Dark paws would carry Threar's alpha back towards his den, after a successful catch of a rather plump rabbit the man was heading to bring it back to his newly weaned pups. They were not quite old enough to start playing with live things, but surely the carcass would make for a good game and tasty snack. His grin was hidden behind his catch as he made an eager approach to the entrance. Though there was still worry in the back of his mind as he thought of their mother who was still in the den with them.

She hadn't fully recovered from the birth yet, and if he was completely honest he had to guess that she had almost gotten worse. He worried for her, but knew she was strong and would pull through for him and their family. He had no doubt that she would enjoy the time alone in the den as he wished to tempt Fate and Luck from the confines within.

Dropping the carcass at the door his deep vocals would let out an eager woof, calling the young children to his side. This was lesson one, and he couldn't wait to get started.

As silly as it may have sounded, Luck was glad she had to wait. The outside world seemed very uncomfortable. At least, from her point of view. Everything seemed much better in the arms of her mother and father, safe and protected inside the den. Besides, what was so interesting about the world? Of course there was the sun...but wasn't that really bright and blinding? The grass, too. It was itchy and nothing like the soft dirt that made up the ground in which she slept on.

But it seemed her time inside the comforting safety of the den was up. The sound of her father reached her sensitive little ears, her eyes slowly peeling open. She yawned gently and lifted her head with a confused whimper. But her puzzlement was soon relieved, as her innocent blue eyes rested on the man who stood at the entrance of the den. Daddy...he had something at his feet. Luck hobbled to her paws and carefully stepped over her brother, crawling out into the sun.

She winced as the blinding light assaulted her and she instantly backed up into the shade of the den.  "Oh..." She whispered, her ears flattening against her head. Her eyes slowly drifted to her father's face, and uneasy frown blossoming across her inky lips. Then, she gazed down at the rabbit, and she gasped quietly. "Asleep?" She asked quietly. She still wasn't perfectly fluent with her words...but she tried her best.

The young prince was curled up against the warmth of his mother's stomach as he fell into a state of peaceful slumber. His breathing could be seen slow and steady to match this idea and his eyes were glued shut. A soft woof from the front of the den would make him stir as his goldenrod eyes flashed open in an instant. His maw parted, a soft yawn being released as he blinked a few times to adjust to the light of day. His sister was already up and about, which did not surprise him because she had always seemed more energetic than him. He would slowly rise to his paws, wincing at the light coming in from outside the den. He slowly moved towards his father, keeping an open mind to what laid beyond.

He had been nervous about the outside because he did not know what to expect. The curiosity he had for what the outside held was more powerful than the nerves that had accompanied him. His small legs took eager steps towards the den before he crossed the threshold. "Awesome." The words came out as he gazed around the outside. He completely ignored the dead rabbit that laid near his father as he looked around.

Novella would not follow their tiny children from the den, and really he couldn't blame her. He knew how tired she was and he wasn't willing to disrupt her sleep enough to coax her out. She deserved a break, and he was happy to give it to her. The pups on the other hand, though not completely eager to depart from the confines of within would both obey their father's summons and come to the outside.

Both pups would feel the brightness of the sunlight despite their den being covered in tropical foliage. Having never seen the outside he had no doubt their little eyes would need a few long moments to get adjusted. "Good morning, my loves." He'd whisper to them as their curious expressions and words reached him. Luck's attention would fall on the rabbit he'd brought them, her question curious inquiring if it was asleep. While her brother was quite distracted by the fact that he was finally outside. He'd smile at them both. "This is food," He'd tell her as he looked to Fate, "And it really is, there's so much exploring we'll have to do." He'd tell the little runts as he sat down. "We can save the food for when we get back." They'd be ready for a nap afterwards for sure, and after expending all the energy they would have no problem accepting their new food. "For now, aer you two ready to go for a walk?"

Novella couldn't understand quite what was wrong with her this time. She had felt calmer, more rested and all together better throughout this pregnancy and even the birth itself though her strength simply refused to come back as swiftly. She was young still, age wasn't the issue here but she was certainly feeling rather worn down still. She would have been rather upset to know Frith was planning on sneaking off for the first outing, tired or not the woman certainly wished to see how Fate and Luck coped with their first trip outside.

She would stir as the children departed to greet their father though she would still awake slowly and opened her eyes to discover she was alone in the den. Pushing herself to her paws, she followed pausing at the entrance herself and watching those first little explorations, she hadn't missed everything. She probably wouldn't join them on the walk to be fair, however much she wished to accompany them the rest alone would surely do her some good.

Before long, her fragile eyes began to adjust to the light of the sun, her paws moving her forward and out of the shelter of the entrance. But she stood a distance from the rabbit that sat at her father's paws. If it wasn't asleep...it might have been dangerous. Luck sighed and turned to her lighter brother, smiling nervously as he examined the outside world. He seemed much more interested in she was. This place, outside the den...was it really, awesome? It was okay...but not as nice as the den.

Soon, her father spoke, greeting them and clarifying that the rabbit in which lay before his paws was food. The young lady moved toward him and leaned against him, her gentle eyes landing upon the rabbit. She whimpered. "Don't wanna...eat." She murmured, her eyes resting upon the shady figure of her mother, standing at the entrance of den. She had wanted to run over to her...but really, she felt better close to Daddy like this. Even if it was outside the den.

He hadn't expected her presence but Novella would sneak from the den as he called forth their children. She was obviously slower, her strength nothing compared to what it had been before the birth of their children. Now that they were out and about though he hoped that the alone time might give his wife an opportunity to recover with out the stress of their tiny children hanging off her. He had indeed planned to sneak off with them, but he was glad to see her appearance. With Luck at his feet the Author would refrain from moving forward and nuzzling Novella just yet as his daughter proclaimed she did not wish to eat. "You don't have to right now." He'd assure her as he nuzzled the small child.

Rising from the earth Frith would move forward to nuzzle Novella lovingly, but tenderly as he was sure she had somehow become more delicate over the course of the season. He'd nudged Luck to her feet and he would seek out the adventurous form of Fate. "Do you want to come with us, dearest? I figured you'd do well with the extra sleep." He'd ask his wife as he nuzzled into her neck softly.

Fate kept his eyes off of his family as he looked around, taking each daring step farther away from the den. There was so much to see and do that he didn't even know where to start! He held his breath for a second as the awe fell onto his face with the wonder of what was about. The boy was always curious of new things but this was taking it to extremes. "Come on! Let's go!" The eager boy rushed off towards the centre of the territory. He carefully watched where he placed his paws as he tried to jump over small sticks and avoid the mud.

Luck would venture closer to Frith whereas Fate was apparently more daring and opted instead to spread a little further afield, bounding around with more vigour. Novella watched the pair for a moment, eyes then falling to her mate as he spoke. A part of her certainly couldn't help but agree with his words, sleep and some time alone would surely do her some good and yet she didn't want to miss out. She could watch them now, watch their return perhaps would she be pushing herself too hard to try and follow? It was a possibility.

Her gaze flicked back to the children again. So eager to explore, did she want to hold them back, taint the memories of their first expedition with their mother slowing them down? Maybe they would take after their grandfather, could develop to be avid story tellers, could return home and report their adventures to her later. "That might be a good idea." She confessed, though would push herself that little bit further from the den to move to her mate's side. "I'll just watch for now, wait for you to come back."

Now little Luck would have her attention. "Have fun." She told them, nuzzling her daughter's head gently before looking to her son still eager to get going, she wouldn't catch up with him too easily it seemed. "And be good."
