The pack would of course all discover the news of her pregnancy in time, things weren't showing yet though they soon would be. She and Frith needed to talk to their other three children first though, explain things to them and answer any questions that they possibly had. Dhiren she recalled had taken the news of new siblings particularly badly when Song had fallen pregnant with her second litter and of course there had been a whole list of problems that the children all found wrong by the time she was pregnant for the third time.

All Novella could do was hope that they were understanding, took the news well and that if they needed comforting in any form she or Frith would be able to give it to them. There was no time like the present though and so the white woman wouldn't venture far from her den as she let out a call for the children to join them. In silence she would sit and wait, leaning lightly into Frith, finding herself both excited to share the news and anxious, uncertain of how they would react.

He knew that his wide woul have sought out the presence of her parents first to tell them of their news, but this litter would not be welcomes here on earth by the old Destruction pair. These babies would only know the stories of their grand parents. He would leave those thoughts at the back of his mind as he stood beside Novella, feeling an excitement in him as they left the den in search of their first litter. Aslan and cards had been around since his sickness but he ha yet to lay eyes on Herne. He hoped the boy was alright and would return home soon.

He would feel his wife lean into his side after her voice died off. They need just wait for the arrival of their children. He had no idea how they might react to the news, but he hoped they found as much joy in them as he did.

It had been a slow transition from Winter to Spring, not the weather itself that had seemed to change so quickly whilst the rest of life had felt for a while like a standstill. The pack had come to some sort of a halt as family got over their losses and adjusted to life without Novel and Dutiron. Things were changing soon, not that Aslan realised yet or just how much things would be changing.

It wasn't often that his parents summoned specifically for he and his siblings, and Aslan would find himself a little confused by it though of course would obey anyway. He was a little curious of course as to why the sudden need for the three of them to be together. As he reached the two waiting figures however it seemed that the tall boy would be the first to arrive. He would greet his parents quietly before sitting to wait for Varda and Herne certain that not even a small clue would be given before his siblings arrived.

It had been a silent winter with the news of her grandparents. It didn't affect the young girl too much, although concern for her mother grew in her emotions. Earlier in the season, Varda did wish to spend time with Novella but after the saddening funeral, she found it best to wait. A small talk could wait whilst her parents grieved. In fact, she didn't talk to anyone after the funeral. She only hoped by spring her parents would have put the thoughts behind them.

She would promptly arrive to the family gathering. Her expression melted with relief to see Novella with a bright look, leaning against Frith. With that look, surely there had to be some wonderful or helpful news to be told. Were they going to congratulate them on reaching adulthood? Like her brother, she didn't have much of a clue. Almost, puzzling it was.

She gave a cheery greeting to her parents before trotting off to seat herself beside Aslan. While patiently waiting, she would continue to guess in her mind what the meeting would be about.

ooc: Going to keep this vague as to whether Herne is there or currently absent from Threar

It wouldn't take long at all for their children to arrive and though there was a part of her eager to share the news the happier expressions on their faces truly made her hope that she was doing the right thing now and wasn't about to make those looks fade away again. She hadn't been full of the greatest of news as of late, hopefully they would see this as the wonderful fact that she and Frith saw it as. The only problem was how to tell them, now they were here she suddenly realised she had no idea what to actually say.

"Your father and I have some news to share with you." She wouldn't immediately enforce upon them that it was good news, just in case they took it badly. Once more those visions of Song's children would flash in her mind, they certainly hadn't though new of siblings as being good things.  "You're going to have some new little brothers and sisters." Though she would of course watch their expressions to see how they reacted, she would cast a quick glance to Frith as well, just in case he had anything else to add, this was his news too.

He couldn't ignore the looks on their faces, almost joyous enough to rival his own. He held no doubts in his mind that their children would also find excitement in the prospect of new life, of a new joy to let themselves focus on. Too much tragedy had befallen them, it was time for good news in Threar. He would have greeted his children with the same as they had given upon arrival before sitting down.

Novella would easily take the lead, though with out a moment to build up anticipation, her husband ignorant to her fears as she finally allowed them the news. His smile would grow somehow as his eyes would look back to the pups, or not so much pups anymore. He didn't have anything else to say really, had they any questions they knew they could ask them.

Once they had gathered there was no hesitation in sharing the news with them, fortunately getting straight to the point. Though they were all rather patient children, the curiosity surely would have gotten to the better of them and one would have asked what was happening. Their parents were having a hard time keeping the news in though it seemed and now with all out in the open both of them would find the rather stunned face of Aslan looking back at them.

More siblings? He didn't quite understand how all of that worked just yet though of course understood the concept that somewhere down the line this news meant there would be more pups in Threar. Someone with jealous tendencies may have felt the family still certainly big enough though such a thought didn't enter the sweet boy's mind. He was still very much speechless however, certainly not having expected that news at all and so he would simply match his father's silence for a moment. Hopefully it was clear enough that he wasn't horrified by the news, simply surprised.

That was the news? More siblings? The thought of other siblings had never crossed her mind. She was comfortable, maybe too comfortable, with her brothers. But more brothers and sisters, who knows how many? Spending time with her parents was an activity she dearly enjoyed, however now that Novella was expecting children, she would be spending more time with the little ones than the older children. However, this was her parents' choices and if expanding the family was something they wanted, the only thing she could do was grow to like it.

She seemed to share Aslan's surprised expression, although he kept fairly silent, which left her to compliment the news. She knew Novella and Frith would be looking for positive feedback. Her words came out shaky and unsure. "I guess that's wonderful news."

Frith would remain silent and Aslan would apparently find himself shocked to that very same state. In fact only Varda would be the one to give a response of sorts. It was a surprise, of course she could understand that though Novella certainly would have hoped for a little more excitement to sound from her children from this revelation. Was Aslan quiet because he had nothing good to say on the matter, was Varda sounding so unsure because she honestly didn't think it was wonderful news? Ought she be worried or was she reading too much into it after witnessing the responses from Song's children in the past?

"We are very happy about it." Novella opted to simply confirm Varda's comment. "And they'll be very lucky, having their big brothers and sister around. I know your Uncle Legend and I felt that way when we were growing up." Anthem of course hadn't been the most help in the world with his disability but he had definitely been fun, Myth and Story she was sure felt the same way but she wouldn't bring the pair up, the children hardly knew them after all but Legend had been around since they'd been tiny. She hoped wording it in that manner would possibly make her own children a little more excited about the matter, they too would be incredibly important in the lives of these new children and would of course always be important to their parents too.

Though he was far beyond ecstatic it seemed that his children held no such emotion. Frith's bright bicolored gaze would linger on his children as they received the news, Though he got very little reaction in general. Aslan seemed to take after his father, stunned into silence at least he was not flying off the handle as they told him. Varda looked rather similar, her expression the same yet she was able to squeak out some kind of vocalization she didn't sound incredibly sure of herself. Novella would be there to assure them though, her sweet voice telling them indeed they were happy. While Novella would share her experience with the Frith too would allowa glimpse into his past. "You're very lucky to be getting more siblings, I was an only child and for a long time longed to have such wonderful siblings like you," He'd tell his children softly, he knew they would eventually warm up to the idea, especially once they met their new siblings.

Whilst Aslan struggled to find words, Varda would succeed to some extent. She sounded rather unsure of herself as she spoke them but at least he supposed she had said something, given their parents something to react to because his shocked expression surely hadn't given away too much. Their mother would speak first, informing them of how much she had looked up to her elder siblings. It was easy to forget how many siblings his mother had at times, though he had of course met some of them, only Uncle Legend lived here in Threar right now.

Their father would admit having missed out on any siblings of his own. It was a fact that Aslan hadn't actually known about the man. Now he thought about it, every relative they had ever met was a Destruction, a parent, sibling, cousin or something of some sort to his mother. He'd speak to his father more about that one day he decided but for now, the focus of the conversation would be these new little siblings not that he still had anything to say about them. It sounded all well and good but what else could they really say to any of that? The surprised look had faded slightly but Aslan still had no words.

In a way she felt lucky to have a large and close family, unlike her father during his childhood. The words "big sister" happened to make her feel a bit more excited although "the best big sister" sounded much better, only if her siblings thought of her that way.

"So do we get the chance to teach them? Like in Draft hunts?" It was time she rose a question, one she hoped her parents could answer with a simple yes or no. She remembered her own Draft hunt and how Felicien, a prologue at the time, had helped the three of them finish their task. Draft hunts weren't the only things she wanted to help out with her younger siblings. She could teach them how to independently hunt, seeing as that was the only field she knew of. If only knew everything from healing to fighting, then her brothers and sisters would be geniuses before they're a year old! For now, she would stick with hunting as she couldn't let them grow too smart.

Whilst Frith would find his voice now to add a comment to the topic it hadn't really lifted the general level of the conversation. Aslan still sat there silently offering little contribution to the matter. Varda however had more to say, questioning whether they would be able to help teach their younger siblings. It was a question that she hadn't been expecting them to ask though one that would bring a smile to her features, pleased by her daughter's willingness to help her younger siblings even if they weren't here yet.

"Yes, of course you can." She responded warmly. It would be beneficial for them to think about things that might simply be basic instinct now and of course would certainly help them to bond with the younger siblings. They still had a lot to learn themselves, though they would of course be able to help teach the pups.

Aslan still had no opinion on the matter, electing to keep silent and listen to the conversation as Varda led the conversation, asking excellent questions. He felt a pang of pride in her, his smile growing as he looked to his pups. Hopefully Aslan would take up the same initiative. Their mother would answer with grace, of course they would be able to help as much as they wanted. This reminded him that soon, they would really need to get lessons together. They'd really been lax the past few seasons, and they needed to get back into the habit of learning. They'd need to have another little hunt soon. "What about you Aslan, still speechless?" Bicolored gaze would fall to their stunned son.

Aslan still hadn't gotten used to the idea of new little siblings and suddenly there was talk of teaching them already. This news was rather surprising as well, he was expected to help teach? But he was still learning himself, how could he really teach them things? Sure he knew a few things but not enough to be a good teacher for them.

His father would try prompt some sort of words out of him. Mouth would open before the chocolate boy had found them, though closed as he exhaled again, still quite speechless. "I don't know what to say." He admitted, he had spoken but he was still quite unsure on how he was supposed to react, what he was actually meant to say.

With approval from Novella, her mind suddenly filled with determination. She wanted to be a great sister and how else would she without studying herself? That thought would be left for a later date. Whilst her parents seemed excited with the matter, her brother looked a little lost. He was still startled, a phase she had long passed. His expression was unreadable, making it hard for her to guess if he was in a light mood. Did he find this news joyful or was he unsure how to react? Fortunately he admitted how he felt, which only left her space to persuade him. The rest, however, would be his choice to finish.

"Come on." She encouraged with a friendly nudge to Aslan's shoulder, hoping she would be able to get a few words out of him. "It's not that hard."

Poor Aslan certainly seemed quite put on the spot as Frith tried to prompt him for some sort of response to all of this. Novella couldn't help but smile at the stunned expression still upon his features and the answer he gave certainly wasn't quite what Frith had been looking for it seemed.  Varda too, a little more adjusted would try and encourage him to speak only making the small smile grow a little wider on the mother's face.

"It's alright, he doesn't have to say anything just yet." Novella pointed out.  "Though I do hope you're a little more talkative when they're here, or are you going to leave all that teaching to Varda?" Her own little encouragement now, giving him something to talk about. She was almost certain that he too would want to help his younger siblings learn.

He really should have expected the answer that came from his son's lips, the words would bring an amused smile on his lips. The boy would come around, he knew it. Especially once he had little brothers and sisters crawling all over him. Varda would also encourage her brother as their mother made mention that it would be only Varda that would be teaching the new babies. This time Frith would keep quiet, simply watching his son as the family encouraged him to accept this new role as big brother. He had no doubts that both of them would easily be perfect examples of big brother and sister role models. He'd grant the boy an encouraging glance, he didnt have to have an opinion yet, they'd only known of the new lives for a few minutes so far anyway,

It wasn't that hard? Aslan begged to differ on the matter, still really not quite sure what to really say. He was still rather stunned, not sure how he was supposed to feel. Evidently happy this was good news and he did love Varda and Herne. His mother wouldn't fault him for his silence though, explaining he didn't need to talk now. He nodded his head at her second comment however, he'd get more talkative, he'd help with the teaching. "I want to help too." He confirmed, perhaps still not quite the big reassurance that he was happy about everything but he certainly did want to help these new little siblings, would surely be happy when he got to meet them.

In her mind, she agreed with her mother's encouragement. Perhaps Aslan didn't have to show his excitement now, but when the pups arrived, it would be her turn to keep quiet while he talked his head off. He wasn't going to be a very fun brother if he didn't chat, unless their siblings we're going to be quiet children.

"I wouldn't be able to do all the teaching." She admitted, pleased to hear that he'd help out. Maybe she could do all the educating, but surely her brother had skills she didn't. Her words were now directed to her parents, expecting their announcement to be finished unless there was more news that had yet to be exchanged. At that point, it didn't seem likely. "Is there anything else you called us for?"
