though he certainly had to share it now and he wasn't sure he was ready to spread more sadness through the lands just yet.
Somehow he would wake his senses from his guilty emotions for long enough to pay attention to his surroundings and realise that along with his own scent trail from the journey here there was another relatively fresh scent following it. Rhythm was here? Green eyes would look around him now, of course there was no immediate sighting of the girl, she wasn't at his side though she was close she was in Threar somewhere. He would turn now, heading back to the borders once more. Why he sought her out so much he wasn't entirely sure, she was allowed to visit Threar as well after all.
Dark paws would carry her from her aunt?s lands, she?d enjoyed the impromptu visit and was glad she?d followed Chord, though she had to say that she?d never actually found him. She knew he?d eventually make his way back to Abaven, she?d just have to be patient. Her pace was rather slow as she meandered back to her brother?s pack, intending on laying down with Motif and sleeping the rest of the day away, but as she walked she?d find that a fresh layer of ?essence of Chord? had been put down not so long ago. Curious to see if he?d come back this way already she?d quicken her pace.
Had she not been paying attention to where she was headed the quick footed girl might have run headlong into her brother. But bright eyes would find him heading her direction, using ehr momentum to embrace him rather than crash into him, she?d slow only a bit at her approach. Though she?d said help to him once before now she still felt the longing for her sibling. "Hey, Chord." She?d say as she buried her features into his neck.
There would be no sign of Rhythm and then suddenly that would change, the dark girl suddenly appearing running towards him. Chord quickly halted in an attempt to avoid a collision though Rhythm continued forwards all the same, fortunately slowing enough that only an affectionate embrace would be given rather than running full speed into him. He would nuzzle the girl in return as she greeted him forcing a smile upon his face.
"Hey" He'd respond, stepping back now to look at her, still confused as to why she had been in Threar in the first place. It hadn't occurred to him that she might have followed given the fact that none of his siblings had ever ventured out after him before. "What are you doing here?" He questioned choosing not to make a guess but simply get the answer out of her as quickly as he could, perhaps in an attempt to steer any talk away from his own mood.
She?d rush to his side like she hadn?t seen him in years, with Motif?s pregnancy she felt herself being more affectionate than she?d ever been before. Not that she didn?t enjoy the close comfort of her sibling?s embrace. All too soon he?d step back and offer a similar greeting, continuing to ask her why it was she found herself here of all places. For so long they?d bee apart she hadn?t gotten back into the ease of reading her litter mate, she wouldn?t see the underlying emotions that bothered him. She wouldn?t suspected anything and would answer his question easily. "Following you," she?d confess easily, having no regret within her words, "You?d only just gotten back to Abaven and I wasn?t ready to be without you yet." Another confession, she just wanted time with Chord.
Somehow it worked, Rhythm continued with the conversation easily nothing suspected wrong with the boy. And why would there be, this disappearing and reappearing at random times was perfectly normal for him his family had been forced to grow accustomed to this strange behaviour that the adventurous young male had developed, tearing him away from them at lengths of a time. No it was the next comment that would perhaps be a real clue into the possibility of there being anything that troubled him, this wasn't normal for him.
"Lucky for you I'm heading back there then." He responded, a small smile somehow making its way onto his features despite how awful he still felt inside. Behind those borders his grandfather was a crushed wreck of the man he normally was and Chord was part of the cause of this. Surely he could have refrained from going back to Ahlon to show Envoi, Sonnet and Limerick to his mother. It may not have been the intention to begin with but somehow the spontaneous idea had popped into his head. He wanted to go back to being oblivious, more importantly he wanted the same for his grandfather.
There was only a minimal pause before he added something else; "I've got to at least wait to meet these new little Destructions that'll be wandering around soon, haven't I?" Whether tactfully added as an excuse to go against what seemed to be his nature or simply mentioned by luck. Either way the reasoning flowed smoothly and honestly from his lips, he wanted the time with his siblings as well of course.
"Shall we head back then? If you missed me that much they must be rather lost back at Abaven without me." And somehow he managed to hide behind his usual jovial behaviour. How, he had no idea at all.
