Amarant would stand outside his den, he had dug his own so that Colten and his family could actually live like a family. He didn't know what love was or how that even worked... Mom didn't have a boyfriend or anything so it was only ever her, Amarant, and Colten in the den. That was until Colten went on an adventure somewhere else.

They had their dens beside each other only because Amarant was secretly being cautious that his brother wouldn't up and leave him again. He would never admit that but it's how it was. He and his brother again weren't on too good of terms since their leave of Arcanum but really if anyone were leaving, it probably would have been Amarant.

This morning he just st right in the mouth of his own den, listening to the brings waking from spring and just trying to be his normal self and find the good in everything. The most important thing to his was family, and he was with his family.

The boy moved from the den to the outside world, a mighty sigh leaving his tiny body. Another boring day, great. Sea green eyes peeked around as he just, well... looked. There wasn't much to do around here anyways, just sit and stare at nothing. Mom and Dad tried to talk to him, but he never really wanted to do anything at all. Looking at things was... fun? Right? Shrugging his small shoulders he laid down to the left of his own den. He knew that Amarant was there, he could smell him beside him but didn't even bother to look over. His mother said that he was his uncle, or 'Uncle Ammy' as she so fondly called him. Pah. That was so childish, and he wasn't a child! ... Kay well maybe he was. But he was no usual child. Oh no. He was cold, distant, and hadn't played a day in his life. Was he depressed? Not really, he just didn't care. Cohen cared about little at all. It drove his poor father mad and broke his mothers heart. But Ekko was old, it would seem that she was often complaining about a broken heart. He shrugged his shoulders again, flopping to his belly and resting his head on his white tipped legs. If 'Uncle Ammy' wanted to come and talk he would have to do it himself...

Amarant would look over to the the sound of the puppy plopping down outside his den. His head would tilt and he would remain silent a moment before turning to look back out to the trees and listening to the birds again. It would seem like it lasted forever as the two just... chilled out and spoke nothing. But eventually Amarant would stand up to walk closer to the boy. He knew that Cohen was very quiet and was a pretty cold creature, but Ammy would always try his best to make someone have fun. How could someone be incapable of having fun? Especially someone so close to Ammy's age?

"Getting tired of the den?"

Amarant and his brother were awfully free when it came to the den. Maia was cautious when they were just infants but she saw no problem in them going out on their own when they were young. Staying in a den all day must be boring as hell and ammy wouldn't hesitate to take Cohen anywhere he wanted to. He himself wasn't cautious about his own well being so fun was basically his job.

Maybe Ekko and Colten didn't really want him to take his tiny nephew out on a run... But Amarant was oblivious to what was dangerous.

The silence was nice. It wasn't often that he was able to just sit here and not have the adult bug him with never ending questions, battering him about not being normal and having to have fun like other kids. Fun? What the hell was fun anyways! He was only a season old for goodness sakes and what did he have to show for it? Nothing. His parents hadn't told him about Arcanum or what happened there, nor did it really ever cross his young mind that they once belonged somewhere. Colten didn't often tell him stories, just got annoyed with how bothersome Cohen could be. So he didn't stick around them, that's all. Why be around people that don't care about you? But for the black and white spotting man... well he didn't know too much about Amarant, other that he was Uncle Ammy and he liked to play. Good for him, cause Cohen didn't. His ears flickered and he sighed when he heard the man stir, knowing that he was coming over. Crap... well hopefully he didn't ta-- Dammit he did. A question was tossed at him, and slowly the boy turned his stony face towards him. "I'm not in the den long enough to get tired of it." He said bluntly, giving another shrug of his shoulders. He really acted like an angst teen more than a pup.

Cohen turned his face back to the horizon, eyes blinking slowly as he looked at nothing at all. There was so much out there, but he didn't really care to go anywhere. Here was good, cause it was right here and required no moving at all. It wasn't that Cohen was lazy... he just lacked motivation. Probably had about zero motivation to give. Short tail thumped on the earth as he just laid there, not even paying attention to the adult beside him.

Amarant pulled his head back as Cohen looked like stone. So after the boy turned back to the horizon, still just doing nothing Amarant would look in that direction in silence and tilt his head. He squinted his eyes trying to see the joy in staring out through the trees. But there was zero satisfaction as there was zero motivation for the boy. He would then turn back to Cohen and look at him for a while. He was just chilling and breathing.

And then Amarant picked up his paw and slowly moved it over to the child before gently, but quickley poking him with it. What was the harm if he got angry... Chewed his leg off or something? HAVE FUN DAMMIT.

He just kept staring out at nothing, even though he could feel the spotted man's gaze on him. It made him wiggle slightly, a tad uncomfortable that he was just looking at him. Wasn't there somewhere else that he could look? Gosh... Huffing, he was about to turn his head to tell him if he was counting every strand of hair on his coat, but a paw darted towards him and jammed against him. Cohen bristled, his lips curling back as he glared at the older man. "What the hell was that for?" he asked with a growl, standing up and walking over to him with his teeth bared. He didn't really liked to be touched, it creeped him out. Lifting up his own front paw he attempted to jab it towards Amarant, aiming for his left flank right on top of his ribs. "How do you like being poked?"
