The heavens broke apart with a booming clap of thunder, and lightening seemed to set the world on fire. A winter storm, she had never seen such a thing. Golden eyes were set aflame as bolts of lightening shattered the sky, and she couldn't but feel so absolutely breath less. The way the lights shone upon the ocean, the white snows and the black black sand, it was like she was surrounded by the lightening. She lived within these lights, it was like a heaven, something that had no word. With a deep sigh she stepped forward, onto the deep black sand and breathed in. She seemed to warm with each breath, like she was breathing in the lights, breathing in the spirits of the world. It was an odd phenomenon, the way the heavens broke above, and shattered like crystals in streams of light around her. She had never felt so alive, so full, so complete as she did amongst the lights. This place, this Alacritis, she had never seen something quite so beautiful. Faye was a gyspsy, she moved from place to place, and she saw so much, but nothing compared to this place. "Spiritus enim lumina" She breathed lightly, her face suddenly lighting up as lightning crashed across the shattered sky. It was dark, deep light night, all except for the bright lights against the sky. It was almost hard to watch, and yet she continued to stare, continued to watch the spirits streak across the shattered heavens. She moved slowly towards the waters edge, not heading her safety as she tried to get closer, closer to the stunning lights, and feel more in the middle of it all.

Slinking along the coastline, the brute felt like a fugitive. Above him thunder pounded on the clouds, its anger nearly palatable. He felt each peal in his chest. Oh, how he hated storms. The lightning strike had done something to him. Valentine felt storms as they brewed. They set his teeth on edge and made his fur stand on end. He was filled with unease long before they began and the feeling only left him after the storm was long gone.

A sudden boom sent the titan skittering for cover. He found it beneath a fallen tree and there he sat until a tiny figure skittered by. She made for the water (was she crazy?) and the brute simply stared. She had to crazy. He had to ask. “Are you crazy? Do you know what lightning does to water?”

NOTE: Valentine has a female striped skunk companion named Lefty. Unless stated otherwise assume she's present.
