THE CALM BEFORE THE STORM

GONA GIVE THEM HELL

Dark, heavy clouds filled the skies as far as the eye could see, leaving little of the usual blue exposed. They had been growing darker all day, and the wind was very quickly picking up, reaching an unsettling power. Nature threatened to unleash a storm, and from the looks of it, it was sure to be a strong one, full of torrential rain and unrelenting gusts. The growth on Amron's Castle was jostled violently by the strong blowing of the coming tempest, some being torn from their hold, and loose stones shook slightly. Their stability had faded, time taking its toll as it showed from the fallen stones and the crumbled and worn structure.

High up at the top of a mostly crumbled tower, stones groaning in protest beneath his haunches at the strain nature was putting them through, Arcus sat calmly. He could be seen from any angle, the walls of the tower having fully fallen, leaving the top fully exposed. Light blue orbs were fixed to the sky, watching peacefully as the clouds drifted in the powerful winds. The day had started so quietly, with a gentle breeze and little overcast. So different had the morning been from the current conditions. It amused the wolf how easily it all could change. One moment it could all be so very serene, and the next full of chaos.

Arcus had known the storm was coming, had seen and recognized the early signs. It did not bother him at all, merely led him to the building he now sat atop. On his way up, as he had carefully picked his way along so as to avoid the dangerous areas, he noticed a few exposed passages. Perhaps, once the storm was in full effect, he would venture down into those areas to explore. While the castle was weak, it was much safer inside than out in the heavy rain, and likely lightning, that was well on it's way. Exploring the old human place should prove to be very entertaining, as well.
